My Youth Began With Him

Huo Mian walked into the courtyard with a troubled look on her face. It was nine o’clock.

Her mother was still knitting a scarf for her and Zhixin.

She bought the yarn herself, which was cheap. Her mother was weaving with her agile fingers.

Soon it would be winter and they could use it.

Huo Mian poured a glass of warm water and walked up to her mother.

“Mom, have some water… take a break.”

“Okay.”

Yang Meirong happily took the water and put down the ball of yarn in her hand.

“Mom, I want to tell you something.”

“Speak.”

“This weekend, our class is organizing an outdoor field trip. We’ll be back about Sunday. The teacher and classmates are all going.”

1

“Sure, you should go then… How much do you have to pay?”

Yang Meirong was about to take money out of her pocket.

“No need, Mom. It’s sponsored by the family of one of the girls in our class. Her dad’s a businessman, and he has an outdoor clothing brand. It just so happens that they’ve got everything ready for us, and we will have food prepared.”

“It’s free?” Yang Meirong was surprised.

Huo Mian nodded.

“Oh my, that’s a good thing… But we can’t take advantage of her… We have to give her something in return… Coincidentally, a few days ago, I went with my neighbors to dig up a lot of wild vegetables and mushrooms. Take them to her. They’re pure green and can’t be bought in the market.”

“Um, I don’t think that’s necessary. People might not care about that.”

“Nonsense. Rich people love to eat these pure green products. These are good for lowering blood sugar levels.”

Huo Mian had no choice but to follow her mother to find the wild vegetables, wash them, and wrap them in plastic wrap.

She wondered if Qin Chu would reject her if she brought this with her.

1

In a flash, it was Friday.

Everyone was excited that day. Liu Siying was still looking for an opportunity to persuade Qin Chu.

1

Qin Chu ignored her, preventing her from saying anything.

Zhu Lingling, on the other hand, leaned next to Huo Mian’s ear excitedly. “This time, I’m going to avenge you and make things difficult for that evil bitch.”

1

“Don’t. There’s no deep hatred between us, why do you have to…”

“Who are you talking about? Fly Liu is always targeting you…”

“It’s okay, she didn’t do anything to me.” Huo Mian smiled.

“That won’t do either. I’ve already thought about it. I’m going to take my own caterpillar… and take the opportunity to put it on her.”

1

“I don’t think you should do that, it’ll scare her to death.” Huo Mian was also afraid of bugs.

“Don’t worry. That woman is so vicious. She might just eat it. After all, it’s high in protein.”

“Um…” Huo Mian suddenly felt nauseous.

After school, everyone went out of the west gate together. Liu Siying’s father hired a huge bus.

After driving her classmates away, Ms. Yao also went.

There was also a small bus that was especially used to store the students’ supplies. They had really invested a lot.

When they heard about this event, the other classes were very envious.

There were actually classes that started to imitate them. Every class had quite a number of rich second-generation heirs.

Therefore, it was not difficult to go out on field trip for two days. Those who were not well-to-do would be considered to have benefitted because of others.

“Come with me.”

Qin Chu couldn’t stand the sight of Huo Mian staring at her classmates leaving with a pitiful expression.

Not willing to let the girl he liked suffer. That’s probably what all the guys at that age feel.

1

After Qin Chu and Huo Mian left through the front gate, they saw a silver BMW X6 parked there.

Qin Chu opened the door and let Huo Mian into the car.

Then, he sat in the back row.

“Young Master.” The driver quickly greeted him.

“Let’s go.”

“Alright, sit tight.”

Then, they started the car. Huo Mian really didn’t bring anything except her bag.

Qin Chu took out two bottles of water, opened one, and handed it to her.

“Thank you.”

Qin Chu didn’t say anything. After a while, he said gently, “It takes three hours via the highway, bear with it.. We’ll eat when we get there.”
