Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 394: Chapter 243 Intimidation (Added more for the love of reading good books)_2

Li Yuanba’s feet lit with the glow of a sword, forming a beam of sword light that allowed him to use Sword Escape to increase his speed.

His gaze was stern, devoid of any emotional fluctuation, filled only with rising Sword Intent and killing intent.

When the Demon Cultivators attacked him, he activated his Sword Escape to increase the distance, distancing himself beyond their attack range.

The problem was that it was their attack range, not his, and with his Divine Thought, although the attack distance of his flying sword was not as far as that of a Golden Core cultivator, it was still much farther than ordinary cultivators using Spiritual Thought.

The Demon Cultivators realized that despite their numerical advantage, once Li Yuanba had broken their encirclement, even getting their Spiritual Artifacts close enough to attack him became a wishful thinking.

Not all Demon Cultivators lacked speed; for instance, Yu Piao, a True Inheritor, was the fastest among them.

But he did not show much speed and stayed with other Demon Cultivators. Du Ke’s dreadful death had shocked him, coupled with having his precious Spiritual Artifact taken away, he was now regretting participating in the act of disputing over the resources Li Yuanba had.

The Demon Cultivators could not reach him, but Li Yuanba’s flying sword was ceaselessly singling them out among the crowd.

Now at the Mid-stage Foundation Establishment, even when facing Late-stage Foundation Establishment cultivators, Li Yuanba did not feel the passive pressure of being suppressed across multiple levels.

The Spiritual Artifacts of Late-stage Foundation Establishment Demon Cultivators might withstand a strike from his flying sword without their spirit imprints being shattered by a single blow.

However, that was not the case for Early Middle Stage Foundation Establishment Demon Cultivators; if their Spiritual Artifacts made contact with Li Yuanba’s flying sword, they would lose control and drop from the sky.

If it weren’t for the Demon Cultivators being very close to each other and covering for each other, several Demon Cultivators would have fallen under the flying sword in just a moment of fighting.

Still, the group of Demon Cultivators could not hold on for long. After about ten Spiritual Artifacts were damaged, the initially united Demon Cultivators started having other thoughts.

It was not the fault of the Demon Cultivators; their nature was inherently selfish. Realizing that the enemy was unbeatable and that continuing the fight would only lead to their sequential slaughter, they only had one choice left, and that was to flee earlier than the Demon Cultivators beside them.

Once the first Demon Cultivator made a move, it influenced the others, and their once stable defense was broken.

Screams echoed continuously as some Demon Cultivators withdrew from the battle, and their adjacent allies could not react in time, allowing Li Yuanba’s flying sword to breach defenses and get close to the Demon Cultivators.

The remaining Demon Cultivators were naturally the first to be slain. Without defense, they were like lambs to the slaughter under the dual assault of the flying sword and Sword Intent.

After several more Foundation Establishment Demon Cultivators died, they completely broke down. Each used their techniques, trying to escape into the distance.

During the process, more Demon Cultivators were slain by sword light, which was faster than their flying speed.

Initially, Lin Ping and Yu Piao realized something was wrong and retreated together, thinking it safer to act in unison.

They quickly realized the problem: Li Yuanba was faster and was slaying their fellow Demon Cultivators who were chasing them.

“Split and escape!” Lin Ping changed direction as he spoke.

Yu Piao also noticed the same problem; without responding, he too changed direction to flee.

Li Yuanba chose Lin Ping. The other Demon Cultivators might escape, but Lin Ping, the True Inheritor Demon Cultivator who had first pursued him, would not be let go.

Seeing Li Yuanba chase Lin Ping, Yu Piao felt somewhat relieved. He continued to increase the distance while observing the distant battle.

It was not really a battle; it was a massacre. Once they lost their nerve, none of the Demon Cultivators had any real resistance left, and those lagging behind were slain by the sword light.

Eventually, Lin Ping stopped thinking about escaping with his fellow Demon Cultivators. He took out a talisman, about to activate it.

Li Yuanba’s energy surged to its peak, holding nothing back.

A white lotus appeared under his feet, and soon, near Lin Ping and the remaining two Foundation Establishment Demon Cultivators, white lotuses likewise appeared.

His figure first appeared beside Lin Ping. With a Third Grade Sword Base in his hand, he swept off Lin Ping’s head under Lin Ping’s horrified gaze. Before the sword light from the kill had faded, his figure had already appeared instantaneously next to another Late-stage Foundation Establishment Demon Cultivator.

Within less than a breath, all the demon cultivators on Lin Ping’s side were slain.

Li Yuanba turned to look towards Yu Piao, who was over a thousand meters away from him at the time, Normally, given such a distance, and Yu Piao being a cultivator skilled in speed, he should have been safe.

But when Yu Piao saw Li Yuanba’s gaze, he couldn’t help but shiver all over. He turned and fled at full speed.

“Damn it, Li Yuanba can actually use ‘Step by Step Lotus’!” Yu Piao thought about the scene he had just witnessed as he fled.

He could guess where Li Yuanba had learned ‘Step by Step Lotus’ from — he must have slain Jue Yuan Buddha and acquired the inheritance from Qianye Temple.

That was a Divine Skills inheritance. A Sword Cultivator who could deploy Divine Foot Skill was terrifying even to think about.

He strained every bit of Spiritual Power in his body. The Cultivation Technique he practiced greatly enhanced his speed.

He needed to escape from this devil, who in his eyes was more terrifying than a Devil Cultivator who had practiced demonic arts.

“What is that?” Yu Piao saw a white flower appear before his eyes, as familiar as a white lotus.

“A white lotus!”, his mind instantly cleared, but it was too late.

Li Yuanba appeared in front of him, and without any hesitation, his Third Grade Sword Base followed with a strike, beheading him.

The fight came to an end here. Li Yuanba’s fighting spirit slowly subsided. He looked over the battlefield, apart from the initial two Late-stage Foundation Establishment Demon Cultivators who had escaped, the 23 demon cultivators who had participated in the ambush against him, including three True Disciples from the Senluo Sect, were all slain by him.

This is what it means to be a Sword Cultivator. Against cultivators of the same realm, through bursts of power and various fighting techniques like hit-and-run, one can achieve absolute advantage in battle.

The unmatched Sword Intent was, at the very least during the Foundation Establishment, an absolute slayer unless it met an ability that could counter Sword Intent, otherwise it would dominate.

Li Yuanba began cleaning up the battlefield. The battle had covered a wide area. Fortunately, he had kept his Divine Thought active. Whenever possible, he collected the spoils from the cultivators he had killed.

Although Du Ke half-escaped, the bracelet left on the wrist of the remaining half body didn’t give him any loss.

Of course, for Li Yuanba, it was exceedingly rare for anything in a demon cultivator’s storage, even a True Disciple’s, to pique his interest.

After cleaning up the battlefield, he gathered the bodies of the demon cultivators, especially the corpses of the two True Disciples.

Those who could become True Disciples were highly likely to have Heavenly Spirit Root.

As for Yu Piao and Lin Ping who were also of Heavenly Spirit Root, these were exceptional materials for Corpse Refining. He might not need them, but trading them for resources wouldn’t be a bad idea.

During the cleanup of the battlefield, Li Yuanba encountered no further attacks.

Unknown to him, the two Late-stage Foundation Establishment Demon Cultivators who had escaped were intercepted by two groups of demon cultivators.

His achievements were spread by the mouths of these two Late-stage Foundation Establishment Demon Cultivators. However, since they had fled too early, they were unaware of the fate of Lin Ping and Yu Piao, or the fact that Li Yuanba had used ‘Step by Step Ascending Lotus’.

Upon hearing of Li Yuanba’s feats, the demon cultivators hesitated to intercept him, as everyone wanted an easy pick, and no demon cultivator wanted to bite off more than they could chew.

The demon cultivators thought about letting other demon cultivators strike first and then see how things played out.

But Li Yuanba’s accomplishments could not be kept secret, and once the two groups of demon cultivators found out, all the necessary demon cultivators knew.

Especially with Lin Ping and Yu Piao missing, everyone knew they had been killed by Li Yuanba along with Du Ke. This further discouraged many demon cultivators.

Resources for forming the Golden Core might simply be carried by Li Yuanba, and whether it was worth risking their lives for such a possibility was now a matter of reconsideration.
