Child of Destiny

Chapter 1962: Trapped

...

Everyone stared blankly at the spot where the trio of Shin, Arthur, and Leonard disappeared, along with the mysterious person who appeared in the middle of their ranks earlier.

The seniors and elders were still quite fine. They had full confidence that the trio would not be in much danger, given all the situations.

Since those guys from the Hextech Laboratory were targeting these young geniuses, they would definitely not harm them too much. They would most likely try to subdue the younglings and bring as many of them back to their headquarters.

Their side could take advantage of this situation and use it against them.

Aside from this, Joaquin and Grandmaster Benn knew that those three who had been taken back by that expert possessed their respective means to deal with such situations.

Arthur was someone from the Springfield Family, so he should have a treasure that he could use to save his life in danger.

Leonard was from the Asad Tribe and a personal disciple of Joaquin, so this kid should have a special means of his own. Moreover, Joaquin had also put a special mark on this discipline of his that could help him look for them later.

Based on this mark, he could tell that the trio was not brought too far from this place. They should still be within the vicinity of the region.

That spatial device that had been used earlier might be advanced, but its effects were still quite limited. The range that it could travel was still inferior when compared to the teleportation abilities of the Void Tribe and spatial talismans crafted by top-notch experts.

This was also the reason why Grandmaster Benn was not too worried about the three. He had given his student quite a lot of talismans before, which included the teleportation talismans that could directly bring Shin back to the coordinates that he had set up.

Shin, or rather Uno, had already used it before during one of the operations in the Soaring Continent, where a similar situation had happened.

Aside from his talismans, Evangeline had most likely given Shin quite a few as well, which should be on the same level or even much better than the ones that Grandmaster Benn had crafted.

Grandmaster Benn had already seen the sealing talismans that Shin had used earlier, and they seemed to be a tier higher than what he could make.

In the meantime, the youngsters from the group were not as experienced as their elders and seniors, so they panicked a little.

Seeing this scene, Grandmaster Benn finally decided to retreat. The packages had already been taken anyway, so there was no point in entangling themselves too much from these people.

He then sent a telepathic message to everyone, telling them to prepare to retreat.

Cloe and the others had yet to recover from seeing the trio being taken away, but Grandmaster Benn reassured them that the three would be fine.

Joaquin had also informed them that he could still sense the location of the three, so they could still case those people later.

Moreover, he also said that they had prepared a contingency plan for such situations. He did not disclose what exactly the arrangements were that they had prepared, since he was not sure about it, as well as since it was Nathan who had arranged it.

After receiving the command from their elders, the group quickly recollected itself and swiftly prepared for their retreat.

Joaquin and Grandmaster Benn immediately intensified their attacks, further pinning down their respective opponents and preventing them from doing anything crazy.

The ones who were fighting the members of the Voidwalker Tribes and the executioners from the Black Serpent Mafia also locked their respective opponents in place while letting the rest of the seniors cover for the juniors when retreating.

The opposing side wanted to stop them, but the lunatics from the Hextech Laboratory started going crazy once again.

They started attacking everyone around them while trying to capture he members of the Magic Ace Academy and a few Artificial Mutants at the same time.

After all, they had partially secured their objectives now, so there was no point ’working’ with the agents of the Black Serpent Mafia any longer.

The battlefield became chaotic once again.

In the meantime, somewhere remote within the nearby region, the trio was spat out of the spatial distortion along with the mysterious experts that caught them.

”Tsk! Tsk! Such a quick reaction,” said this expert while looking at Shin. ”To think that you will think of such a response during such a predicament, I guess you are quite experienced.”

He then turned to Leonard and Arthur, who also fell on the ground, before continuing. ”But I guess there are quite a few loyal ones among your friends. They bravely jumped into the spatial distortion despite knowing the dangers that came alongside it.”

Shin ignored the first few words from this person but turned to the other two after hearing the latter parts. ”These idiots.”

”Heh! Do you think that we will let you enjoy the fun by yourselves again?” said Leonard, who still had the gall to joke about their current situation.

”Tsk! Tsk! Don’t just play a hero by yourself when you have the main character on your side,” said Arthur, seemingly unfazed by their current predicament.

The Domain Realm Expert before them could not help but look at these youngsters with a strange gaze. They seemed to be relatively ’relaxed’ despite the current situation that they were in.

He must admit that he somewhat admired their courage for facing such a situation with this kind of mentality.

He then turned around and signaled those hiding in the dark. ”Wrap this up. I will be heading toward the other side. I still need to keep those people from the World Government busy to buy you enough time.”

Right after saying that, he pressed on the spatial device, activating it once again. The spatial distortion appeared one more time and swallowed him before disappearing.

As for the packages? He did not have them with him since Shin had already kept them inside his dimensional bag earlier, right before the transportation.

However, it was not much of an issue since they had the person in them anyway, so they could just capture him and take the packages later.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

At the same time, groups of people appeared from the nearby woods, surrounding the trio.

Looking at them, Shin saw a dozen people with Ethereal Opening Stage martial attainments and a pair of people who were at the Void Manifestation Stage.

At first glance, there seemed to be nothing special about this group, which made Leonard and Arthur furrow their brows in confusion. If it were just these guys, then they could at least handle them so long as they gave their all.

However, Shin had a whole different expression compared to them. His Seed of Hatred was having an intense reaction after seeing these people.

It was similar to when he encountered a Demonic Practitioner, or something related to demonic practices. But there was also something different about it, which somewhat confused him.

However, something quickly struck him when he recalled the information about the previous incidents that occurred in the Soaring Continent.

”Unforgiven Ones!” he said with a somewhat solemn tone.

These people were similar to Demonic Practitioners or those with the Seed of Hatred. But there was a clear distinction between them, and these two, the Unforgiven Ones, were Evil Practitioners!

Demonic Practitioners used extreme means during their training that made them so powerful. However, they still had a certain boundary that they never crossed because it would put them at a lot of risk, such as being consumed by their respective methods and becoming complete monsters.

Evil Practitioners, on the other hand, were completely evil. They used immoral means just to become powerful, just like how they created an artificial Seed of Hatred through human sacrifice.

Some used virgins as some sort of human pill, others used infants and their blood, a few slaughtered countless people during the sacrifice, and many more.

These people then let their Seeds of Hatred consume them before turning themselves into true Evil Partitioners; thus, they were called the Unforgiven Ones.

These people were quite powerful as well, especially when their abilities were gained through such extreme and immoral means.

Moreover, he also heard from David that the people from the Hextech Laboratory were also bringing the Project Genuis back to life, which they had created through immoral experiments like stealing them from other people.

Frowning quite deeply, Shin swept his gaze at the opposing party, specifically eyeing the two Void Manifestation Stage Unforgiven Ones.

The rest were quite powerful as well, which made them almost on the same level as the trio, but the main concern was still those two leaders from their group.

”Looks like we are in trouble, huh?” said Arthur with a somewhat sarcastic tone while sweeping his gaze at their opposition.

Shin rolled his eyes at him when he heard those words. ”Thanks for pointing it out, genius.”

Leonard, on the other hand, ignored the two joking about their current situation and stretched his neck left and right, producing a series of popping sounds.

Those from the opposing side squinted their eyes when they looked at the three, who were seemingly looking down at them.

One of the Void Manifestation Stage Unforgiven Ones narrowed his eyes further and signaled the rest to make their move. ”Go! Teach them a lesson before dragging their bodies back to the base.”
