My Youth Began With Him

“The night scenery tonight is not bad…”

Huo Mian looked up at the sky and didn’t respond to Gao Ran.

Gao Ran didn’t know why Qin Chu was interested in this weird genius.

However, he knew that it wasn’t easy to get anything out of Huo Mian.

Just like that, they walked for a while and chatted all about irrelevant things.

Huo Mian knew that Gao Ran was only willing to take her home because of Qin Chu.

Therefore, she had to thank Gao Ran and Qin Chu for their kindness.

Huo Mian was confused; shouldn’t Qin Chu dislike her?

Before Huo Mian came to Second High, Qin Chu had always been number one.

Now that Huo Mian was here, Qin Chu would forever be the second.

Many of her classmates talked about it behind her back or tried to sow discord, but Huo Mian never saw any hostility in Qin Chu’s eyes.

She had to admit that she was glad about that.

At GK Group’s Conference Room.

After the meeting, Qin Chu’s father didn’t forget to ask his son.

“Chu, what do you have to add?”

“I don’t think we need to bid against the Huo Corporation for the demolition project in Eastern Jiujiang,” Qin Chu said.

“Oh? Tell me about it.” Mr. Qin looked at his son with interest.

Qin Chu stood up. His black shirt was always eye-catching.

There was a rare calmness on the young man’s face.

“The Huo Corporation has been counting on real estate for their development for the past few years. Most of the land in the city center has been bought by big developers. Although the government hasn’t implemented any policies yet, it’s obvious that Eastern Jiujiang will become a valuable piece of land. However, that probably won’t happen in the next few years. After all, the city’s subway hasn’t been popularized yet… The distance to Eastern Jiujiang is too big. If we build a residential area there, it won’t sell like hotcakes. Everyone will still choose a prime location. So, if we invest a large amount of money there, it’ll be equivalent to setting aside a huge sum of money there. I don’t think there’s a need for that… We might as well invest in a new energy source… I think there might be considerations about environmental issues in the future. Coal, fuel, and other energy sources that pollute the environment might be replaced. Why don’t we develop a project first? This will prepare us for a confident battle in the future.”

After Qin Chu finished speaking, the shareholders all nodded.

“Young Director Qin is right. President Qin, I don’t think we should follow the Huo Corporation in those construction projects… GK didn’t rely on real estate alone to reach its current status. Young Director Qin’s words make sense. Projects involving new energy sources may become a huge cake in the future.”

“Okay, we’ll discuss this later. Let’s call it a day.”

After the meeting, Qin Chu and his father left the conference room one after another.

“Let’s get in the car. Your mother made soup at home. She’s waiting for us to drink it when we get back.”

Mr. Qin looked at his son lovingly.

“Dad, I have something on. I’ll go out for a while. You can go back first.”

1

“Shall I get the chauffeur to take you?”

“No need, I’ll take a cab myself.”

“Be careful then.”

“Okay.”

Qin Chu nodded, picked up his jacket, and got into a taxi after leaving the company.

Then, he called Gao Ran.

To Huo Mian’s surprise, she didn’t even get to walk into her house,

And Qin Chu arrived. Hailing a taxi was indeed faster than taking a bus.

1

Qin Chu arrived just after Gao Ran had left.

“You… why are you here?” Huo Mian looked at the travel-worn Qin Chu.

“Is there a cinema near your house?” He looked up at her with his clear eyes.

1

“Uh, there’s one.”

“Come, watch a movie with me.”

1

He almost gave her no chance to turn him down. Qin Chu turned around and started walking, leaving Huo Mian with her bag on her back and her head lowered. She had no choice but to follow him.

This was the first time Huo Mian felt like this person was a little domineering.
