Berserk God of War

Chapter 1156: Chapter 1156: Relentless Pursuit, Haunting Shadows

At this moment, Sikong Jing completely didn’t understand why the two Emperor Martial Spirit Shadows regarded him as prey, and yet seemed to want to capture him alive, since they had struck Er Yan away to protect him.

He was utterly confused, but Sikong Jing knew he couldn’t stay. He had to run.

Otherwise, in his injured state, he feared he couldn’t withstand the frenzied attacks of the two Emperor Martial Stage Spirit Shadows. He needed to find time to heal his wounds, and staying would also affect the Weng Family members.

Zhang Duiyi and his sister, as well as the Spirit Battle Realm-ranked Ah Xie, were fine.

Others in the Weng Family, who were only at the Martial Battle Realm level, would be affected by the Spirit Shadows’ power, causing their Spirit Platforms to shatter.

So Sikong Jing turned and fled, using the power of the Blood Devouring Dragon Pearl to accelerate and escape swiftly.

As for the direction, he didn’t care.

Immediately, the two Emperor Martial Stage Spirit Shadows abruptly turned back, no longer caring about Er Yan, and pursued Sikong Jing. Their speed was naturally extraordinarily fast.

Yet during the chase, the two often engaged in skirmishes.

This gave Sikong Jing a chance to escape; as he accelerated, he circulated True Qi throughout his body to recover from his injuries.

”What’s attracting them to me?”

”The bloodline of the Master of Ten Thousand Beasts?”

”Impossible. They were of the Human Clan in their lifetime, so they couldn’t sense the aura of the Master of Ten Thousand Beasts. What could it be?”

Sikong Jing’s thoughts raced as he fled.

Even wracking his brain, he couldn’t figure out the reason, since he knew almost nothing about the Soul Snatching Battlefield.

Now, he only knew that the appearance of the two Emperor Martial Stage Spirit Shadows had completely overturned all the rules of the Soul Snatching Battlefield, only knowing they were hostile to each other to the point of death...

They were likely generals of two opposing forces in this battlefield during their lifetime.

Even after death, leaving only Spirit Shadows, they instinctively wanted to kill each other.

Other than that, Sikong Jing couldn’t guess anything; he could only speed away in one direction...

As Sikong Jing was pursued by the two Emperor Martial Stage Spirit Shadows, in his original location...

After losing the oppressive power of the Emperor Martial Stage Spirit Shadows, the Weng Family members gradually recovered, led by Ah Xie, they stared blankly at the direction where Sikong Jing disappeared.

In the next moment, Zhang Duiyin’s voice crazily shouted, ”Er Yan is trying to escape, capture her quickly.”

The Weng Family members, upon hearing this, trembled, suddenly turned to look at Er Yan, and indeed saw her getting up and trying to run.

”Kill her.” With a command from Ah Xie, the crowd frantically surged forward.

At this moment, Er Yan had already started running, blood spilling crazily from her mouth as she ran, miserably.

Having been attacked by the Emperor Martial Stage Spirit Shadows, her locked limbs and meridians by Sikong Jing benefited from the adversity and were freed, but the injuries were too severe, even her eyes had been gouged out, so she could only flee.

”Faster, don’t let her escape.” Ah Xie yelled furiously, leading over sixty members of the Weng Family in relentless pursuit, with constant roaring.

Among them, two people carried the Zhang siblings, following behind the chase team.

Yet Er Yan was still too strong; despite her critical injuries, the Weng Family members couldn’t catch up, but they struck out sword light from behind from time to time, adding to Er Yan’s injuries, ensuring she couldn’t recover.

And this chase continued for several days.

They encountered other participants in the Soul Snatching Battle along the way.

Er Yan occasionally intimidated and bribed those she encountered, seeking assistance, asking them to eliminate the Weng Family members. If they saw she was a disciple of the Wunian Saint Sect, some didn’t hesitate to act...

But to that, Ah Xie issued only one command, any who dared to help Er Yan... slaughter!

Some dared not interfere, hiding themselves tightly.

Others murmured in disbelief, ”The Weng Family is chasing a disciple of the Wunian Saint Sect, am I dreaming?”

It was utterly inconceivable; they couldn’t fathom the situation, couldn’t believe it at all!

Eight days quickly passed...

”You bunch of trash, once I’m fully recovered, it’ll be your end.”

Er Yan stood atop a mountain peak, roaring and cursing incessantly at those behind her, ”I’ll skin you alive, tear out your tendons, gouge your eyes, rip out your organs... ah ah ah ah ah!”

Although Ah Xie and the others exhausted all means, the eight days allowed Er Yan to regain much strength.

Finally, she managed to evade capture.

After leaving threatening words, Er Yan disappeared behind the mountain peak, vanishing completely.

At that moment, two figures of the Spirit Battle Realm charged forward at top speed, continuing the pursuit; they were Zhang Duiyi and Zhang Duiyin, who regained some strength after eight days.

Unfortunately, when Ah Xie and others arrived at the mountain peak, the Zhang siblings had already returned.

Their faces showed deep frustration. Zhang Duiyin couldn’t help but berate himself, ”We’re utterly useless. Junior Brother Sikong managed to corner Er Yan, yet we let her escape.”

Clearly, they hadn’t found Er Yan; she had already completely hidden herself in the darkness.

At this point, a member of the Weng Family angrily declared, ”She must be hiding in the mountain ahead. Let’s split up and search...”

As soon as the words were spoken, Ah Xie decisively shouted, ”No, we absolutely can’t split up. Only the two East Dominator talents stand a chance against Er Yan, or else people will die!”

The crowd shuddered, smiled bitterly; even with Er Yan gravely injured, they still couldn’t face her one-on-one.

This highlighted the immense gap between geniuses and ordinary people.

Even if Sikong Jing had taught them many skills, including assassin techniques, it was still difficult to change within a short time.

Just then, Zhang Duiyi suddenly spoke quietly, ”It’s been eight days, and we don’t know how Junior Brother Sikong is doing.”

As his words fell, everyone trembled...

The eight-day pursuit hadn’t left them time to ponder this issue, and now stopped, they remembered Sikong Jing being chased by the two terrifying Emperor Martial Stage Spirit Shadows. How was he now?

Hopefully, nothing happened.

”Squeak, squeak...”

Amid their worries, a Mechanical Messenger Bird suddenly cried out from the sky.

Instinctively, Ah Xiang looked up, pleasantly surprised, ”It’s a Mechanical Messenger Bird from our Weng Family, quickly bring it down and check...”

Hearing this, Ah Xiang rushed into the sky to retrieve the bird, then opened the message.

In the next moment, Ah Xiang quivered slightly, ”It’s a message from Miss Weng Ting, she’s calling for help from nearby Weng Family members, she’s surrounded by disciples from Pei Fenyi’s allied force.”

Sixty plus members of the Weng Family widened their eyes.

Ah Xie then looked in the direction where the messenger bird came from, shouting forcefully, ”Since the Mechanical Messenger Bird hasn’t been worn out by Spirit Shadows till now, it proves Miss Weng Ting is not far from us, quickly go to rescue.”

Thus, sixty plus members of the Weng Family, along with the Zhang siblings, sped toward where the bird came from.

As for Er Yan, there was nothing they could do.

...

Elsewhere on the Soul Snatching Battlefield, a blood-red shimmer was madly darting across the dim earth.

Behind it, two streams of light, one red and one black, pursued.

Yet these two streams occasionally collided.

They tangled briefly, only resuming their chase when the blood-red shimmer ahead almost disappeared from sight.

Within the foremost blood-red shimmer, Sikong Jing’s lip twitched continually.

”They’re really relentless. Even though my injuries have healed, I still can’t shake off their pursuit.”

”To deal with them, my Spiritual Platform Sea Power probably needs to be enhanced another level.”
