My Youth Began With Him

“Because you’re my buddy.”

Qin Chu said shamelessly.

“D*mn you… Now you remember that I’m your buddy…”

“Are you going to take her or not?”

“No.” Gao Ran threw a tantrum.

“Okay then, I won’t force you. That limited edition album of Huang Jiaju’s…”

“Wait… are you saying that if I take her, you’ll give me the album?” Gao Ran finally understood.

Qin Chu nodded slightly…

“Deal.”

Gao Ran turned back on his own words and stood up.

“Let’s go, top student. I’ll take you home…”

“Um… I thought it’s not on the way for you?” Huo Mian was speechless.

“It’s fine, I miss my grandma a little, I’m going to visit her…” Gao Ran said calmly.

“Gao Ran, don’t you think you’re being hypocritical?” Zhu Lingling couldn’t take it anymore.

“Don’t get yourself involved in everything…”

“Hey, what about me? Who’s going to drive me back? Qin Chu, can you take me?”

Zhu Lingling wondered why everyone was talking about who was going to take Huo Mian. What about her?

“Isn’t your house only three stops away from school? Plus, the bus 146 will be on service until ten,” Qin Chu said.

“Very good, you are really ruthless… You even know this…”

The four of them parted ways at the ramen store entrance. It was really convenient for Zhu Lingling to return home. After all, it wasn’t that far in the first place.

Qin Chu hailed a taxi and left.

Gao Ran, on the other hand, was in a tough spot. He took the bus with Huo Mian and transferred two times to reach Eastern Jiujiang.

Along the way, the two of them chatted quite naturally.

“Gao Ran, your family seems to be doing well. Why is your grandmother still living in Eastern Jiujiang?” Huo Mian was curious.

“My grandparents have retired, and they have a courtyard house in Eastern Jiujiang. They like to grow some flowers and plants, it’s very carefree.”

“That’s right, the entire city is undergoing renovations. There’s only one flat area left in Eastern Jiujiang,” Huo Mian said.

“Yes, but it will be demolished soon. By then, you will be the second generation of the demolition… Haha.”

Huo Mian: “…”

“Oh yeah, Huo Mian… don’t you think Qin Chu treats you a little differently?”

“No, we’ve been in the same class for almost two months, and we’ve never exchanged more than 20 sentences,” Huo Mian answered truthfully.

“Then you should be content. We were middle school classmates. There were girls who had attended lessons with Qin Chu for three years and they still haven’t exchanged a single word.”

Huo Mian: “…”

“Are you shocked?”

“Yeah. A little.”

“That’s his personality. He doesn’t like to talk and especially doesn’t like to talk to girls,” Gao Ran said.

“I can tell.”

“But he seems to want to talk to you…”

“No, if he really wanted to talk to me, he wouldn’t have asked you to take me home.” Huo Mian smiled.

“That’s because you don’t know where he is going tonight.” Gao Ran smiled mysteriously.

Huo Mian froze.

Then, Gao Ran continued, “Chu’s the only son in the family. He’s been attending board meetings with his father since he was 10 years old. At 15 years old, he’s already able to hold meetings for the board of directors on his own. Every Friday, GK’s senior management meetings are held, and all the shareholders are present. This is the promise he made to his father. Otherwise, do you think he’d let me take you home?”

“I see…” Huo Mian was shocked.

To be honest, Qin Chu was only 17 or 18 years old.

Yet he still had to go to the office for a meeting every Friday after school. It’s amazing.

“Huo Mian.”

“Hm?”

“If Chu is really going to woo you, would you be willing?” Gao Ran asked.

Huo Mian blushed upon hearing this.

This guy was just like Zhu Lingling; he didn’t know how to be more subtle with his words.
