My Youth Began With Him

“Han Yueyao, the old Su Yu might be an excellent man in your eyes but not the current one. The old Su Yu is dead. I don’t know why you love me. If you want money, I can give you money; if you want popularity, I can give you popularity; if you want fame, I can give you that, too. I could even give you sex. But if you ask me for love, I’m sorry but I can’t give you that. You know and everyone in the world know that I gave all my love to Huo Mian.”

Su Yu said the words earnestly and knew Han Yueyao would get hurt.

But he had to say it since he didn’t want to lie to her and allow her to waste her youth on him.

After Jian Tong and Nie Lingxue, Su Yu didn’t dare to allow any woman to love him, afraid he’d hurt them…

Su Yu would feel better if Han Yueyao loved him for fame, money, or something else, but he knew Han Yueyao’s personality and she didn’t love him for those superficial things.

Since she was bold enough to say she loved him, she must mean it.

But Su Yu could give her everything but love; in his heart, there was no love left for her.

Standing behind his door, An gritted his teeth in anger.

“President Su is so silly; he’ll miss another good girl. Miss Han is truly a nice girl… It seems our permanent bachelor will remain single…”

They thought Han Yueyao would cry her heart out at the rejection, but to their surprise, she didn’t.

She swallowed back her tears and smiled; it was a sweet smile.

Looking at Su Yu, she said, “God is fair to everyone. When you love someone without getting your feelings returned, God will give you a person who is as stubborn as you are to love you wholeheartedly. Su Yu, I know you want to stay by the side of Sister Mian for the rest of your life, and I’m willing to stay by your side for the rest of my life…”

“Han Yueyao, please don’t do this… You’ll regret it…”

Su Yu felt bad; he hadn’t expected the girl would be so stubborn.

“Then let me ask you a question: do you regret loving Sister Mian for so many years?”

“No,” Su Yu said frankly.

“That’s it then. I feel the same… Since I made the choice, I won’t regret it… In fact, in the big world, it’s not easy to meet someone you can love wholeheartedly… I’ll never regret my decision… So, Su Yu, no matter what kind of person you were, are, or will be, you’ll always be in my heart; no matter if you’re bad or good, no matter what great things or wrong things you did, you’re always Su Yu, the great guy I love… I don’t need you to accept my love. All I need is for a chance to be a friend to you just as you’re a friend to Sister Mian. All I need is staying by your side and watching you live your life happily… That’s enough for me.”

“Han Yueyao, you can’t do it. You’ll get married someday… Don’t be stupid and waste your life on me.”

“Will you someday give up on Sister Mian and get married?” Han Yueyao asked another difficult question.
