My Youth Began With Him

Upon hearing what Qin Chu said, Huo Mian was indeed hungry, and her stomach growled.

Huo Mian followed Qin Chu into the simple room constructed with boards.

As expected, there were already two dishes on the wooden table.

There was a big pot of fish and a vegetable dish.

Then, Auntie Wang brought over two bowls of fragrant rice.

“Little President Qin, the fish just came out of the pot. It’s very hot. You and your friend have to be careful.”

“Okay.”

Qin Chu nodded and sat down across from Huo Mian.

“This fish can only be eaten here. It’s Auntie Wang’s specialty,” Qin Chu said as he picked up a large piece of white fish and placed it in Huo Mian’s bowl.

Upon hearing Qin Chu’s praise, Auntie Wang smiled. “My ancestors were chefs for high-ranking officials in the Qing Dynasty. The high-ranking officials loved to eat fish, so my ancestors changed their methods of cooking fish. Our Wang family knows 107 ways to cook fish alone.”

“107… eh…” Huo Mian was shocked.

Perhaps she really hadn’t eaten anything good before. Usually, she only ate it steamed, boiled, braised, spicy, stewed, or sweet and sour.

“Among the hundred over recipes, this is the most delicious. It’s our Wang family’s secret recipe. Little girl, quickly try it.”

Huo Mian was also very interested after hearing her say that.

She picked up the fish, put it in her mouth, and tasted it.

As expected, the fish meat was extremely smooth and tender. Not only did it have a refreshing fragrance, but there was also a slight spiciness in her mouth after she swallowed it.

It was different from all the fish she had eaten in the past. It was so fresh.

“Is it good?” Qin Chu asked.

“Yeah, it’s super delicious.” Huo Mian smiled.

Qin Chu didn’t say anything. He lowered his head and scooped a bowl of fish soup for Huo Mian.

“It’s a little spicy. Drink it slowly.”

“Okay, I won’t stand on ceremony. I’ll definitely eat more. You don’t have to trouble yourself… Eat your own food.”

After Huo Mian finished speaking, she picked up the bowl of rice and started eating.

Since she was already here, she naturally had to eat her fill.

Huo Mian didn’t have the shyness that girls usually had.

In her eyes, eating and sleeping were the most important things.

Huo Mian felt a sense of happiness after eating this hot pot of fresh fish and the other exotic dishes.

Actually, she had been eating well at home, and her mother never treated her and Zhixin badly.

His mother’s culinary skills were exceptional, especially handmade dumplings.

However, this fish still aroused Huo Mian’s appetite.

In a little while, the bowl of rice was finished…

“Auntie Wang, I want another bowl.”

“Let me scoop it for you.”

“No need, I’ll go by myself.” Huo Mian stood up with a smile, not treating herself as an outsider.

“It’s in the kitchen’s rice cooker.” Auntie Wang smiled when she saw how polite the young lady was.

Huo Mian walked to the kitchen door with her bowl and suddenly remembered something.

She turned around and asked Qin Chu, “Do you want more? I’ll bring you some.”

Qin Chu: “…”

Qin Chu didn’t seem to understand what Huo Mian meant and didn’t know how to respond.

Seeing that he didn’t say anything, Huo Mian turned around and walked in.

She filled her bowl to the brim.

Then, she scooped another half and placed it on the bowl. It looked like it would fall off at any moment.

She carefully returned to the table.

Before Qin Chu could say anything, she used her chopsticks to scoop the extra rice into Qin Chu’s bowl…

Qin Chu froze.

That was because he had never eaten like this in the past decade.

The Qin Family had their own rules when it came to eating. Qin Chu’s father was always frugal, so no one had leftovers.

However, this was the first time someone had transferred rice from their bowl to his own.

He was a clean freak, but he didn’t stop Huo Mian.
