Nine Revolutions Star Transformation

Chapter 224: Chapter 223: The Assassin in the Forest

Chu Linfeng didn’t escape directly after arriving on the street; instead, he stood there nonchalantly, waiting.

Soon, several people caught up to him, and the middle-aged man, seeing that Chu Linfeng wasn’t running, found it strange and couldn’t help but say, ”Kid, aren’t you pretty good? Why aren’t you running?”

”How am I supposed to kill you if I run? Is everyone here? I’m ready to slaughter pigs.” Chu Linfeng said and slashed out with a sword, attacking the person closest to him.

Naturally, there were many people on the street, curious bystanders watching the fight but keeping their distance to avoid getting involved.

The person closest to Chu Linfeng was about twenty years old, with a somewhat delicate appearance, holding a large knife. Seeing Chu Linfeng attack him directly, he responded with a slash of his own.

The Cyan Frost Sword collided with his large knife in an instant, and the sword qi and knife qi shattered the not-so-sturdy ground of the street, causing stones to fly everywhere, affecting many onlookers.

The rebound force made both Chu Linfeng and his opponent step back a few steps. Chu Linfeng felt a slight pain in his wrist, realizing that this guy’s strength was indeed great, just as the Sword Spirit said, at least of the Seventh Level of Earth Martial Realm.

Chu Linfeng was shocked, and the young man was even more shocked, feeling as if the hand holding his knife was about to break, almost unable to hold it steady. A small nick the size of a rice grain appeared on the blade.

The knife was his cherished possession, already of top-grade Spiritual Artifact level, yet it was damaged in a single clash, causing him great distress. This showed that the other’s long sword was of even better grade and must be obtained.

Seeing Chu Linfeng suddenly launch an attack, the surrounding people also attacked Chu Linfeng one after another, not caring about any notion of unfairness with more against fewer.

After being pushed back a few steps, Chu Linfeng saw several others attacking him and quickly used Shift Form and Shadow to dodge, saying, ”You bastards, you really think highly of me, ganging up together!”

”As long as we can kill you, the other guys won’t care about anything else,” the middle-aged man said.

Chu Linfeng stopped speaking, the Chaos Qi within him circulating wildly around the Earth Star Pill. These people were all experts; he had to hold out until the old man arrived.

”Wind Over the World!” After quickly striking with another sword, Chu Linfeng once again used Shift Form and Shadow. What he really wanted to use was the Ninth Form of the Wind Chasing Sword Technique, Furious Wind Slash.

However, this move required some preparation time to gather wind element molecules, but seeing the current situation, there simply wasn’t time. The only way was to rely on speed to maneuver.

The attack of Wind Over the World was a wind blade attack, countless sword qi wind blades swiftly attacking several people. A hint of anger flashed across the middle-aged man’s face as he said, ”With just this bit of skill, you dare call us out to kill you? What a waste of time.”

He then swung his sword, instantly dissolving Chu Linfeng’s attack, with the residual force splitting open a huge crack in the ground again.

Chu Linfeng knew this guy was definitely a master at the Ninth Level of Earth Martial Realm. His strength was formidable; his current attack power seemed no match for him, feeling slightly anxious as Old Man Xu still hadn’t appeared.

”Everybody attack together! This kid isn’t as great as the intelligence suggested, at most only Eighth Layer strength. Kill him quickly, or it’ll be troublesome when the old man comes,” the middle-aged man said.

Chu Linfeng hesitated about whether to flee. With his speed, these people should not catch up, but he feared the old man wouldn’t find him later, which would be troublesome.

Before he could decide, a few sharp sword qis attacked him, and Chu Linfeng once again used Wind Over the World, then dodged to the side. Lacking martial skills with strong attack power was now his most deadly weakness.

Though he dodged quickly, a sword qi still struck him, leaving a considerable cut and flowing red.

”This isn’t a solution. I have to find a way to leave. I’m not yet strong enough to fight to the death with individuals of equal strength. Surviving is more important, and the old man will surely be able to find me.” With that thought, Chu Linfeng, ignoring his wound, quickly fled to the side.

Continuously using Shift Form and Shadow, his speed astonished those few people.

”Quick, block him! Don’t let the kid escape,” the middle-aged man hurriedly said, not expecting Chu Linfeng to be so fast.

Immediately, a few people pursued the direction in which Chu Linfeng fled. At that moment, an old man amid the crowd, with a face full of smiles, said: ”It’s not bad for you to suffer a bit, to let you understand what being hunted feels like.”

Chu Linfeng pushed Shift Form and Shadow to the limit, his whole body creating an afterimage as he passed through the crowd, quickly exiting the city gate and escaping towards a distant forest area.

Chu Linfeng’s speed left the people from the Assassin’s Guild far behind. Not long after they chased out of the city, he disappeared without a trace. One of them said, ”Third Brother, the kid is gone. What should we do?”

”Don’t worry, he won’t escape. Here, one side is the official road, the other is the forest. If you were to escape, which one would you choose?” the middle-aged man asked.

”Definitely the forest side. The official road is too obvious, easy to get caught up to. The forest can conceal your figure, making you difficult to find,” the person replied.

”That’s right, the kid really fled into the forest. The faster he runs, the sooner he dies. Second Brother has been waiting there for a long time, sure to give him a surprise,” the middle-aged man stated.

”I don’t know how Big Brother is doing. That old man is also a master of the Celestial Martial Realm. We better go check on Big Brother!”

Then the few of them turned back, while Chu Linfeng continued to sprint wildly, only stopping after about half an hour.

”So exhausting! How did I get so unlucky to encounter a few members of the Assassin’s Guild? If that old geezer doesn’t show up, I’ll have to give him a good beating.” Chu Linfeng said, leaning against a large tree.

”You have no chance of seeing him again.” A voice pierced Chu Linfeng’s ears.

”Damn it! I just got here, and those guys have caught up already? This speed is too fast!” Chu Linfeng thought in shock.

Carefully observing the surrounding environment, he found no one around, his mind wondering where this voice came from.

”Stop looking. Kid, your speed is indeed impressive, and your talent is not bad, but unfortunately, you’re destined not to survive today.” The voice echoed again.

At this moment, a middle-aged man wearing a conical hat and a face veil floated down from a large tree next to Chu Linfeng.

”Are you with the Assassin’s Guild too?” Chu Linfeng asked, scrutinizing the newcomer.

”That’s right. Escaping from Third Brother’s hands, you have some skill, but it’s a pity you chose the wrong direction to flee. Choosing the official road might have saved your life, but choosing the forest means you’re doomed,” the middle-aged man spoke coldly, making one feel uncomfortable to hear.

Since there was only one person, Chu Linfeng wasn’t too afraid. At worst, he could let him taste the Lion Spirit Fist, of course, he wouldn’t use it until the last moment.

”You think you can kill me? I don’t believe you have that ability. Come on! Let me see just how awesome you Assassin’s Guild people are.” Chu Linfeng laughed.

”You’re courting death!” Then an immense fist force attacked Chu Linfeng...
