She Used Me for a Dare… Now I Own Her Mother

Chapter 570: The Queen Claims Her Seat

Alex lingered in the quiet cabin of his car, his gaze fixed on the luminous architectural schematic floating across his vision.

The deeper he examined the Empire Builder interface, the more the cold brilliance of the system became clear.

In this world, raw personal strength could make a man a lethal blade, but it could never make him an untouchable sovereign.

Power without territory was nomadic and fragile. Territory without surveillance was an open invitation to assassination.

With the Territorial Ward, 14 Central Corridor would no longer be just a disputed glass-and-steel skyscraper—it was an active fortress. Any hostile cultivator stepping across its perimeter with killing intent would trigger an immediate warning in his mind.

Combined with the 15% vital essence recovery buff for sworn subordinates, the building became a lethal meat grinder for any invader stupid enough to breach the lobby.

And that was only Level 1.

The Faction Ledger and Territorial Appraisal stripped away the messiest, most dangerous variables of corporate expansion: bureaucratic bloat, structural blind spots, and the ever-present rot of hidden traitors.

As Eclipse Holdings swallowed more ground across the city, the system would turn every acquisition into an interconnected, self-monitoring network of power.

Before Alex could dismiss the glowing panel, the golden light rippled again.

A sharp, crisp chime resonated directly behind his temples, and a new prompt unfurled in rapid succession.

[DING!!]

[MAIN MISSION: BUILD YOUR EMPIRE — PHASE 02 TRIGGERED!]

[Description: A headquarters without an operational framework is merely empty concrete. To transform Eclipse Holdings from a registered shell into a functional predator, you must establish its foundational structure and field your first active unit.]

[Mission Objectives:]

1. Establish at least one official operational division under Eclipse Holdings.

2. Appoint one qualified Division Head.

3. Assign at least three qualified core members to the division.

[Completion Reward: Sovereign’s Gaze: Eye of Insight ]

[Failure Penalty:]

* System Support reduced by 50% for 7 days.

Alex’s eyes widened slightly before a low, genuine laugh escaped his throat.

An ocular appraisal skill tailored specifically for an empire builder.

In a city crawling with corporate spies, ancient clan informants, and disguised assassins, the greatest vulnerability of any rising organization was always its hiring line. Bringing in an unaffiliated cultivator was always a coin toss between recruiting an asset or welcoming a viper into the nest.

With the Eye of Insight, vetting would cease to be a guessing game. He would be able to strip away every mask, see through every fake cultivation license, and instantly determine whether a prospect was a hidden genius or a planted mole.

It was an indispensable tool for the kind of empire he intended to forge.

Best of all, the objective was practically already gift-wrapped.

Viktor was a hardened veteran with flawless instincts, and Andre, Pavel, and Damien had just broken through to the Apex Realm tonight under his direct guidance.

Setting up the Tactical & Security Division with Viktor at the helm and the three monsters backing him up wouldn’t just fulfill the mission—it would unleash a strike team that rival clans wouldn’t see coming until their teeth were already kicked in.

Phase Two was practically his for the taking.

Alex waved his hand, dismissing the system screen with a flick of his thoughts.

He shifted the car into drive, gripped the wheel with one hand, and stepped on the accelerator. The engine hummed with a subdued, predatory growl as the coupe glided out of the VIP lane, pointing its nose toward Roland Estate.

The neon-drenched avenues of the central district blurred into streaks of cold crimson and silver against the dark glass.

At this hour, the core of the city was still wide awake... a sprawling web of glass towers, roaring high-end sports cars, and shadowed estates belonging to the bloodlines that quietly carved up the metropolis.

The sleek coupe turned off the main thoroughfare and slipped past the wrought-iron security gates of Roland Estate.

Alex glanced at the glowing digital clock on the dashboard.

9:32 PM.

A quiet sigh slipped through his teeth as he navigated the winding, tree-lined private drive toward his villa.

Victoria was certainly waiting by now. She was moving into his place tonight, and he had genuinely wanted to be standing by the front door to welcome her properly.

Instead, the evening at the Grand Meridian had dragged on far longer than anticipated. Between cutting through the banquet crowd, sidestepping Naomi Shaw’s clumsy little honey trap, and standing toe-to-toe with Raymond Cole on that freezing terrace, nearly four hours had evaporated into the dark.

A faint pang of guilt stirred in his chest. Making a woman of Victoria’s stature sit alone in an empty villa on her very first night wasn’t the smoothest way to start things off.

Still, a quiet smirk touched his lips as he eased the steering wheel around the final bend. He knew her well enough. Victoria wasn’t a fragile, petulant heiress who threw tantrums over a broken timetable—she was practical, sharp, and understood the demands of a high-stakes play better than anyone.

Besides, he already knew how he was going to compensate her.

Once he showed her the signed deed to 14 Central Corridor to prove his time hadn’t been wasted, and spent the rest of the night properly tending to her in bed until she was breathless and satisfied, whatever annoyance she was nursing would melt away soon enough.

Alex guided the coupe into the open parking bay beside the mansion.

Sitting directly in the adjacent space was a sleek, unmistakable luxury sedan bearing the discreet insignia of the Blackwood fleet. Victoria’s car.

A faint, pleased smile touched his lips. She truly hadn’t wasted a second.

He cut the ignition, letting the quiet purr of the engine die out as the headlamps clicked off.

Usually, the moment his tires crunched across the gravel, Emma or Madison would be hovering near the entrance or peeking past the foyer curtains to greet him.

Tonight, however, the courtyard remained dead silent.

Alex raised a slight brow, stepping out of the car and closing the door behind him with a dull thud. No footsteps sounded from within. No shadows moved across the front terrace. The entire estate was bathed in warm light from the floor-to-ceiling windows, yet not a single ripple of movement stirred from the inside.

Puzzled, Alex stepped up the stone entryway and pushed open the heavy front doors.

The spacious foyer opened up into the main living lounge. The chandelier above cast a bright, golden glow across the polished marble, but an unnatural, heavy stillness hung in the air... the kind of quiet that felt thick and suffocating.

Then his gaze shifted toward the center of the lounge.

Emma and Madison were sitting side by side on the long sofa. Neither of them had moved when the heavy front doors clicked shut.

They sat rigidly upright, their slender shoulders locked tight, hands clenched into white-knuckled fists against their laps. Their faces were drained of color, skin as pale as paper, and their wide, hollow eyes were staring straight ahead into empty space... completely lost in a daze, as if their minds were trapped somewhere far away.

Alex paused near the archway, his brows knitting together in genuine confusion.

The two were usually buzzing with quiet energy whenever he returned, always quick to fetch him a drink or ease the coat from his shoulders.

Seeing them sit there like statues carved from ice... staring blankly into the distance with shallow, ragged breaths... was entirely out of character.

Curious and mildly concerned, he crossed the marble floor, his footsteps quiet against the stone.

Alex reached down and lightly tapped Madison’s shoulder.

The reaction was instantaneous. Madison violently flinched, a sharp, choked gasp tearing from her throat as her whole body jerked back in raw panic. Beside her, Emma snapped out of her daze with a muffled cry, her hands flying up defensively as if bracing for a physical blow.

”Hey, it’s just me,” Alex said, his voice calm and grounding.

The two girls froze. Their wide, bloodshot eyes locked onto his face, blinking rapidly through the blur of unshed tears. For a split second, disbelief held them still... and then the dam completely broke.

Before Alex could say another word, Madison threw herself forward. She wrapped her trembling arms around his waist, burying her face into his shirt with a desperate, suffocating grip. A second later, Emma scrambled to her feet and caught his arm, clutching his sleeve so tightly her knuckles turned white, her forehead pressing against his shoulder.

Their slender frames shook with violent, uncontrollable tremors, their skin cold and clammy to the touch.

Alex frowned, letting them cling to him while his hand settled over Madison’s back, giving her a firm, reassuring rub. He glanced around the empty lounge once more, his senses sharpening.

’What the hell could have terrified them to this degree inside his own villa?’

”What happened?” Alex asked in a low, even tone, looking down between the two. ”Did someone come here? Why are you two shaking like this?”

Madison couldn’t speak; her chest was heaving with small, choked sobs against his ribs.

Emma swallowed hard, her throat bobbing as she tried to force the words out. But instead of answering, her terrified gaze flicked toward the wide spiral staircase curving upward, her eyes fixing onto the closed double doors of the master bedroom on the second floor.

With a hand that trembled so hard she could barely hold it steady, Emma slowly lifted her finger and pointed up the stairs.
