Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2159: Conclave

The Ouroboros Queen stood tall and commanding as she presented her arguments, her voice echoing through the grand chamber. She detailed the Faulen power play that had forced the Ouroboros princess, into perilous situations. Her tone grew sharper as she underscored the grave implications of kidnapping a student from the Magus Academy, risking not just inter-clan relations but the broader stability of the Magus Universe.

”Such an act is a direct threat to the sanctity of our shared institutions.”

Philip Corvin, a well-known figure among the bloodline communities, stepped forward to bolster her argument. He presented detailed data about Princess Shintaʼs placement in the top 10 halls, emphasizing her participation in the final round of the Academyʼs mid-examination during the incident. His words were backed by solid evidence, painting a vivid picture of Shintaʼs dedication and the circumstances of her abduction.

”They took her while she was wounded,” Philip said, his voice carrying a mixture of indignation and sorrow. ”She was fighting to bring honor to all bloodline communities, just like her father.”

Despite Philipʼs compelling speech and the strength of his evidence, his affiliation with the wolf bloodline caused many of the serpent leaders to dismiss his words. They exchanged skeptical glances and murmured amongst themselves, their biases clouding their judgment.

Sensing this, the Ouroboros Queen deftly redirected the focus back to the universal harm such actions posed to all serpent communities. Her voice rang with authority and indignation as she emphasized the broader repercussions.

The Ouroboros Queen continued her assault on the Viceroyʼs competence, questioning his wisdom and asserting that his actions rendered him unfit to lead the Ouroboros community in the patriarchʼs absence. She pointedly referenced his reckless decision from two decades prior, when he withdrew all serpent factions from Magus Alliance activities, opting for neutrality during the bloodline conflict. This decision, she argued, had greatly damaged the serpentsʼ standing among the broader Magus Universe, resulting in significant lost opportunities and weakened alliances.

Her argument found strong support from influential figures within the assembly. The Emerald Elder from the Boa faction, along with the Kruk King, vocally backed her claims. These two medium factions, which lay outside the Cerulean zone, had suffered the most from the Viceroyʼs decision. Even factions within the zone had experienced their share of losses, making the Queenʼs points resonate deeply with many present.

With the obvious change of mood within the conclave, the Ouroboros Queen seized the moment to make her bold statement.

”I move for a vote to dissolve the Faulen factionʼs supreme authority over all other factions,” This bold demand elicited an immediate response from King Corlies of the Targaryan faction. Rising to his feet, his presence commanding attention, he retorted, ”The Serpent clans have been united since the time of our great hero Raylin Faulen 10,000 years ago. Silviana, are you trying to break us apart?!”

The room buzzed with murmurs, the weight of history pressing down on the assembly. The Targaryen Kingʼs words invoked a deep-seated respect for tradition and unity that resonated with many presents.

Breaking the tense silence, the Mauritius Monarch, leaned back in his chair and remarked casually, ”I agree. We need to stay united. This dissolution would do no good to us all.”

The unexpected stance of the Mauritius Monarch caught many off guard. Many thought that the Giant Monarch would be on Ouroboroʼs side, however his true intentions soon became clear.

”No, to preserve our unity, we need one leader. I propose that it is time Faulen steps down and allows another faction to lead,” the Monarch declared, his voice resonating with authority.

A wave of whispers and murmurs rippled through the assembly, leaders exchanging glances filled with suspicion and curiosity. The Shaman Queen of the Jafar clan, spoke up with an amused laugh, ”Daniel, tell us, who do you think among us could be the next leader?”

The Giant Monarch, Daniel Mauritius, fixed her with an intimidating gaze, his expression unyielding. ”Certainly not the opportunistic Targaryan,” he replied, a smirk tugging at his lips as King Corliesʼ face flushed with annoyance.

Daniel continued, his tone growing bolder. ”Among the three major clans, my support will be towards the Ouroboros Silver Serpent.”

The intricate alliance between the Ouroboros and the Mauritius became increasingly apparent, far more profound than many had anticipated. The typically reserved Giant Monarch, Daniel Mauritius, spoke with uncharacteristic passion, laying out his thoughts with clear conviction. ṟàƝỘ₿Êṧ

”The Ouroboros Queen has built a reputation over more than a thousand years,” he began, his voice echoing through the chamber. ”She is known for her compassion towards her friends and ruthlessness towards her enemies. Over the past twenty years, she has been instrumental in mending our relationship with the Magus Alliance.”

The assembly listened intently as he continued, ”Furthermore, her close ties with Zodiac City and now her new bond as in-laws with the one wolf carrying the Alpha legacy cannot be overlooked.”

Daniel paused, allowing his words to sink in before delivering the crux of his argument. ”All these benefits hinge on the Faulen factionʼs willingness to quickly release the Ouroboros princess.”

Unlike the earlier statements made by Philip Corvin, the words spoken by the Serpent faction leaders carried considerable weight. This was largely due to the historical significance of the three major clans, whose titles were not merely a reflection of their size but rather a testament to their ancient and powerful bloodlines.

The Ouroboros clan, with their Kemoyin serpent bloodline, were renowned for their mastery of poisons. The Targaryen clan, descendants of the winged serpents, boasted unparalleled agility and swiftness. Meanwhile, the Mauritius clan, with their giant Jormungand serpent bloodline, were known as the strongest of all.

The Giant Monarch, Daniel Mauritius, commanded immense respect across all factions. Even the five medium clans aligned with the Faulen faction couldnʼt ignore his influence. His words began to sway opinions within the conclave.

However, despite everything proceeding as planned, Queen Silviana remained uneasy, The Viceroy had not yet responded to any of her arguments.

When Roland Faulen, the Viceroy, finally stepped into the discussion, his presence commanded attention. ”All are excellent aspirations,...I will genuinely consider these proposals, and might even go as far as supporting this to the patriarch.” His gaze then shifted toward the Ouroboros Queen and the Giant Monarch, a sly smile playing on his lips. ”...Only if any of you could reach the Supreme Realm.”

These words quickly brought smug smiles to the faces of the leaders allied with the Faulen faction. King Corlies went so far as to laugh openly, mocking the Giant Monarchʼs previous statements.

Not finished, the Viceroy continued, ”I think Iʼve made my point here. Many of us have been stuck at the peak of the Grand Magus realm. All I have done, all the patriarch has done, was to reach this goal. The Supreme Gene Project was created for this purpose.” His expression turned sincere as he looked towards the Ouroboros Queen. ”Itʼs regretful that to reach such a goal, sacrifices have to be made.”

These words were the final straw for the Ouroboros Queen. Her resolve hardened, and she sent the message giving Emery the green light to proceed.
