My Youth Began With Him

Qin Zhaozhao sat at the president’s seat and lowered her head with a serious expression. “Let’s begin.”

“President Qin, Mu Chen isn’t here yet. Should we wait a while more?” a female artist reminded her.

“No need.” The CEO’s tone was cold.

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door…

Everyone looked up and saw Liao Muchen in jeans and a white short-sleeved shirt leaning against the door with a lollipop in his mouth.

“Sorry, President Qin, I’m late… There was a traffic jam,” he explained as he took out a lollipop from his mouth.

Qin Zhaozhao tilted her head and looked at him. “We couldn’t get through to your phone because of the traffic jam?”

“My phone is out of battery.”

“Your manager’s phone is out of battery too?” Qin Zhaozhao asked, feeling slightly angry. After all, it was not the first time he had been late for a meeting.

“My manager didn’t bring her phone and left it in the makeup room at the headquarters,” he quibbled.

Qin Zhaozhao glanced at him and lowered her head to look at the documents. “Don’t think that just because you’re popular, you can disregard everyone.”

“Of course not. Even if I don’t care about others, I care about my boss…” Liao Muchen smiled cheekily.

“Go back to your seat for the meeting,” the CEO said.

He staggered in and did not sit in his seat.

Instead, he sat in the first row, next to Pudding, and looked at his boss with his hands under the chin.

Liao Muchen was GK’s most popular male star.

Speaking of which, it was amazing. He had only become popular for less than half a year.

Half a year ago, GK held an audition, ‘Tomorrow’s Star’, to recruit newcomers, and Liao Muchen won the competition with 80 million online votes.

After receiving the opportunity to sign a contract with GK, this newcomer signed a ten-million-dollar contract with GK. No one could compare to him for a period of time.

What was even weirder was that this kid always went off-pitch while singing and could not stay immersed in acting.

His dance moves were not up to standard and he always went off-topic during talk shows.

But it was this kind of person, who could not do anything, that actually occupied the top spot in the industry.

His Weibo topic alone had trended more than 100 times.

His number of Weibo fans had even increased from 20,000 to 18 million.

Every time he posted on Weibo, the comments below would reach 500,000 people.

His reposts had even surpassed 20 million, so in the first half of the year, he had 12 endorsement offers.

And they were all international A-listers…

So many seniors in the industry were so jealous of him.

Qin Zhaozhao had always looked down on this boy, thinking that he had no talent at all and relied solely on his devilish face.

More importantly, his face…

Thinking of this, Qin Zhaozhao rubbed her temples in frustration.

“The company will be preparing to film three big films in the second half of the year. One of them will be a collaboration with Hollywood in the United States to film a catastrophic blockbuster. Our company has already confirmed that we will invest 500 million yuan in it. We have obtained a position that has a major acting role.”

Hearing this, there was a commotion below…

Everyone thought that Liao Muchen would be the one to get such a good opportunity.

Unexpectedly, the president changed the topic and said, “I’ve discussed with the board of directors and we’ve decided that Lu Jia will play the role.”

The moment she said that, everyone was shocked.

Who was Lu Jia? He had been in the company for three years but had never been popular.

Back then, he was nominated because he acted in a youth idol web series. Due to the high click rate, GK’s manager took a liking to him.

After he joined GK, the company gave him some projects, but he never became famous because he couldn’t find a suitable persona.

In terms of popularity and appearance, he was incomparable to Liao Muchen.

“President, I have an objection.” Liao Muchen took out his lollipop and raised his hand again.

“Speak.” The young CEO glanced at him.

“Why not me?” He was daring enough to ask. He went straight to the point and addressed the CEO in front of everyone.
