My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

No matter what was said, Wan Jie refused to let Chu Feng leave, insisting on taking him back for investigation.

At that moment, her colleague pulled her aside and whispered, ”Xiao Jie, just let it go. These guys are S-Class wanted criminals. They’ve committed over a hundred crimes across the country, and they’ve hit Beihai City at least twenty times. A while back, our city government was even looking to get help from some Martial Arts Families. We never thought we’d be the ones to run into them.”

”If it wasn’t for this brother, we probably would’ve never caught these bastards in our lifetime. So, just drop it. Don’t make things difficult for him.”

The Inspector wanted to take the criminals away quickly. After all, Chu Feng had basically handed them a huge commendation. Harassing him after that was going a bit too far.

”No. It’s procedure. Until the investigation is complete, he has an obligation to cooperate with us, regardless of his identity,” Wan Jie said coldly, having no intention of letting Chu Feng off the hook.

”Xiao Wan, you should be careful. This kid was able to capture those two master thieves, which means he’s quite powerful. If you push him too far, it probably won’t end well for us,” another, slightly older Inspector chimed in.

While the Inspectors were talking, Scarface regained consciousness. Although his face was pale and he had lost a lot of blood from the dart, he was a Martial Cultivator, after all, and his recovery rate was relatively fast.

He lifted his head and stared daggers at Chu Feng.

”You bastard, you’re from the Chu Family?”

Although the two were heinous criminals, they had been navigating the underworld for years. As Martial Cultivators, they were quite knowledgeable.

Therefore, when Chu Feng had used the Taiqing Fist earlier, they had recognized it, because only the Chu Family knew this Fist Skill.

”What’s it to you? Just quietly accept your punishment,” Chu Feng said indifferently.

He then dialed Su Miaoke’s number. He had no choice. The officer was insisting he come along, so he had to make the trip, but he needed to tell his wife first.

Otherwise, Su Miaoke wouldn’t know where he had gone and would surely worry herself to death.

”Honey, something’s come up over here. I need to make a trip to the Inspection Bureau,” Chu Feng said.

”Huh? Why? Why do you have to go to the Inspection Bureau all of a sudden?” Su Miaoke asked anxiously. ”What happened? Did you get into some kind of trouble?”

”No, honey, trust me, I’m fine. I’m just going to cooperate with an investigation. I’ll tell you everything when I get back. Have Zhao Quan take you home,” Chu Feng said.

”Alright, then. I’ll wait for you here. If it gets too late, I’ll come to the Inspection Bureau to find you,” Su Miaoke said.

”Okay, just don’t worry. Wait for me.” Chu Feng hung up.

”I can go with you, but can I drive my own car?” Chu Feng asked.

”You want to drive your own car? No. You’ll ride in ours,” Wan Jie said with a resolute look, clearly not about to give Chu Feng any leeway.

”Fine. You’re the boss.” Chu Feng was seething, but he had no choice but to comply.

’Who told me to be a good citizen of Beihai City? When it comes to the Inspection Bureau, of course I have to cooperate.’

”What? Are you threatening me?” Wan Jie asked coldly, hearing the tone in his voice.

”How would I dare? You’re an Inspector, and I’m just a humble citizen. How could I possibly go against you?” Chu Feng said icily, feeling utterly speechless.

’If she wasn’t from the Inspection Bureau, and a woman at that, I probably would’ve knocked her flat on her ass by now.’

Chu Feng got into the car himself, not wanting to speak to her any further.

Wan Jie walked up to the two criminals and said to the Inspector beside her, ”How are they supposed to walk when they’re tied up like this? Untie them. Just putting them in handcuffs will be enough.”

”Don’t! Just shove them into the car as they are. If you untie them and they escape, will you take responsibility?” Chu Feng barked immediately.

It was precisely because these two were highly skilled and powerful that Chu Feng had trussed them up so tightly, ensuring their key acupressure points were completely restrained.

The moment those ropes were loosened, they could break free from a simple pair of handcuffs with ease.

However, Wan Jie paid no attention to Chu Feng’s words.

”You two, go. I’ll keep an eye on them. If either of them dares to move, I’ll blow their brains out.” Wan Jie pulled the pistol from her hip and pointed it at the two thieves.

She was extremely confident in the weapon in her hand, believing that with it, the two thieves wouldn’t dare make a move.

If they dared to try anything, she would pull the trigger without a moment’s hesitation.

’I refuse to believe it. Aren’t these guys made of flesh and blood?’

Although she had heard they were powerful, she was convinced they wouldn’t dare cause trouble in front of a gun.

Seeing this, Chu Feng felt his anger flare up.

’Countless Martial Arts Families have tried to hunt down these two thieves and failed. Now that they’re finally caught, this brat is being utterly reckless.’

Chu Feng had no choice but to get out of the car.

The moment the ropes were loosened, the two criminals’ eyes had started darting around, likely plotting their escape.

But when they saw Chu Feng approaching, they immediately dropped the idea.

After all, they had already suffered at Chu Feng’s hands and knew how powerful he was. Trying to escape right in front of him was simply impossible.

Besides, Chu Feng would never let them get away.

Chu Feng watched as the Inspectors untied the two thieves and cuffed their hands behind their backs, but that method was only effective on ordinary people.

”I’m riding in the same car as them,” Chu Feng stated.

”No! So you can beat them up some more? Look at the state you’ve already left them in!” Wan Jie refused flatly.

She then had her two partners get in the same car with the two thieves.

’This woman is dangerously naive. She has absolutely no idea what she’s just done.’

Her words made Chu Feng so angry he wanted to slap her across the face.

Even though Chu Feng had injured them, these two were still Martial Cultivators in the Qi Cultivation Realm. Against ordinary people, even in their current state, each of them could probably take on a dozen, maybe even several dozen men.

’And a mere pair of handcuffs is supposed to hold them?’

Wan Jie was far too self-assured, believing that since her partners were armed, the two thieves would be too scared to try anything and would just behave.

”Aren’t you afraid they’ll escape?” Chu Feng demanded.
