A Sect from a Spirit Vein

Chapter 66: Chapter 63: Sorting the Treasury

From the high noon when the sun was overhead to dusk, with a creak, the gate finally opened.

Lu Qian walked out with satisfaction, and Jiang Qingfeng was also quite pleased, while Taotao wore a small frown, looking very unhappy.

It turned out the little girl found it novel at first, but after flipping through for a while, she found it boring. Watching the adults talk in high spirits, with words she barely understood, felt extremely tedious. If Jiang Qingfeng hadn’t held her tight, she might have escaped long ago.

At this moment, Zhao Xianzong’s voice came from the building, ”Quickly invite Sect Leader Lu to the side hall for a rest. Sect Leader Lu, I’ve prepared a banquet. Although our sect is small, I hope you’ll forgive the simplicity. Please be seated, and I and Sect Leaders Wang and Sun will join you shortly.”

Hearing the door close again behind him, Lu Qian chuckled silently. It seemed that after he took away thirty percent, these three sects still needed to haggle among themselves. With blatant interests at stake, they could not even adhere to the etiquette of hospitality, letting guests sit and wait first.

However, at this moment, he and Jiang Qingfeng had seven or eight storage pouches filled with treasures, naturally having no worries.

Baitao, hearing there would finally be food, became excited again, urging Lu Qian and Jiang Qingfeng to move forward. Under the guidance of Spirit Snake Peak disciples, they arrived at the side hall, where the banquet was already set.

Under guidance, they took their seats, each in front of a low table, covered with various porcelain plates and jade bowls, loaded with delicacies giving off a mouth-watering aroma. Normally, without the host at the table, it wasn’t polite for guests to start eating. But Taotao had been hungry for quite a while. Since Lu Qian was always indulgent toward her, he ignored Jiang Qingfeng’s warning glances and let her have some pastries and fruits to fill her stomach.

Watching Taotao adorably puff up her cheeks to gobble down the food, while calculating his current assets, past memories flashed quickly in his mind, efficiently tallying up numbers, even Lu Qian himself was surprised.

The hidden treasures of Yunshan Sect, combined with what was gained from the journey starting at Black Stone Marketplace, along with the spoils from defeating the Chaosheng Sect envoy, and now the thirty percent share he obtained, his total possessions included:

Firstly, personal equipment: Starlight Needle, Orange Splendor Lamp, White Jade Flying Ship, and a Spiritual Copper Mirror obtained from Li Zhenru.

Secondly, reserved magical artifacts: 3 high-tier attack spiritual artifacts, 15 mid-tier attack spiritual artifacts, and 1 mid-tier defense spiritual artifact, along with 4 low-tier defense spiritual artifacts.

Thirdly, reserved supplies: 20 stacks of Qi Cultivation Stage High-Tier Talisman, 130 stacks of mid-tier talisman, and 70 stacks of low-tier talisman. 20 bottles of Qi Cultivation Stage High-Tier Elixir, 100 bottles of mid-tier elixir, and 40 bottles of low-tier elixir.

The reason for these even numbers is that when distributing the thirty percent spoils, Lu Qian purposely took fewer materials to round off numbers, in exchange, he took the array base and array map of two mountain protection grand arrays. These two array bases and maps could fetch five to six thousand spirit stones if sold in the marketplace.

Additionally, there was a completed and temporarily stored Jade Seal Array Base Five Elements Formation with tokens for entry and exit.

Fourthly, cultivation technique secret manuals: one copy of the ”Hidden Cloud Scripture” that allows progression to the Golden Core, 10 kinds of techniques that allow reaching Foundation Establishment, and 23 volumes of Qi Cultivation Techniques. Additionally, Yunshan Sect’s exclusive secret technique ”Wind Shadow Cloud Body” and 152 magic techniques of various attributes and categories, mainly attack and defense types, with more to examine for unique techniques among the subsequent acquisitions.

volumes of pill formulas, 22 kinds of talisman samples, and 30 methods for cultivating spirit plants and spiritual medicine.

Seventeen volumes of cultivation insights from Yunshan Sect’s past sect leaders, elders, and core disciples, one volume of array insights from Li Zhenru, and one mantra of the Yin Yang Five Elements Grand Array passed down by Master Xuan Ji.

Also, there was a Six Harmonies Array secret manual owed to him by Zhou Chao.

Fifthly, miscellaneous items: Five human skin masks, a pair of Snake Demon Poison Fangs from the late-stage Qi Cultivation, and a small half-gourd of Shengyi Sect’s secret medicine Drunken Immortal Powder. Various spiritual medicines with differing ages and various raw materials for artifact refining and talisman making, valued at approximately 2500 spirit stones.

Finally, there were 12 spirit crystals and 1500 spirit stones.

After such calculations, realizing the importance, establishing a sect and setting up regulations separating public and private assets and establishing a public treasury is more urgent.

Even though in the cultivation realm, the leaders of small sects usually wield great power, freely using sect resources, blurring the lines between public and private.

However, for long-term development, clear distinction between public and private is essential. As the sect leader, he also must strictly adhere to sect regulations and cannot arbitrarily withdraw public resources. For instance, all the spoils from this battle must first enter the public treasury, then be rewarded according to the regulations, rewarding merit and bestowing rewards.

Within this basic framework, fine adjustments can be made. For example, the person who acquires resources has priority; if one obtains an urgently needed treasure during a collective sect action, they can apply to exchange it for battle achievements, and if insufficient, purchase it with spirit stones.

In collective sect actions, if someone obtains resources but conceals them, they must be punished.

Lu Qian was thinking, drafting regulation after regulation in his mind. Suddenly, he truly heard the scratch of pen on paper. Turning to look, it was Jiang Qingfeng using a pen, writing on a sheet of plain paper.

Amidst the food’s aroma, the Rootless Fire in the hall burned brightly, casting a warm glow. The beauty sat upright, her fair wrists suspended, writing swiftly.

Shoulders as if carved from jade, waist like bound silk, a graceful neck, and a fair complexion exposed. The elegance of the curves entranced Lu Qian, leaving him in a daze.

Gently using spiritual power to dry the ink quickly, Jiang Qingfeng placed the plain paper into an envelope, sealed it, and handed it to a Spirit Snake Peak disciple nearby.

”Please deliver this letter to the Zhou Family, and have the Young Master Zhou Chao open it personally.”

The disciple had long been instructed to follow the commands of Yunshan Sect’s esteemed guests and fulfill requests, and since it was a letter to the Sect Leader, he dared not delay and ran off swiftly.

Having completed everything, Jiang Qingfeng raised her head, meeting Lu Qian’s gaze, and smiled faintly.

It turned out, seeing she had some free time, she remembered the task Lu Qian gave her and decided to write and send the letter here directly.

Lu Qian smiled, about to speak, when he saw the three sect leaders enter with their accompanying disciples.

Zhao Xianzong was beaming and repeatedly apologized, ”Sorry to keep Sect Leader Lu waiting, it’s such a disgrace, I’ll punish myself with three cups later...”

Everyone was wealthy, so naturally in pleasant spirits. After being seated, the banquet formally began, and with glasses clinking and laughter exchanging, the atmosphere grew ever more lively.

After a few more drinks, people began addressing each other as brothers, and conversations flowed more freely.

At the height of the atmosphere, Zhao Xianzong, his face flushed, squinting drunken eyes, spoke unclearly, ”Younger Brother Lu, Young Master Zhou from the Zhou Family told us about your impressive background, not only is your sect full of talents, but you also have a Golden Core Master backing you. Wow, may your future soar ever higher, just don’t forget to look after your elder brother!”
