Berserk God of War

Chapter 1402: Chapter 1402: Sikong Jing Is the New Captain

This roar, of course, came from Fan Kui, who frantically raised his head, his whole body shaking violently...

”Great Dominator Technique...”

”Whether it was Captain Yang before or me the acting captain now, we’re no weaker than the captains of other teams. Why should our glory be confiscated just because we are non-combatants?”

”You can dissolve us, but you cannot ignore our contributions.”

”Yes, I, Fan Kui, am just an acting captain... In fact, our new captain is enough to crush all current captains.”

Fan Kui’s eyes were blood-red as he glared at Gong Ying, his voice filled with anger and immense grief.

Yet the crowd only responded with cold sneers, mocking and ridiculing Fan Kui’s frantic roar.

They seemed to be watching a ridiculous clown.

Gong Ying’s expression unchanged, she asked, ”Do you mean to say that I am being unfair to you? Do you want to challenge other captains here and now?”

She didn’t bother asking about the acting captain or new captain business. To her, it made little difference.

Fan Kui closed his eyes, then suddenly opened them wide and replied, ”Yes!”

As soon as he spoke, the entire place fell silent and still, the onlookers exchanging glances, not expecting such a dramatic scene to unfold.

Meanwhile, Sikong Jing in the crowd slowly clenched his fist, understanding the meaning behind Fan Kui’s last words. He was merely the acting captain, while the new captain must be... himself!

Suddenly, a little bird landed on Sikong Jing’s shoulder, chirping away.

Sikong Jing’s eyes slightly brightened, and then he left his original position...

In front of the East Dominator Gate, Gong Ying stared at Fan Kui and said, ”This Great Dominator Technique can accomplish your wish, but according to my rules, if non-combatants wish to challenge combatants, they must first pay the price.”

This rule made everyone present exchange uncertain looks.

”Because non-combatants are lowly, how can the lowly challenge the noble so casually?”

”Otherwise, if each of these lowly ones comes to challenge, how can the noble ones have the leisure to deal with you all, am I right?”

”So the first rule is...”

Buzz...

As Gong Ying spoke, a ray of light suddenly flashed in her hand, followed by a wooden plank full of nails appearing in front of Fan Kui, each nail gleaming coldly, sharp enough to make one’s scalp tingle.

Clearly, these nails were not made of ordinary metal, but were terrifying artifacts.

”Lowly challengers wanting to confront the noble must first walk over this plank of nails.”

”Only then can you challenge. If you succeed, I will acknowledge you remain captain. If you fail, you’ll not only return all rewards but also face the second rule... abolishing your meridians and Dantian.”

Gong Ying paused, no longer paying Fan Kui any attention, instead slowly scanning everyone present.

She spoke again, ”From now on, under the rule of this Great Dominator Technique in the East Dominator Branch, non-combatants wishing to formally challenge combatants must first walk over this plank of nails, step by step, slowly walking across.”

Gong Ying’s rising voice sent a chill through the onlookers.

On a distant high-rise building, Duanmu Chun clenched his fist, ”With such rules, who would be willing to sacrifice for the East Dominator Branch in the future.”

His chest was heaving furiously...

”Brother Duanmu, you’re mistaken. In Gong Ying’s eyes, non-combatants are as numerous as ants; she can have as many as she desires.” Yao Yulou spoke in a deep tone, and then softly said, ”She just wants to establish a noble image for combatants and make them sacrifice for her. In her view, only combatants are qualified to be utilized by her.”

Hearing this, Duanmu Chun closed his eyes deeply.

In fact, he understood that many forces follow such rules, especially those dominated by Qianwang Holy Tower.

”Fan Kui, step over!”

Just then, Yang Li’s eerie laughter echoed in front of the East Dominator Gate, ”Aren’t you going to challenge us captains? Now hurry and walk over the plank of nails, then defeat us, and your Sky Wolf Team can continue to exist.”

Not only Yang Li, other captains also chimed in with jeers...

And Fan Kui stared deeply at the plank of nails before him, knowing this was no ordinary object; walking over it would likely render his feet useless.

How to fight then? How to challenge?

”If you don’t dare to challenge, admit defeat, go back, and figure out how to return what you shouldn’t have received,” Jin Liwu added.

Fan Kui clenched his fist tightly; to fight or not to fight?

Fight, there’s no chance of winning...

Not fighting means the Sky Wolf Team is completely finished in this instant, and those teammates who fought madly alongside Captain Yang and himself, and of course Sikong Jing, will have their spirits utterly crushed.

Not fighting means the belief of the team members will collapse completely, never to recover.

Standing before the plank, Fan Kui clenched his teeth until they bled, filled with hesitation.

”If you dare not, then let your true new captain come, let Sikong Jing come out challenge,” suddenly, a captain coldly mocked Fan Kui.

Everyone knew that after Yang Yi reached the Spirit Martial stage, he handed over the captain’s position to Sikong Jing.

But Sikong Jing was not present at the time, his life or death uncertain.

Therefore, Fan Kui became the acting captain, and if Sikong Jing returned, Fan Kui would still remain as vice-captain.

And Sikong Jing himself was previously unaware of this matter.

A second captain laughed, ”Sikong Jing, isn’t he supposedly dead in the Soul Snatching battle in East Spirit City? How would he come?”

”I heard he didn’t die in the Soul Snatching battle but was taken away and killed by a strong figure after successfully snatching the soul. It’s only that those fools of the Sky Wolf Team still think he could return alive,” replied a third captain.

Next, someone asked, ”Who was he taken away by?”

”Haha, I don’t know the specifics...”

Jin Liwu laughed, replying, ”Anyway, our Duanmu Qian Dabajue went there and couldn’t prevent the strong figure from taking Sikong Jing away. Duanmu Qian Dabajue didn’t talk about this when he returned to cover his incompetence.”

”But in the world, where are there walls that never let through the wind?”

Upon finishing these words, Jin Liwu looked at Gong Ying immediately, and she gave him a satisfied glance.

Instantly, Jin Liwu felt refreshing all over, his flattery hitting just the right spot.

On a certain high rise, Duanmu Chun clenched his fist again, ”These bunch of scoundrels.”

He had just left his post, and the captains who once treated him respectfully started calling him incompetent...

As for the matter of Sikong Jing being captured by Yin Henzi, Duanmu Chun indeed didn’t disclose it after returning, nor did he let Weng Ting and others talk about it. The reason was simple...

It was because Yang Yi had just moved up to the Spirit Martial stage and would often be assigned other tasks.

Without the deterrent presence of Sikong Jing, the Sky Wolf Team would be played to death by other teams, and Duanmu Chun, as the Great Dominator Technique, certainly couldn’t always care for every team.

This matter, of course, was to remain hidden for the time being.

But when such a significant event occurred in East Spirit City, no matter how far away, people would still come to Hanluan City, so the news of Sikong Jing being captured by a strong figure spread to some people’s ears.

However, everyone did not know exactly who captured Sikong Jing.
