Nine Revolutions Star Transformation

Chapter 202: Chapter 203: Signing the Soul Contract

Before long, Chu Linfeng and the others arrived at the place they had left earlier. The Ice and Fire Dragons had already departed, but at the location where the restrictions were broken, a long-anticipated Teleportation Gate appeared.

”Haha! Boss, those two dragons have broken through the Illusion Realm, and the Teleportation Gate has appeared. Let’s go!” said the Golden Demon Vulture.

Chu Linfeng carefully examined the Teleportation Gate and found that it was constructed using both ice and fire energy attributes. The elemental fluctuations in the energy were very clear. Obviously, this was a Teleportation Gate created by the Ice and Fire Dragons themselves.

This deepened his understanding of the dragons’ abilities once more.

At this moment, the voice of Sword Spirit Yue’er echoed in his mind: ”Lin Feng, enter quickly. This Teleportation Gate will only last for another half-hour. If it disappears, you won’t be able to leave even if you want to.”

Realizing the gravity of the situation from Sword Spirit’s words, Chu Linfeng immediately said, ”Everyone, go inside quickly. This Teleportation Gate will soon disappear, and you won’t be able to leave.”

Just as Chu Linfeng finished speaking, the voice of the Ice Dragon came from the sky: ”Brother, pass through this Teleportation Gate as quickly as possible. Due to the lack of materials, it can only be established temporarily. Time is running out. I hope we meet again!”

This voice was evidently left by the Ice Dragon using a Secret Technique before leaving. Everyone exchanged glances and successively entered the Teleportation Gate.

With a wave of spatial fluctuation, when they reappeared, they found themselves in a heavy snowfall with everything blanketed in silver white.

”Big brother, we’ve returned to the Magic Beast Forest. Although it’s covered in snow, it feels very familiar. About three hundred miles away should be the Teleportation Gate that Zhao Fei and the others used to leave,” said the Purple Demon Thunder Fox.

Looking around, Chu Linfeng had a bad premonition, and he shouted, ”We left here around early summer when the trees were lush with green leaves, but now it’s icy and snowy. Could it be winter already?”

”Indeed, the Magic Beast Forest always gets heavy snow in the winter. Judging by the current situation, it seems we’ve entered the winter season. Does that mean we’ve been gone for more than half a year?” the Purple Demon Thunder Fox said in surprise.

”More than half a year? So the academy competition is probably over?” Sima Jingyi said.

”Yes, that’s exactly what’s troubling me the most. I wonder if the dean will be angry when we return. It’s intimidating just thinking about it,” Chu Linfeng said, feeling helpless. They had only been away for a few days, and more than half a year passed—it was unbelievable.

”The competition in the Magic Beast Forest is over, but the inter-academy student competition should be happening around this time. Maybe we can still make it back in time!” Sima Jingyi said.

As a student of the elite class, she had experienced the inter-academy competition before. The final competition occurs within half a year after the Magic Beast Forest competition. Timing suggests that it’s happening now.

”We mustn’t delay. Let’s head back immediately. Old Jin, transform back to your original form!” Chu Linfeng said promptly.

The Golden Demon Vulture flew with all its strength, the snowflakes hitting their faces painfully, and soon they arrived at their destination.

Looking at the familiar yet unfamiliar Teleportation Gate, Chu Linfeng said, ”Jingyi, you go back first. I’ll be with Xiao Xiao and Old Jin to sign the Soul Contract soon. If the competition hasn’t ended, explain to the dean for me.”

Sima Jingyi understood Chu Linfeng’s meaning, but she thought that signing a Soul Contract shouldn’t take long. It would have been better to do it elsewhere instead of waiting until now.

”Got it, be careful!” Sima Jingyi smiled.

Then Chu Linfeng cleared away the snow on the stone platform in front of the Teleportation Gate, revealing a groove. He took out fifty Demon Crystals and placed them inside, saying, ”Go quickly. Remember to explain clearly to the dean.”

Sima Jingyi approached the Teleportation Gate, but there was no response after a long time. She couldn’t help but say, ”Lin Feng, this Teleportation Gate isn’t responding. Is it broken?”

Chu Linfeng thought for a moment and said, ”Looks like we have to go together. This Teleportation Gate requires 150 Demon Crystals per trip. If I send you alone, I won’t have enough crystals.”

”Haha, I’m not staying because I want to; it’s because you want me to stay!” Sima Jingyi laughed.

”Alright, let’s stay, let’s stay. Old Jin, Xiao Xiao, who wants to go first?” Chu Linfeng asked.

”I’ll go first!” said the Golden Demon Vulture.

Signing a Soul Contract is an extremely painful process. Once signed, there can be no betrayal. If one harbors thoughts of betrayal, the owner can directly erase a fragment of their soul, rendering them an idiot or even causing death.

Magical Beasts generally don’t sign such contracts with humans, unless they willingly agree. Otherwise, it’s simply impossible.

The Golden Demon Vulture suddenly burst into golden light, and a painful screech echoed across the heavens and earth, followed by a Hexagram appearing above Chu Linfeng’s head.

The Golden Demon Vulture’s body gradually shrank, and finally, it flew directly into the Hexagram, disappearing.

The Hexagram grew increasingly brighter, and Chu Linfeng felt a tremendous force tugging at his soul, causing immense pain.

”Lin Feng, separate a wisp of your soul into the Hexagram. The power of the Golden Demon Vulture’s bloodline makes it difficult for the Hexagram to separate souls directly. You’d better hurry; otherwise, it could be dangerous,” Sword Spirit promptly advised.

Hearing this, Chu Linfeng didn’t hesitate. With his Heart Spirit, he forcibly separated a wisp of his soul, an indescribable pain that made him wish he could faint to ease it.

The Hexagram spun in the air for a few seconds before merging into Chu Linfeng’s body. If he were to remove his shirt at that moment, he would see a golden bird image on his back.

Chu Linfeng weakly sat in the snow, his mind throbbing with pain, lacking the strength to speak as he looked at the Purple Demon Thunder Fox with exhaustion.

”Big brother, signing a Soul Contract is indeed painful. Both you and Golden Fur suffer equally. It’s an act that defies the heavens, and it will take at least half a month for him to recover,” said the Purple Demon Thunder Fox.

Sima Jingyi looked anxiously at Chu Linfeng’s pale face and said, ”Xiao Xiao, how can you sign with him in his condition? Let’s wait for him to recover. Missing the competition doesn’t matter; we can simply leave the Celestial Dragon Academy.”

”Sister-in-law, signing a Soul Contract is the most loyal way for a Magical Beast to follow its master. Once signed, separation is impossible for life. If the master dies, the Magical Beast will also die within a few days, which is the effect of a Soul Contract.

Since big brother is suffering so much now, I have an alternative method to leave with him, but I don’t know if he’s willing.”

Chu Linfeng slowly stood up and said, ”What method? Tell me!”

”I can transform into a Magic Beast Egg using a Secret Technique, so you can take me with you,” the Purple Demon Thunder Fox said.

”Is it that simple?” Chu Linfeng asked incredulously.

”Of course not. During the time I’m a Magic Beast Egg, you’ll have to provide me a certain amount of Star Stones daily to sustain my Star Power. Otherwise, my strength will decrease to that of a newborn,” said the Purple Demon Thunder Fox earnestly.

This issue is indeed serious. A slight carelessness on Chu Linfeng’s part could cause her strength to decline, requiring absolute trust akin to a Soul Contract.

The only difference is that once the Magic Beast Egg is broken, one would be free again.

”How long will it take?” Chu Linfeng hesitated, fearing a period as long as three to five years, something he couldn’t commit to.

”Half a year. For half a year, Star Stones must be maintained daily. Of course, the higher the grade of the Star Stone, the easier it is. An Upper Grade Star Stone can be swapped every three days. A Top Grade Star Stone is needed once a month. If a legendary Star Crystal appears, one would suffice.”

”Star Crystal? Oh, then transform quickly; I think I have one...”
