My Youth Began With Him

“That’s nonsense. Don’t be such a doomsayer.”

Hearing his despairing words, Han Yueyao reprimanded him in displeasure.

“Yao, the doctor told me my condition. You don’t have to hide it from me… Without a compatible kidney, I won’t last a year.”

“One year is a long time. We’ll find it for you.”

With a lump in her throat, Han Yueyao soothed him gently.

“What if we can’t find it?”

Lin Hang looked her in the eye and asked slowly…

Han Yueyao went silent, not knowing what to say; she felt like crying.

“Yao, do you know that even though I like converting cars and have a mechanic shop, it isn’t my real dream.”

“Don’t tell me you want to be an actor.” Han Yueyao tried to joke with him.

“No, no, no. Show business doesn’t suit me. I wish I could build a small house in a small village; I’d like to grow vegetables in a small yard and watch the wild flowers in the mountains during spring, green trees during summer, yellow leaves in the fall and snow covered mountains in the winter… I’d like to build a fire in my small house and hunt in the mountains; I want to drink heartily and eat meat in gusto, living a carefree life…”

“That sounds great. You made me want to live like this, too.” Han Yueyao smiled.

“If I can get better, I’ll go to a village and become a hunter and you can be a village girl. What do you think?”

“Haha. Good idea.” Han Yueyao laughed.

“But no village girl can be as beautiful as you… With your tender skin, it would be a shame for you to live in a village.” Lin Hang smiled tenderly.

“It’ll be fine. My skin will turn red and rough after exposing it to the winds for a few days…”

“Yao, don’t pay for the treatment for me anymore and let me get out of the hospital. If you truly want to help me, you can buy a small house for me in a village and help me realize my last dream. After my death, you can sell the house and get the money back. I’ll rest without regrets.”

“Pooh… Don’t talk about this nonsense… You won’t die; you’re still young. Xiaoxiao said she’d find a girl for you from the army.”

“Let’s not talk about it. Please dance for me… I especially like the first dance you did on the Dance of the Century show… It was your first time on stage. You were nervous but the dance was extremely beautiful… When I watched it on TV, I was amazed by your talent…”

“Okay.”

With a smile, she stood up and played the song on her cellphone; then she danced in the ward for Lin Hang.

She never thought she had a big heart, but she was willing to satisfy this small wish of Lin Hang’s. She truly hoped he would get better; after all, he was still young.

The next morning at the GK Group.

After the morning meeting, Qin Chu returned to his office and turned on the surveillance system immediately.

He saw nothing was out of order in the house and the woman was eating breakfast leisurely in the living room.

But at 5 AM this morning, a 12-year-old boy from the western side of the city died with his heart gone and blood drained.

Qin Chu didn’t know how she left the house without them noticing.

“President Qin, you have a visitor.”

“Who is it?”

“She said she’s Young Madam’s friend. The big star Han Yueyao,” Assistant Yang reported.

“Han Yueyao?”

Qin Chu found the name quite familiar; then he remembered her.

“Let her in.”

Qin Chu closed the laptop and stood up solemnly.

“President Qin, I’m sorry if I disturbed you.” Han Yueyao walked in and nodded at Qin Chu politely.
