The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order

Chapter 1878: An enemy from outside the universe

Book 20 – World War

—

Infinite. That was a word often thrown around with reckless abandon. Whether describing the scope of a battle, the potential of a cultivation path, or even the sheer size of a universe, it was a term wielded frequently, but rarely with accuracy.

In the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe, even ”infinite” faltered under the weight of truth.

For even an ArchDeity, crossing a single Empyrean World from one end to the other was a monumental task, one that could take years depending on the laws of space-time in that region. Traveling from one Empyrean World to another? That was even more complicated—not merely because of the laws dividing each plane, but because of the staggering distance between them.

Even if nothing obstructed their path, an ArchDeity would likely die of old age before visiting every single Empyrean World. And considering these beings could live for hundreds of millions of years, that was a terrifying realization.

And yet, despite its size and majesty, the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe was not infinite.

There was a periphery, a border beyond which no one had ever returned. Reaching this border was a task reserved for the most ancient and secretive superpowers. The current Nine Empyrean Suns Universe did not seem to have anyone who could reach that barrier.

And to cross it? That was believed to be impossible, even for those beings who had transcended normal understanding of power. And even if they could, what was beyond the barrier could break the mind of an ArchDeity.

Beyond the edge of the universe, there was no time. No space. No gravity, no elements, no laws. Even the most transcendent entities of the Third Realm—creatures who could survive in broken dimensions where space-time lay shattered—could not persist in that realm of nothingness.

Yet, all that impossibility did not stop what was about to happen.

What first appeared as an obsidian monolith, larger than the Everstrife Empyrean World, was moving.

But it was not moving of its own volition.

It had been thrown.

Launched like a projectile through the formless abyss, hurled with such force that even the concept of motion strained to contain it.

It had been moving through this nothingness for who knows how long, and now it finally collided with the barrier that protected the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe.

”BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!”

The sound shook reality itself.

A shockwave so massive it could rupture the surface of an Empyrean World exploded outward as the monolith struck the divine perimeter. The barrier, forged by the Supreme Laws of the universe, trembled.

As for the monolith, it shattered. However, it was at this point that one could see that the monolith was just a shell. As for what was inside.

It was chaos.

From the monolith emerged a lifeform. A writhing mass of fleshy tendrils, dripping with corrosive energies and bathed in malice. Its body churned with no fixed anatomy—only the suggestions of pain, hunger, and hate.

Maws gaped across its shifting surface, ringed by jagged, asymmetrical teeth, each one a spiral of consumption. Some mouths were partially fused into the creature’s skin, others fully open—revealing voids so deep, they seemed to gnaw at the edges of space itself. Along its form were twisted sockets—eyes or the mockery of them—staring in all directions.

Then came the sound.

”ARGHHGHGHRRHHSGGAHAHAHSGD!”

A shriek. A howl.

It was not a scream meant for the ears of mortals. It wasn’t even meant for gods. It was pure madness, channeled into vibration. No entity in the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe, no matter how depraved or powerful, could have produced a sound like that.

The beast launched itself at the barrier, biting down with its maws.

In response, the universe fought back.

The cosmic perimeter erupted in radiant brilliance, releasing shockwaves of divine energy. Any one of those shockwaves could have broken the skeleton of an ArchDeity, yet the creature endured them. It anchored itself to the wall with its tendrils, gnawing and corroding with acid-like secretions from its mouths.

Time passed. Hours. Maybe more.

Then—

”Crack.”

A fissure formed.

Minuscule, perhaps only 0.0001% of the total barrier’s size—but it was growing.

Then came the voice.

Not a voice from a throat. Not one entity. It was as if millions of minds spoke in unison, louder than thunder, soaked in purpose.

”WELCOME THE ROOT.”

The words reverberated not through air or space, but through cause and effect itself.

”WELCOME TO THE UNITY.”

The chant repeated. Over and over. The maws bit deeper. The tendrils clutched harder. The crack widened.

—

While the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe faced a silent threat, explosions louder than supernovas echoed within the Crimson World.

Multiple layers of reality within the Crimson World burned as battles between Prima Deities erupted by the hundreds. The skies were ignited with divine fire. The oceans boiled and the earth shattered. But it wasn’t just the higher powers locked in death struggles—even mere Legends and Sky Lords had taken up arms.

It was bloodshed. Unfiltered and absolute.

Some battlefields were so destructive that they had torn rifts into the Void Beyond Realm, leaving scars across the astral fabric. ArchDeities ripped each other’s hearts from their chests, bellowing war cries that shattered stars.

What began as a conflict within the Ninth Realm of the Crimson World had, in just a few short years, spread like wildfire, consuming every corner of the super-universe. Even Alpha-Omega Overgods had been drawn in, shaking entire realities with their duels.

In a small kingdom within the Third Realm, a brutal war was underway. Millions of Sky Masters and Legends clashed on scorched soil, their blades soaked in divine blood. And as they fought, they screamed the creeds that had brought them into this madness.

”In the name of the Demon King—FOR LIFE!”

”In the name of the Ancient One—FOR FREEDOM!”

The chants rose above the slaughter like hymns to chaos.

Across the layers of the Crimson World, the same chants echoed. The same oaths were repeated. It was more than war now—it was frenzy. It was a level of destruction not seen since the Great War.
