Rebirth in Another World as the Undead Queen

Serea’s Last Wish

”Give Serea back to me!”

The girl roared in fury, to which Serea spread her hands helplessly and said, ”You saying that really puts me in a tough spot.”

Seeing the girl’s face twisted in extreme rage, Serea understood—this was the expression one only showed when they had lost their beloved.

”Haah!”

At the very moment Serea rejected her, she completely lost control. Celia raised the holy sword in her hand and swung it directly toward Serea.

Witnessing this, Little Black and the other Skeleton Warriors wanted to stop her actions, but Serea ordered them not to make any moves.

So, in full view of all the skeletons, Celia’s holy sword stopped steadily just one centimeter above Serea’s head.

And Serea had never intended to dodge from the start, for she had already seen through it: Celia, who loved Serea deeply, could never have brought herself to strike—even if what stood before her was nothing more than an empty shell.

As for Celia, at this moment, tears rolled in her wine-red eyes, for she saw both the passing of Serea’s soul and the birth of a demon!

Serea was already dead, completely vanished from the world. As Serea’s guard, Celia had failed her duty. It was her fault that her beloved had died.

”Poof!”

Blood from her severe injuries trickled from the corner of her mouth.

Seeing Serea’s soul disappear, Celia lost her once unwavering will to protect. At this moment, she no longer had any motivation to continue.

Because she had previously forced herself free from the binding of the Tier-3 spell ’Mana Prison’, her organs were badly damaged—it was already a miracle she had survived until now.

But now, the Serea she had sworn to protect was dead. Having lost the only obsession in her heart, Death was now close for her as well.

”Serea...”

At the end, Celia softly spoke that name. Hearing it, ”Serea” felt a pang of discomfort in her heart, but from beginning to end, she did nothing—she didn’t know what she could do.

She watched as Celia drifted toward death, and Serea shook her head.

”Sorry. I can’t truly understand how you feel, but I promise I’ll live well in this body from now on. That’s the only thing I can do.”

Seeing a tear slide from Celia’s half-closed eyes, Serea observed a moment of silence.

”Hoo...”

She let out a long breath, releasing the suffocating feeling in her heart, and then the new Serea braced herself.

But at that very moment, a stabbing pain shot through her mind. Serea’s vision blurred and she fell down.

”My Queen!”

Little Black hurried up to catch Serea, but no matter how he called, Serea did not open her eyes. That was because Serea—or rather, Lin Yun’s consciousness—had arrived in a pitch-black space.

Looking at this familiar space, Lin Yun recognized it: this was his own consciousness space. But why had he suddenly found himself here?

”You must be the master here.”

A female voice sounded. Hearing this, Lin Yun looked over and saw a woman identical in appearance to himself standing before him.

It was Serea’s true soul!

”Uh... Serea?”

Lin Yun called out tentatively, and the girl nodded in response.

Having confirmed her identity, Lin Yun was confused. Hadn’t Serea’s soul already perished? Why had it appeared here?

Just as Lin Yun thought this, Serea noticed his doubt and explained:

”Honorable Dark sovereign, I have indeed died. This is but my broken soul and will disappear soon.”

”I see. So why have you come here?”

”I beg a favor of you.”

”A favor?”

”Yes. My soul is about to dissipate, so I willingly offer this body to you. I only ask that you grant me one last wish.”

Hearing this, Lin Yun understood her intention.

And since he had taken over someone else’s body, granting her one request was only fair. So Lin Yun asked, ”Go ahead, what is it?”

”I wish to borrow this body one last time.”

Serea voiced this humble request. Lin Yun, however, was a little bit puzzled. ”Borrow this body?”

”Yes.”

Serea nodded. Hearing this, Lin Yun thought for a while and then asked the System, ”System, is it possible for her to take the body back?”

System: Answer: A broken soul does not have the ability to contest control of the body with you.

”That’s good.”

Receiving a definite answer, Lin Yun replied to Serea.

”Alright, go ahead. Do I need to do anything?”

”Thank you for your grace, my lord. All you need to do is stand there.”

”Ok.”

Lin Yun agreed, and in the next second, vision from the real world flooded into his eyes.

He could both see and feel, but control of the body was no longer Lin Yun’s.

Serea’s original soul was now in control!

”How dare you seize Her Majesty’s body!”

Seeing Serea awaken, Little Black roared in anger. He could tell at a glance that the person before him was not their sovereign.

”It’s fine. Let her be.”

To prevent Little Black from interfering with Serea, Lin Yun issued this order, and upon receiving the spiritual command, Little Black settled down and stood aside with the other skeletons.

As the skeletons moved aside, Serea offered Little Black and the others a noble’s salute, then walked toward Celia, who was leaning against the wreckage of the carriage, awaiting death.

Upon seeing the gravely wounded and dying Celia, tears welled up in Serea’s eyes.

But she knew that now was not the time for grief. Although she herself was dead, Celia still had a sliver of hope — she must save her!

With that, Serea hurriedly retrieved a ruby ring from under the driver’s seat at the front of the carriage. It was a treasure tributed to the Ailera Empire by the Otto Kingdom.

With the ring in hand, Serea wasted no time. She quickly put it on, and a beam of light flared up.

The space around the ring warped, and after a moment, a black vortex materialized.

A spatial ring!

This was one of the treasures pledged by the Otto Kingdom, and this spatial ring held many other rare treasures, including the item that could save Celia.

Serea deftly manipulated the ring, producing a milky-white bottle from within.

After retrieving the bottle, she hurried to Celia’s side and opened the lid, allowing a faint golden light to spill out.

Inside was a light blue liquid.

Upon seeing the liquid, Lin Yun instantly received its description.

Dew of the World Tree (Tier 5): Legendary holy water from the branches of the World Tree, said to possess the power to instantly heal all wounds.

Tier 5!

Lin Yun was awestruck, never expecting that the Otto Kingdom’s dowry included such a miraculous item.

Serea was determined to use this dew to heal Celia’s injuries. She aimed the bottle at Celia’s lips and began to pour it in bit by bit.

But Celia was unconscious, and the dew just spilled onto the ground.

”You wastrel!”

Lin Yun’s heart ached—this was a Tier 5 artifact!

But Serea paid it no mind. To her, as long as Celia could be saved, anything was worth it.

But as she was unable to administer the potion directly, Serea—growing anxious—thought of a way.

She took a small sip of the dew herself, then slowly brought her lips closer to Celia’s.
