Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2079: Ranking

Among the 30 left-wing acolytes, the majority were occupied by seniors.

Out of the 16 newly recruited first-years, three had managed to advance to the west wing: Rajh the tiger bloodline, Rurik the Pyro Bison, and the mysterious legendary raven bloodline. The remaining 12 were all ignited in a fiery rage by the seniorʼs insults.

Despite the brewing tension and anger in the hall, Shinta remained stoic and indifferent.

She couldnʼt help but agree with the sentiment that many of the first-years were merely filling the slots. In her view, the primary motivation behind this strategy was to receive a larger portion of benefits from the academy.

Some might speculate that the new head instructor was cunning enough to employ this shameless strategy. Her aunt believed that such a move would only raise threats to the half-blood community in the academy. However, for Shinta, the only fact that mattered was that this strategy meant there were a lot more contribution points distributed among the acolytes.

As the other acolytes continued to engage in heated arguments, Shinta maintained her composure and took deliberate steps toward Brianna, the female instructor in charge of distributing the weekly contribution points.

With a polite demeanor, Shinta approached Brianna and made her request for her weekly share of contribution points. The wolf magus raised her eyebrows, visibly taken aback by Shintaʼs sudden appearance and request. It was clear that Brianna was bothered by the fact that Shinta had been absent for some time and was now seeking her share.

Despite her irritation, Brianna reluctantly acquiesced to Shintaʼs request and handed over the weekly points. This behavior wasnʼt uncommon in the top hall, where acolytes with exceptional talent or powerful backgrounds often received special treatment. As one of the lowest-ranking assistant instructors, Brianna had limited authority to refuse such requests from top-tier acolytes.

Reluctantly, Brianna handed over the allotted weekly points to Shinta. However, to Shintaʼs dismay, the amount fell short of her expectations.

[1000 contribution points received]

”What!? Only 1000?”

Shintaʼs surprised reaction gives some satisfaction to the female instructors. She then explained the rule established by the head instructor regarding the distribution of contribution points.

According to the rule, acolytes ranked 1 to 10 received 25,000 contribution points per week, while those ranked 11 to 20 received 15,000 points, and ranks 21 to 30 received 10,000 points. The allocation decreased progressively, with ranks 31 to 40 receiving 5,000 points, and the remaining ranks, including Shinta at the bottom, receiving only 1,000 points.

Unfortunately, this weekʼs contribution points had already been distributed, leaving Shinta with no choice but to wait until the next week to receive her share. This realization left her with no immediate solution to her current lack of contribution points.

Consequently, Shinta found herself embroiled in a heated argument, silently observing the situation. She watched as a few other first-years made valiant attempts to ascend into the top 30 ranks, which were predominantly occupied by seniors.

Among the first-year acolytes, only Kehinde managed to secure a place in the top ranks, holding the 28th position. Even the legendary bat half-blood, despite his valiant effort, fell short and attained only the 33rd rank. Nimbus, Shintaʼs acquaintance and fellow rank 8 acolyte, fared worse at rank 39.

Having gained insight into the power dynamics within the left-wing acolytes, Shinta stepped forward with confidence. She was the only first-year who had yet to reveal her true strength.

”Itʼs my turn!” she announced boldly.

As a member of a mythical bloodline, there were certain expectations placed upon Shinta by her peers. They hoped she would outperform Kehinde and defeat the arrogant red tiger, as well as Ron the strongest in left wing hall who held the 21st rank. However, Shintaʼs current rank 8 status made such expectations seem improbable.

To the surprise of many, Shinta selected the weakest among the seniors—a second-year monkey bloodline ranked 36th. This decision disappointed some of the first-years, but Shinta remained undeterred as she confidently ascended the arena.

The transformation of the monkey bloodline acolyte was a spectacle to behold. With a primal roar, he underwent a startling metamorphosis, his form morphing into that of a formidable half-blood with dark fur and iron-like muscles. As the transformation was completed, he stood before Shinta, a daunting opponent radiating raw power and agility.

The acolytes watched intently as the two adversaries engaged in a dynamic dance of combat. The ape acolyteʼs movements were swift and precise, his attacks relentless as he sought to corner Shinta and overpower her with sheer force. ṟαΝօ𝖇Ê𝐒

This shows that there were no weak seniors among the top hallʼs ranks, each having received the best facilities and education available.

As a middle-stage rank 9 acolyte, the monkey half-blood was expected to outmatch Shinta, who was still at rank 8. Yet, Shinta exhibited remarkable agility, deftly evading his attacks.

The battle raged on for over a hundred clashes, and as it reach climax, Shintaʼs determination shone brightly. With a final burst of energy, she seized the opportunity to turn the tables on her opponent, launching a flurry of strikes that caught the ape acolyte off guard. With a resounding blow, she delivered the decisive strike, sending her adversary crashing to the ground in defeat.

Her triumph was met with mixed reactions among the first-

years and seniors alike.

However, to the surprise of everyone present, Shinta directed the same haughty comment toward the red tiger acolyte.

”You all can see... a rank 8 defeated one of the seniors, I think, they are not that tough!” she proclaimed, fixing the red tiger with a meaningful gaze and a chuckle.

Shintaʼs bold declaration echoed throughout the arena, eliciting a mixture of shock and indignation from the senior acolytes.

The red tiger acolyteʼs face contorted with rage at Shintaʼs words, his pride wounded by her dismissive attitude. He lashed out with a string of expletives, his rage fueling his desire for retaliation.

”Bitch! Fight me now!”

Shinta remained unfazed by his outburst. With a subtle smirk, she delivered a cutting retort

”Are you stupid? Not only am I still in rank 8... I am also tired from the last fight...” she remarked, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

The tiger acolyteʼs anger reached a boiling point, his fists clenched in frustration as he seethed with indignation. Yet, despite his fury, he found himself unable to refute Shintaʼs words.

With a casual shrug, Shinta said. ”Alright, if you insist... I am willing to do another fight... but make it worth my time... Letʼs say 5000 points,” she declared.
