Cultivation is just so scientific!

Chapter 52 Hypnosis

Recalled his drone and replaced its battery, Li Shiming did not deploy it again but started waiting.

According to the information he had gathered, apart from cultivators, the Hao Family consisted of either cultivators in training or ordinary people.

These cultivation families settled near Central Capital for a reason, hoping that if descendants with outstanding spirit root seeds appeared, they could join the sects, boosting the familyʼs development.

The ordinary people who lived there were also direct blood relatives of the Hao Family.

Aside from serving the cultivators, they had the duty to propagate the family lineage.

The more children born, the higher the chance of having offspring with spirit root seeds.

Li Shiming quietly waited, seeking an opportunity.

The gathering of cultivators in Central Capital had informed him of many matters within the Cultivation World.

Such a cultivation family would definitely be protected by an Array; with his power, he couldnʼt confront the Hao Familyʼs cultivators, let alone break through the defensive Array.

He was very aware of his strengths and had a plan in mind.

Every half hour, he would deploy the drone to check the situation inside the Hao Family.

After a long while, his spirits suddenly lifted as the drone sent back an image; through the goggles, he saw a thermal image of a figure walking toward the gate.

Li Shiming took out his pocket watch to see the time was four in the morning; he vigorously shook his head to shake off the fatigue of the night.

He looked towards the Hao Familyʼs main gate through a monocular; a side door next to the Hao Familyʼs main gate opened, and a figure carrying a lantern stepped out and turned right.

Li Shiming maneuvered the drone to survey the nearby terrain, on the right was a small vegetable garden that he hadnʼt paid attention to before.

Now he realized that the person was headed precisely for that vegetable garden.

Under the surveillance of the drone, he too moved towards the garden.

”Always bullying me, once I give birth to a child with spirit root seeds, Iʼll pay back each and every one of you!” Hao Jin muttered under his breath as he walked.

Being a direct descendant of the Hao Family, Hao Jin bore the heaviest responsibilities and couldnʼt help but complain.

Every day, he had to prepare three meals for numerous family members, but notably not for the cultivators, who ate Spirit Food, which he did not prepare.

Since, the Hao Family was a Cultivation Family with too many secrets, they didnʼt employ servants; everything was done by the ordinary family members.

”Donʼt make any sound, or Iʼll kill you!” a Longsword was pressed against the back of Hao Jinʼs neck, accompanied by a hoarse voice.

Taken by surprise, Hao Jin dared not move a muscle.

Having dealt with cultivators for so long, he had lost all sense of courage.

”I am from the Hao Family, my great grandfather is a cultivator at the Qi Refining Sixth Level!” Hao Jin spoke softly, terrified that he might provoke a fatal stab with any louder voice.

”Donʼt do anything foolish, I donʼt wish to hurt you, just help me with some tasks!” Li Shiming whispered sternly.

Hao Jin quickly nodded, then winced as the nod caused the sword at his neck to prick him, scaring him into stillness.

”Before you help me, take this pill first!” Li Shiming continued to command.

A black pill was presented next to Hao Jinʼs head; under the threat of the sword, he took the pill and swallowed it.

”The pill you have swallowed is known as the Three-day Soul-breaking Pills. If you donʼt take the antidote within three days, your body will rot and you will die after three days. Just obey me, and I will give you the antidote!” Li Shiming said gravely as he watched him swallow the pill.

This was a practical application of what he had learned; this method was the same one that Chief Escort Wang had used to deal with him. It was effective against ordinary people, and even the Three-day Soul-breaking Pills were those of Chief Escort Wang.

Hao Jin was not startled by the name ”Three-day Soul-breaking Pills”; instead, knowing that he didnʼt have to die immediately somewhat calmed his heart.

As a mortal within a Cultivation Family, he was aware of the means of cultivators. No matter how potent the poison, cultivators had ways to counter it.

”Turn around and look at what I have in my hand!” Li Shiming commanded in a stern voice.

Carefully turning around, Hao Jin saw a person in black, his face hidden behind a strange mask. Seeing the longsword in the black-clothed manʼs hand, he harbored no thoughts of resistance.

Although he was a mortal, his scope of knowledge was not meager. He recognized the longsword as a Magic Artifact.

Even the weakest Magic Artifact indicated its wielder was a cultivator. He had a deep understanding of the vast chasm between mortals and cultivators.

His eyes fell on the object in Li Shimingʼs hand, a flat circular object suspended by a metal chain.

At that moment, the flat circular object was swinging from side to side, and his gaze inadvertently began to swing along with it.

This was Li Shimingʼs first time using hypnotism, but his theoretical foundation was unparalleled. After making the pocket watch, he had taken the opportunity to look up methods for using a pocket watch for hypnotism.

With his learning capabilities, he had quickly mastered the theory.

Hao Jin, living among cultivators yet bullied within the Hao Family, possessed significant psychological defects due to his character and mindset. Explore stories on empire

Of course, in this world, there was little research into psychology, and nobody knew about this fact.

However, whether they knew it or not, these psychological defects provided an opening for hypnotism to penetrate his mental defenses.

Hao Jinʼs gaze gradually became confused, and he appeared to be in a state of slumber.

”Twenty breaths from now, you will forget that you met me. The liquor on the ground was prepared by you in secret. You will transport it inside without alerting anyone!” Li Shimingʼs voice was like the temptation of Hell, a whisper of a demon.

Afterward, he placed four one-meter-tall jars on the ground along with a carrying pole, then his figure vanished into the darkness.

Hao Jin stood in place, staring blankly for twenty breaths, then suddenly started with a shock upon seeing the jars on the ground, his expression excited.

He picked up the carrying pole and hoisted two of the jars, heading towards the Hao Family residence.

Due to the hypnotism, his strength seemed immense, effortlessly bearing the weight of the two large jars.

By now, Li Shiming had moved far away, only stopping when he deemed it safe. He then took out a monocular to observe Hao Jinʼs actions.

With every sway of the jars, Li Shimingʼs heart raced, fearing any premature mishaps.

Hao Jin arrived at a small gate, a faint white light flashed, and the gate was already open. He carried the load through the gate.

The defense Array of the Hao Family had identity detection, which made it impossible for outsiders to enter.

Hao Jin put down the two jars along the kitchen corridor, then turned and exited the gate to fetch the other two jars.

Li Shiming took out his pocket watch to check the time, then took out a huge pancake made from ʼstarlifeʼ material, covering his entire body with it.

He also activated a ʼprimary expelling talisman,ʼ creating a hand of Spiritual Power to cover the huge pancake with mud mixed with grass, burying his whole body within the mud, his drone also retrieved.
