Berserk God of War

Chapter 1437: Chapter 1437: If You Don’t Become a Demon, Who Will?

The explanation given by the Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow left Sikong Jing incredulous; indeed, it was exceedingly difficult.

Yet he somehow encountered it.

Suddenly, Sikong Jing asked in puzzlement, ”I understand the first three conditions, but how did you know about the last one?”

How can one be certain that they are a person of loyalty and righteousness, seemingly an impossible thing to determine?

Was it discerned from leading the charge to the second castle?

Impossible, because he led only lifeless Battle Puppets, showing no loyalty or righteousness towards them.

”Because of your heart...”

Upon hearing Sikong Jing’s question, the Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow continued to explain...

”When you wanted to find my main body, at that moment you triggered Brother Su’s rule. Did you purely want to find me for personal gain, or did you sincerely want help Alian and thus sought me...”

”That emotion was already evident at that time.”

”Of course, I don’t know how Brother Su did it, but that’s what he said at the time.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing was still somewhat in disbelief.

Just because he expressed a desire to obtain clues about the missing Soul Dominator Venerable, and thereby triggered Grandpa Su’s rule for accepting disciples? Making the rules perceive his genuine desire to assist Venerable Ba Lian? Isn’t that too mysterious?

Suddenly, Sikong Jing was struck with a wild thought of another possibility.

He had still spoken of wanting to find Soul Dominator Venerable, but it wasn’t any emotion that triggered a rule; rather, Grandpa Su required his heir to seek the whereabouts of Soul Dominator Venerable’s main body...

Since Grandpa Su couldn’t persuade Soul Dominator Venerable at that time, his heir would have to find him.

Thus it was triggered.

It wasn’t about loyalty or righteousness, only about Soul Dominator Venerable’s safety, and Grandpa Su never informed Soul Dominator Venerable of it.

Thinking of this, Sikong Jing recalled Grandpa Su’s state before he died, when he decided to accompany Granny Ye without uttering a word... He spoke nothing, quietly carrying out his intentions.

Meanwhile, the Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow, unaware of Sikong Jing’s thoughts, continued speaking: ”Perhaps it was about the will or emotion when you spoke of finding me.”

”In any case, you’ve fulfilled all the conditions to become Brother Su’s heir. Now, I shall take you back to the first castle.”

Before Sikong Jing could react, he felt a force sweeping him away.

When he opened his eyes again, Sikong Jing was already atop the first castle, facing the Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow.

It didn’t surprise Sikong Jing...

Here is the secret realm of Soul Dominator Venerable, sweeping him from the second castle to the first was easier than anything.

So Sikong Jing took a deep breath and calmly asked, ”Even if I’ve triggered all the conditions, I seemingly have no reason to be at odds with the entire Central Plains?”

Of course, this wasn’t Sikong Jing’s honest sentiment, just a question arising from doubt.

How can they be certain he would definitely be against the Central Plains, regardless of releasing the previous scenes, are they not afraid he or other heirs would betray after receiving the items?

One must know that if the scenes just seen were revealed, Venerable Ba Lian could end up very miserable.

Perhaps Grandpa Su was gambling, but what was Soul Dominator Venerable thinking?

”Hahaha...”

The Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow spoke again, laughing heartily...

”Because you are loyal and righteous, so you... have no choice.”

”Though a non-combatant, you possess such terrifying power, you will inevitably become the enemy of all under heaven, you will inevitably become a demon.”

”If you were heartless, perhaps you wouldn’t become a demon...”

”But you cannot be heartless, hence as you inevitably will have attachments, you inevitably would have cherished ones for whom you’d willingly give up your life, you inevitably would speak for those who suffer injustice, you’d challenge all injustices in the world.”

”If you don’t become a demon, who will?”

”Even if you don’t want to, certain vile things like Qianwang Holy Tower will force you to become a demon.”

These words caused Sikong Jing to fall completely silent, then he began to laugh... indeed, they couldn’t be refuted.

The things Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow talked about, were all those that Grandpa Su personally experienced.

And Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow was slightly mistaken, even if someone is heartless, a too powerful non-combatant would inevitably become a demon by the end, no matter how heartless, unable to merge into this world...

Perhaps this is Grandpa Su’s gamble, betting that this heir wouldn’t dare to speak of the matters here, no matter what.

Thus, Sikong Jing nodded earnestly and replied, ”Soul Dominator Venerable, I’ve already taken out one of Pei Kuang’s sons, so I suppose I am bound to become a demon...”

Upon these words, Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow lit up and laughed once more, ”Well done!”

However, immediately afterward, the shadow twisted and spoke with disdain, ”Curses, the heavens have bestowed upon me and Brother Su such an heir, yet Brother Su is no more—why couldn’t Brother Su carry on?”

He only knew that Su Beiheng’s Life Lamp shattered, yet knew not how the latter died.

”I truly wish to see how Qianyuan Soldier Killing Map combined with my Domineering Soul Soldier Killing Map would sweep across the lands, but alas, Brother Su is gone, so Qianyuan Soldier Killing Map must have fallen into those wicked hands...”

”Damn it!”

”Ugh, you retrieved your Emperor’s Artifact so quickly? Don’t you even trust me a little? I’ve said it wouldn’t disappear.”

As Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow was passionately lamenting about fate, he suddenly noticed Sikong Jing hastily taking back the black Emperor’s Artifact stone he’d previously discarded, feeling rather displeased...

Already his heir, yet still afraid the items would vanish?

Yet in the next moment, the Emperor’s Artifact stone in Sikong Jing’s hand emitted a dim glow, followed by an unveiling of a dark gold Soldier Killing Map in Sikong Jing’s hand.

Then left hand, then right hand, presenting two Soldier Killing Maps slowly to Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow’s view.

At this moment, Sikong Jing wore a faint smile and said, ”Soul Dominator Venerable, you have not been let down.”

Buzz...

Upon seeing the dark gold Soldier Killing Map in Sikong Jing’s hand, Soul Dominator Spirit Shadow’s entire being seemed as if it would explode, trembling drastically... the next instant, almost collapsed.

”You, you, you...”

Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow’s voice trembled, pointing at Sikong Jing, entirely speechless.

Stunned, thoroughly bewildered!

Yet Sikong Jing continued to smile, ”Though this isn’t the genuine Qianyuan Soldier Killing Map, it is the modified, stronger version Grandpa Su crafted. It’s what he personally gifted me...”

Thud...

Despite being but a residual spiritual shadow, Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow held the memories and emotions of the body, unable to resist collapsing to the ground!

How could he not sense the intense aura of his Brother Su upon it?

Next, Sikong Jing softly recounted his tale of meeting Grandpa Su.

Yet Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow abruptly interrupted, ”No need to say, I am but a Spiritual Shadow; knowing makes no difference.”

Sikong Jing suddenly paused...

But Soul Dominator Spiritual Shadow then stood suddenly, declaring, ”Continue speaking, perhaps if my main body perishes, the soul will return, thus learning of these things—a chance for peaceful rest.”
