My Youth Began With Him

“It’s not that I don’t have confidence, it’s that I really don’t have enough face to see her anymore.”

“If you need face, then most of the couples in the world would break up. In love, there must always one person who is more shameless. If both parties have too much self-respect, then neither person will give in and take the risk to approach the other.”

“Young Master Su, are you a love expert now?”

“Forget it, I don’t have time to talk to you about this… Anyway, you ought to think carefully about this issue with the child.”

“Did my mom call you?” Shen Mingxi asked.

“Don’t worry about that. I’m telling you all this because I care. You don’t have to send the girl to a welfare agency, but you can find someone to adopt her… you don’t have to take her with you,” Su Yu said.

“Then Young Master Su, if something happened to Huo Mian and Qin Chu is incapable of taking care of them, then their twin girls will have nowhere to go home to. Will you just sit back and watch?”

“Of course not.” Su Yu didn’t even think about it.

“So that’s it then. Put yourself in someone else’s shoes.”

“That’s not the same thing, Mingxi.”

“How is it not? They’re both the women we love…” Shen Mingxi forced a smile.

“There has never been any resentment or misunderstanding between me and Mian… unlike you and Huo Yanyan…” In Su Yu’s heart, no one could be compared with Huo Mian.

Shen Mingxi also knew he couldn’t argue with Su Yu any more about Huo Mian since he had made this mistake in the past.

“Alright then… you’re handsome, so everything you say is true.”

Su Yu: “…”

“I’m off, get in touch with me if you need to.”

Su Yu had turned around and stepped out of the Shen residence when he received a WeChat message from Nie Lingqi with Xixi’s phone number in the States.

Without stopping to think, Su Yu dialed the number.

“Hello?” It was a man who answered.

“Hello, I’m looking for Xixi,” Su Yu said in English.

“Who is this?” The man seemed displeased.

Su Yu immediately reacted and did not answer his question, but instead asked, “Is this Rick?”

“Yes.”

This was indeed classic Rick. He was always cold and wasted no time on nonsense.

“Perfect, I was actually looking for you.” Su Yu switched back into Chinese.

“And you are…?”

Rick and Su Yu weren’t too well-acquainted, so he couldn’t tell from the voice who it was.

“Su Yu.”

“What’s up?” Rick continued in the same cold tone.

“Something’s happened to Qin Chu, did you hear?”

“What happened?”

Su Yu then gave Rick a quick rundown about how Huo Mian was taken over the side of the cliff, and Qin Chu was in a coma.

After listening, Rick remained silent.

“Rick, are you still there?” Su Yu was depressed, and he found it difficult to communicate with this silent bloke.

He couldn’t understand why Nie Lingxi’s sister, Xixi, would like this man.

“I’m listening… what do you need to do now?”

Rick knew that Su Yu must have a plan if he was trying to seek him out.

“The military doctor from Jing City said that he hoped we could get in contact with one of Qin Chu’s mentors or classmates from Harvard Medical School. If we can find an excellent hepatologist, and he can administer an antidote… then I’m hoping they can come over and perform surgery on Qin Chu. ”

“Okay.”

“Let’s keep in touch. If you have any news, please tell me.”

“Okay.”

With this, Rick hung up. That was just the person he was. Once you tell him about the situation, he knew exactly what to do.

There’s no need to press me, I am certain I can take care of this task. The lack of expression or reaction doesn’t mean that I don’t care.

After he hung up the phone, Rick sat in one corner of the sofa and lowered his head, not saying a word.

“Rick, what is it?”

When Xixi came downstairs, Rick had already been sitting there unmoved for three minutes.

“It’s Qin Chu and Huo Mian… something has happened to them.” Rick raised his head, the sadness in his eyes was difficult to conceal.
