A Sect from a Spirit Vein

Chapter 78: Chapter 75: Accepted as a Sect Disciple

Lu Qian smiled and nodded, walked into the house, and immediately saw the desk piled high with draft papers.

”Hmm, it seems you’ve been diligent with the task I gave you. Tell me, how did it go?” Lu Qian casually sat down at the table and picked up a sheet of records, beginning to read.

The mother and son stood carefully to the side. Lin Le calmed his emotions, trying hard to organize his thoughts: ”Immortal Master, you saved our lives. I couldn’t repay you even if I worked tirelessly, so how could I be careless? Over the past half a month, I’ve been following your instructions and completed the marketplace investigation according to the checklist. As of today, I’ve completed the tasks for Artifact Refining, Arrays, and Talismans and am conducting market research on Elixirs. However, the variety of Elixirs is vast, and the involved raw materials are very complex. I estimate I’ll need about ten more days...”

As he spoke, Lu Qian’s speed of flipping through the draft papers became faster and faster, almost scanning each sheet with a glance. The papers on the table rustled as they were turned, causing Lin Le to become nervous and unable to continue speaking.

”August Twenty-Eighth, investigated Lihuo Pavilion and eleven other Artifact Refining workshops; within eight hours, ten Initial-Tier Magical Artifacts, thirty-two Mid-Tier Magical Artifacts, and twenty-eight High-Tier Magical Artifacts were sold. Attack Artifacts accounted for eighty percent but only fifty percent of sales revenue. Among Attack Artifacts, Flying Swords accounted for sixty percent... Of the twelve workshops, four purchased refining materials, including five hundred pounds of Star Dust Sand, eight hundred pounds of Dark Star Iron, and one hundred pounds of Golden Cyan Jade...”

”August Twenty-Ninth... September Fifth... In horizontal comparison, Mingsi Pavilion had the highest transaction volume over the past ten days. It has the following characteristics... Here are some guesses on how its products attract customers...”

”September Seventh, investigated Peaceful Pavilion and seven other array shops... The array type with the highest sales share is... The custom array services provided have the following characteristics... The commission curve for Array Masters over the past ten years is as follows...”

”Over the past seven days, the distribution of Qi Cultivation Stage Paper Talisman sales categories is as follows... Shops located next to the bulletin board and commission office have thirty percent higher average sales than other shops... Among Talisman-Making Materials, Demon Beast blood has the fastest consumption, reaching...”

Lu Qian’s Divine Sense rapidly rolled, swiftly recording each piece of information in his mind, extracting the key points from them in a categorized manner.

Excellent, truly excellent, far beyond my expectations!

The detail of this investigation is several times higher than the task I originally assigned. Especially in each investigation material, there are horizontal and vertical comparisons and some summary guesses made by Lin Le. Although these thoughts are very immature, they reflect Lin Le’s diligence and provide me with a good direction.

Holding this thick stack of draft papers, Lu Qian could feel the effort within them. This market investigation will provide important reference value for the future business operations of the Yunshan Sect.

”Lin Le, you’ve done very well, far beyond my expectations.” Lu Qian praised, unable to resist asking, ”Even though you grew up in this marketplace and know many shop owners, you are ultimately just a mortal. Mortals find it difficult to gather so much data. How exactly did you do it?”

Hearing Lu Qian’s praise, Lin Le’s cheeks flushed with excitement, and he hurriedly said: ”After receiving the task, I investigated on my own for a few days and indeed found many areas beyond my reach. But then, I suddenly remembered that there are many mortal clerks in those shops, so I changed my method. I commissioned these mortal clerks to help collect data, paying them with Spirit Stones as a reward. Cultivators don’t care about mortals, but in fact, everything they say and do is seen and heard by these mortals...

Lin Le’s words were like a bomb exploding in Lu Qian’s heart!

Cultivators don’t care about mortals, but in fact, everything they say and do is seen and heard by these mortals...

That’s it! The biggest information flow in this market is actually hidden among mortals!

Since entering Meihua Square, each piece of information, combined with Lin Le’s records just looked at, flashed like lightning in Lu Qian’s mind as his Consciousness Collection fully operated.

If only one can fully utilize mortals, they can grasp this enormous information flow. Whether it is to be one step ahead in the traditional markets of Magical Artifacts, Pills, Arrays, Talismans, Pets, or to earn money like the marketplace mediator through the information market, it’s all possible to achieve!

Moreover! Even within each Sect, there are a large number of mortal servants!

A possibility suddenly popped into his mind, and Lu Qian immediately stood up, giving Lin Le a fright.

He happened to be reporting on the expenditure of Spirit Stones: ”To gather this information, the five hundred Spirit Stones you gave me, I’ve already spent four hundred—”

Seeing Lu Qian stand up, Lin Le became exceedingly fearful, thinking Lu Qian was angry about spending too much money, and hurriedly knelt down: ”Immortal Master Qi, it’s all my fault for acting on my own, causing extra expenses...”

The woman was also frightened and was about to kneel down, but Lu Qian quickly extended a hand, and with a surge of Spiritual Power, lifted the mother and son up.

He let out a long breath, keeping the earlier thought firmly in mind, and gently said: ”No, you misunderstood. Lin Le, you’ve done very well, really well.”

Looking at the rejuvenated young man, Lu Qian laughed and said: ”Do you remember when I previously said this was the first task I gave you? If you did it to my satisfaction, I would give you a second one. If you could complete that as well, I would induct you into my sect.”

Lin Le nodded heavily, his face full of excitement, just as Lu Qian said: ”You have now exceeded the task requirements. I have decided to reward you ahead of schedule, reversing the sequence and first inducting you into the sect, then giving you the second task. Will you accept?”

In an instant, Lin Le only felt a buzzing in his ears, his blood rushing, and the light before his eyes distorting. It felt like he was stepping on cotton, making him dizzy and his face red, stammering: ”Immortal Master Qi... but, but I haven’t completely finished the investigation; there are still Elixirs and raw materials that haven’t been...”

Hearing the Immortal Master promise to induct her son into the sect, yet he was flustered, the woman urgently kicked the back of his knee.

With a thud, Lin Le knelt on the ground. Instantly, he regained complete clarity, overjoyed, and kowtowed repeatedly: ”Master above, please accept the disciple’s bow!”

Lu Qian couldn’t help but laugh, raising a hand to stop him. Lin Le raised his head in confusion, already with a large bump on his forehead.

”Lin Le, when I said I would induct you into the sect, I meant allowing you to join the Yunshan Sect as a Yunshan Disciple. However, it does not mean becoming my personal student. Who you ultimately become a disciple of depends on your own fortune.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Le realized his mistake, quickly agreeing. Though he greatly wished to become Lu Qian’s personal disciple, he also understood that nothing could be achieved overnight. Moreover, after yearning for over ten years, finally having the chance to enter the Immortal Sect was already deeply satisfying.

Then, Lu Qian continued: ”In a while, first follow me. I’ll take you to the Yun Mountain base to perform a simple initiation ceremony. Also, since I’ve already agreed to induct you, I’ll not withhold the truth. I am actually not named Qi; my name is Lu Qian.”

”Lu as in land, Qian as in heaven and earth. I am the fourth-generation Sect Leader of the Yunshan Sect.”
