A Sect from a Spirit Vein

Chapter 134: Chapter 114: Frostleaf Alliance

After the initiation ceremony, all the disciples became busy.

Jiang Qingfeng sorted through all the administrative positions on Bichao Mountain and marked the corresponding merit points. Since there were very few disciples, she simply gathered everyone together and started assigning positions based on their individual situations.

The administrative positions were divided into external and internal posts.

External posts refer to positions like capturing and apprehending, patrolling and guarding, being attendants, transmitting messages, and reception.

Internal posts refer to managing servants, planting and breeding, talisman making, alchemy, and artifact refining.

External posts were easier to manage, requiring just physical effort, while being attendants required disciples to be somewhat agile.

Internal posts, however, were mostly technical jobs. This tally revealed that with few Yunshan disciples, there were even fewer with a special skill.

Some knew talisman making, but those with even a slight understanding of spirit plant and medicine cultivation became high-end talents; only three people knew alchemy, and even then only one or two pill formulas, whereas artifact refining was simply wishful thinking, with none skilled in it.

When they went back to consult Lu Qian, he waved his hand and said, ”No rush, learn!”

Temporarily reduce the external posts, and replace them with mortal servants wherever possible, retaining only necessary guards to avoid being caught unaware. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

Then, according to the disciple education and training system, treat all disciples as blank slates and begin training them.

Both inner and outer disciples must regularly study the sect’s rules and regulations, and if they miss classes due to work assignments, they must make it up through self-study, with assessments conducted every year.

In terms of cultivation technique study, both inner and outer disciples have a major class every five days, with staggered times. Transmission Elder Tan Hong will teach and resolve doubts and provide guidance for them.

Currently, all kinds of cultivation techniques are plentiful. The techniques taught to them are selected by Lu Qian and Tan Hong and are derived from the fifteen cultivation techniques capable of reaching the Foundation Establishment stage, with the part relevant to the Qi Cultivation Stage extracted. These are much better than miscellaneous Qi Cultivation techniques and essentially cover all spirit root attributes.

In the now urgently needed life skills, several elders taught what they could. For skills they did not know, disciples would explore according to their talents and interests, from simple to complex, using talisman templates, pill formulas, spirit plant and herb cultivation methods, artifact refining techniques, and magical artifact atlases stored in the library.

All spirit plant districts, spirit medicine gardens, alchemy rooms, and artifact refining workshops would be used as experimental fields, without concern for investment or output, letting everyone learn through practice and practice through learning.

The seven young disciples began their foundational education and basic studies. Only when they’re slightly older, with foundational cultivation techniques and some spiritual power, could they start learning life skills like talisman making and alchemy.

Learning with them was their Junior Martial Uncle, Jiang Baitao.

Baitao was happy to play with them, but when it came to studying together, she felt she had surpassed these little ones far too much to play house with them.

Though already at Qi Cultivation Stage two, Baitao’s journey had been hurried, learning piecemeal from here and there without forming a system, so Jiang Qingfeng insisted on starting her from the basics to build a solid foundation, with Lu Qian wholeheartedly supporting it.

With no one to back her up, Baitao could only sulkily sit with the little martial nephews. However, she soon brightened up, thinking having seven little followers was quite delightful.

Lin Le was different. Although he was also newly initiated, he held multiple positions and was very busy, with no time to sit down and study. Lu Qian held him in high regard, recognizing his maturity, self-discipline, and steadfastness, and simply handed him suitable cultivation techniques and study materials for self-study, occasionally providing private tutoring.

Thus, this youth enjoyed the personalized instruction typically reserved for true disciples ahead of time.

In sum, though it was already October and the weather was getting cold, Bichao Mountain was in a state of excitement and activity. There wasn’t a single idle person in the Yunshan Sect, everyone striving towards their set goals.

October fifteenth, the day of the alliance meeting.

The meeting was scheduled for noon, at a location centrally positioned among the five families, a place called Red Maple Valley, three hundred miles away from Bichao Mountain in a straight line.

On this early morning, Lu Qian awoke from his meditation early. At this moment, he donned a wide-sleeved robe of a pale white color, with patterns woven in golden threads at the cuffs and hem, and a golden silk cloud-patterned jade belt around his waist, his hair neatly combed, making him appear majestic and outstanding.

Initially, Lu Qian had casually thrown on a long robe but was grabbed by a hurriedly arriving Jiang Qingfeng and made to change into something carefully selected.

”Today is the day of the alliance meeting. As the Sect Leader of Yunshan, you naturally must display the demeanor of a head of a sect.” Jiang Qingfeng meticulously adjusted Lu Qian’s collar and stepped back a few steps to inspect him closely before her cheeks blushed slightly, ”Junior brother, are you really not taking me today?”

Lu Qian smiled and shook his head, ”Currently, with matters in the sect just starting to settle, not a single point can be neglected. You are most familiar with the new Yunshan system and naturally must stay to oversee the situation.”

Jiang Qingfeng nodded regretfully. She had multiple roles and had been exceedingly busy these past days. With several urgent matters piled up waiting for her attention, she could only leave reluctantly.

With time still early, Lu Qian sat down. On the table in front of him was a map of Chongming County.

The map was obtained from Zhou Chao and was more detailed than any available in the marketplace, especially regarding the southern half of Chongming County. It marked sects, spirit veins, marketplaces, and terrain in detail, a rarity indeed.
