Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2080: Rank Up

Shintaʼs bold wager of 5000 contribution points shocked the gathered acolytes. For many, it was a substantial sum, representing a significant portion of their weekly earnings. The audacity of such a challenge, particularly from a rank 8 acolyte, was met with a mixture of astonishment and disbelief.

For the tiger half-blood, the challenge was more than just a test of strength—it was a matter of pride. To be challenged in such a manner, was a direct affront to his honor. With a fierce glare, he accepted the wager, his determination burning brightly in his eyes.

However, Shintaʼs response caught everyone off guard once again.

With a dismissive shake of her head, she redirected her challenge to another senior, her actions defying all expectations. ”I mean not you... do you think I am stupid?” she stated, her voice laced with a hint of amusement.

She turned to one of the other seniors and pointed ”You… I will fight you!”

The senior she singled out was a second-year goat bloodline ranked 30th in the hall.

All were taken aback by the unexpected challenge. Though not as formidable as the red tiger, he was still a force to be reckoned with, his reputation as a skilled combatant preceding him.

The gathered acolytes watched with bated breath as Shintaʼs strategy became clear. It was evident to all that she was strategically choosing opponents whom she deemed within her capability to defeat, all in pursuit of maximizing her weekly contribution points without taking undue risks.

As the red tiger acolyte deliberated over Shintaʼs challenge, she interjected with a pointed remark, her tone laced with mockery. ”If you are not daring enough, donʼt worry then...”

Unable to tolerate Shintaʼs taunts any longer, the rank 30 goat half-blood leaped into the arena, ”I accept... I will make Junior like you learn some manners!!”

Shintaʼs response was nonchalant as ever, ”5000 points, let everyone be the witness,” she stated casually, as she solidified the terms of their wager.

To the astonishment of everyone present, Shinta unleashed a strength that surpassed her previous bout, engaging in a fierce exchange of blows with the goat bloodline senior. However, despite her efforts, it became evident that she was beginning to falter, her stamina waning with each passing moment.

As the intensity of the battle escalated, the senior acolytes surrounding the arena erupted into a cacophony of shouts. Meanwhile, the first-years watched with bated breath, some beginning to lose faith in Shintaʼs ability to emerge victorious.

Being cornered, Shinta was exposed to an attack, allowing the goat bloodline to deliver a powerful strike to her back. The impact sent her crashing to her knees, seemingly struggling to regain her composure.

”Finish her!!” a senior bellowed, their voices echoing throughout the hall. ”Beat her up!!”

However, to everyoneʼs astonishment, the goat bloodline didnʼtmove, his expression contorted in agony as he clutched his fist. A collective gasp swept through the crowd as horrifying lumps began to form on his hand, oozing black mucus.

”Poison!!” someone cried out, the realization dawning on them.

”You little vicious bitch!!!”

With agility and precision, Shinta deftly maneuvered around the arena, evading the goat bloodlineʼs attacks with calculated ease. It took only a matter of minutes before the poison took its toll, causing the goat bloodline to collapse in defeat, his arm overwhelmed by the toxic substance.

Seeing his adversary incapacitated, Shinta swiftly negotiated the terms of her victory, trading the antidote for her hard-

earned winnings.

[You received 5,000 contribution points]

The notification flashed before her, signaling her success.

”Alright, I am done here, thank you!!” she announced.

The sudden turn of events left all the acolytes in stunned silence. The red tiger acolyte, consumed by rage, accused Shinta of cheating by employing a secret weapon. However, Shinta remained unperturbed, responding with a flat expression. ṝÀƝồΒĘꞩ

”There is such a rule? You should have said it sooner… I really dont know” she retorted, her words dripping with sarcasm.

As she continued to justify her actions, arguing that real battles often involved hidden tactics and unforeseen challenges, the other acolytes could only listen in disbelief. Shintaʼs shameless justification and logical reasoning left them speechless.

With a grin directed at the red tiger, Shinta delivered her final verdict. ”Regardless, I have won… You can challenge me again next week,”

Enraged the red tiger leaped into the arena, his desperation palpable as he demanded another bout. Shinta met his intensity with a subtle smile, her eyes glinting with amusement.

”Alright, if you insist… I am willing to do another fight… but how many contribution points do you have?”

It was evident that Shinta wouldnʼt accept the defy without a significant advantage for herself. The tiger, his pride wounded, grudgingly declared, ”12,000!” After a momentʼs hesitation, he added, ”No secret weapon!!”

With a confident smile, Shinta said. ”Deal, let everyone here be the witness!” she announced, her voice carrying a hint of excitement. She casually took out her [Myriad Venom Suit] and handed it to Nimbus, entrusting her with its safekeeping. Then, with a nonchalant stretch, she prepared herself for her third consecutive fight.

”I am ready!!”

As the red tiger unleashed his fury, his transformation enveloping him in a crystallized red fur, he launched a barrage of attacks with newfound strength. However, much to his dismay, Shinta had been concealing her true power in the previous two fights, and now she was ready to unleash it in full force.

The tiger, a formidable rank 9 acolyte with seven pillars formed, proved to be a fierce adversary. Had Shinta remained at rank 7, she might have faltered against his onslaught. However, her recent growth over the past 10 days has been remarkable. Enhanced battle prowess and improved movement techniques kept her one step ahead of the relentless tiger. His anger-fueled charges only served to further tip the scales in her favor.

Yet, it was Shintaʼs newly honed innate skill, Poison Breath with increased darkness power, that ultimately secured her victory. With each exhale, she unleashed a venomous mist that slowly numbed her opponent, gradually diminishing his battle power. As the tigerʼs strength waned, Shinta seized the opportunity to claim her triumph.

The red tigerʼs expression twisted in disdain at her tactic, but Shinta nonchalantly dismissed his objections.

”Well… this is not a secret weapon,” with a wicked smile she said, ”You lose, pay up!!”

Shinta leaves the hall at rank 25, and 17,000 contribution points richer. She also manages to somehow exact revenge for the first year; however, her tricks make both first-years and seniors wary of her. As for the instructors, they find her intriguing.
