Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 18 - 18 Weapon Manufacturing

These weapons are just too disappointing!

Xu Xin thought of the owls, wolves, and giant pythons outside, and suddenly felt that these wooden sticks and hammers were like toys. He directly turned his head to look at the synthesis table, but did not find any weapon blueprints there. Instead, he saw a new workbench.

[Weapon and Armor Manufacturing Table (Green): A tool table needed for crafting advanced weapons and armor, which can be used to manufacture and repair weapons and armor, but donʼt test the sharpness of weapons with it, or youʼll ruin your newly made weapon! Requires Wood (Green) *50, Iron Block (Green) *5]

He quickly rushed downstairs, took the iron blocks already refined in the furnace, and added them to the previous leftovers, totaling 7 green iron blocks and 2 blue iron blocks.

Xu Xin first tried adding Blue Wood and Blue Iron Blocks to the materials, but a prompt popped up on the small screen of the synthesis table.

[Advanced materials cannot enhance the capabilities of the weapon manufacturing table. Continue production?]

Definitely not.

Xu Xin disappointedly canceled the production, it seems advanced materials arenʼt so omnipotent. He used the original materials to make the weapon manufacturing table and placed it next to the synthesis table.

A loud bang, the weapon manufacturing table appeared in front of him. Xu Xin nervously looked out the window and found that the beasts were not attracted by the loud noise, he relaxed and started operating.

Although the weapon manufacturing tableʼs body uses a wooden structure, the combination of metal parts and tool areas gives it a very metallic look overall. There is also a small and unreal screen on the weapons table displaying the blueprints in the weapons table.

[Wooden Bow (Green): A simple bow and arrow, with only a thirty-meter range and low power, but as long as you hit a vital point, it can still exert good combat power. Durability 200. Requires Wood (Green) *5, Any Beast Tendon *1]

[Wooden Arrow (White): A simple arrow, just sharpening the head of a wooden stick. Because the arrow tail has no feathers, it will reduce shooting accuracy. Recoverable. Wooden Arrow (White) *20 requires Wood (White) *4]

[Stone Arrow (Green): A standard arrow with a stone arrowhead, wooden shaft, and feather configuration, precise strike! Recoverable. Stone Arrow (Green) *20 requires Stone (Green) *2, Wood (White) *2, Feather (Green) *2]

[Stone Spear (Green): The most powerful stone weapon against beasts, an inch longer and stronger, the sharp spearhead can inflict damage on beasts. Durability 200. Requires Wood (Green) *5, Stone (Green) *2]

Although Xu Xin can already refine iron blocks, unfortunately, there are no iron weapons in the list.

Below, there is an introduction of stone swords, stone knives, and stone daggers. Xu Xin glanced at it and directly chose the stone spear.

Blades require strength and skill to master, swords and daggers even more, these two things are indistinguishable from toys in front of beasts. The spear, as a cold weapon battlefield killer, can exert good power even in the hands of a novice.

Throughout the Three Kingdoms, almost no warrior used swords as the main weapon. Lu Bu and Dian Wei both wielded long halberds, four of the Five Tiger Generals used long-handled weapons and one used a bow. Even if they had and could use swords, they rarely did, highlighting the advantages of long-handled weapons in killing enemies.

Of course, each has its advantages. Swords are more flexible when facing multiple small units, while daggers excel in close combat with animals like snakes. But currently, materials are limited, so prioritizing stone spears.

Consuming one Blue Wood and Blue Stone each, Xu Xin crafted a Blue Stone Spear.

[Blue Stone Spear: The most powerful stone weapon against beasts, an inch longer and stronger, the sharp spearhead can easily pierce through a beastʼs fur. Durability 1000]

Good stuff!

The weapon manufacturing table has the ability to repair weapons, so as long as the durability of this weapon does not drop to zero and break, it can be repaired and used again.

Holding this spear, Xu Xin suddenly felt assured and took a look at armor manufacturing.

Armor only has leather armor, not wood or iron armor, so he can still only wear the newbie two-piece set, shorts and short sleeves.

However, fortunately, his body seems to have adapted to the jungle, at least not as it was on the first day, where his arms and legs were scratched by tree branches and bushes painfully, requiring herbal application.

Iron tools and armor probably need to be unlocked.

Holding the blue-grade stone spear, he went to the screen and clicked on the regional channel.

”Ahhhh what are these things outside!!”

”Tiger! Thereʼs a tiger clawing at my window outside!”

”Whyʼs that bird so big? Thatʼs not scientific!”

”Is this really the time for science? Can science help you escape this world?”

”Itʼs over, my treehouse is surrounded by a pack of wolves, someone come save me!”

The regional channel was already in chaos. Xu Xin sent a message to Li Wenxi: ”Howʼs it on your side?” He didnʼt dare to use voice input, but used the touchscreen keyboard instead.

Li Wenxi replied quickly, she should also be observing the regional channel: ”All sorts of beasts, a bit scary, but it should be fine. My treehouse is high; they canʼt get up and canʼt find me. Youʼre similar, right?” She probably also feared making noise and attracting the beasts outside, hence no voice message.

”Very safe, though thereʼs a big snake eyeing my treehouse, feels unsettling. Iʼll trade some wood for your iron ore.”

”Donʼt need wood for now, do you have any red berries? Give me some.”

”Okay.”

Subsequently, Xu Xin initiated a trade, exchanging three red berries for 60 green iron blocks, loyal customer discounted price, 1:20.

He glanced at the trading platform, indeed, green-grade materials were still not for sale, let alone blue materials, as most people didnʼt have enough themselves.

Xu Xin tossed the traded iron blocks into the furnace, fortunately, although the furnace heats up, it made no sound, so there wasnʼt concern about animals outside hearing.

Xu Xin actually wanted to try shooting outside with a bow from the treehouse. Earlier, he tried throwing stone from the treehouse, and the outer canopy didnʼt block stones thrown from inside, meaning he could shoot arrows outward from within the treehouse.

But, crafting bows requires beast tendons, only obtainable from below corpses, leaving Xu Xin at a loss. If only one beast was below, he might, with his blue-tier weapon, take a chance. But now there are too many beasts below, one could pop out unexpectedly, he dared not risk it.

Just then, a black bear and a few wolves started a fight below.

Xu Xin watched the animals engaging in a melee below, considering if he could go down and grab a corpse or something.

[Unlocking the Survival World Creator Permissions]

? Again?

Suddenly hearing the prompt tone, Xu Xin was stunned for a moment, then got excited. Although last time the unlocking failed, it granted him identification ability, letting him lead others by a large margin at the initial stage; wondering what would happen this time.

[Unlock failed, trying second unlock attempt...]

Sure enough, failed again.
