Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1779: Chapter 567: Desperate Breakout, Cai Yunzhou Driven to Rage

Xia Hong and Yuwen Dao are engaged in a strategic exchange in the sky, unrelated to the battlefield below, while Hou Bing and Yuwen Yong are unaware that their rash advance has caused trouble for Yuwen Dao.

The two now only know that they gambled correctly!

Cai Qiu’s seventy thousand troops have been completely scattered, and the entire Guangning Mountain Camp is in chaos. Meanwhile, the thirty thousand Xia Army is split into six groups, methodically slaughtering the cornered enemy.

Compared to them, the ninety thousand rebels are much more frenzied. Individually, they can’t compare to Cai Qiu’s soldiers, but they win by sheer numbers, swarming in a chaotic rush. The already scattered Cai Qiu soldiers can’t effectively reorganize, leaving them with no chance to retaliate.

“City Lord, it’s hopeless, let’s go!”

Although Cai Qiu’s army is in disarray, those at the Xianyang Level find themselves in a remarkably safe position. They hover in mid-air, completely unaffected by the Xia Army, while the limited number of Great Xia’s Xianyang Level forces dare not approach too closely, instead hovering in lower-altitude areas, watching closely to prevent them from engaging in the battlefield.

The only thing that can threaten them now is the Divine Machine Crossbow of the Xia Army at the rear. However, Great Xia’s supply of crossbow arrows is clearly limited, using the first round to force retreat, and afterward refraining from major actions, only deploying at key moments.

But such safety is only temporary.

Once the Xia Army clears out the camp, these Xianyang Level forces will have no distractions, allowing them to focus on countering the Xia soldiers, and with strong support from the Divine Machine Crossbow, escape won’t be so easy for them.

The Guangning Mountain has already changed hands, remaining here would be futile. Cai Qiu’s generals have seen the signs and have already requested Cai Yunzhou to retreat.

“Ninety thousand troops are trapped, and you’re thinking of escape, a shame on you as Cai Qiu’s Commander General. The Landgrave entrusted you with command, blinding his eyes. I, the City Lord, would rather die here today than escape disgracefully with you, Cai Qiu brothers do not panic, quickly regroup and break northward, I will carve a bloody path for you!”

Yet, faced with requests from the Xianyang Level generals, the formerly muddled Cai Yunzhou instantly regains his senses, then erupts in fury, responding with unwavering words.

He brought seventy thousand troops from Qinghua City alone, but later gathered over twenty thousand defeated soldiers from Bone-Eroding Path, so the total number of stationed troops at Guangning Mountain is over ninety thousand.

Losing Guangning Mountain is bad enough, and if these ninety thousand troops were all lost here, what face would he have to return and face his uncle, face the Landgrave?

“The City Lord hasn’t abandoned us, brothers break northward!”

“We still have a chance, break through, break through…”

“Follow the City Lord to break out, brothers!”

……

Cai Yunzhou’s words undoubtedly act as a shot in the arm for the retreating Cai Qiu soldiers below, their faces full of emotion, they roar and quickly raise their weapons again, turning swiftly towards the north to charge.

Especially upon seeing Cai Yunzhou disregarding the obstruction of Great Xia’s two Xianyang Level generals, crazily rushing towards the northern side of the camp, resolutely creating a breakthrough to aid the escape, their inner battle spirit becomes even more intense.

And those Xianyang Level warriors considering retreat are shamed red-faced by Cai Yunzhou’s words, their pupils flaming with battle spirit, they draw their weapons fiercely and rush to the ground, following Cai Yunzhou to charge north.

Clang…

At the northern breach, Yuwen Yong is forced back by Cai Yunzhou’s sword, watching as more Cai Qiu soldiers are constantly reinforced from behind, a trace of urgency emerges within his pupils.

“Hou Bing, quickly send men to the north to stop them, the commotion is so large, the main tent at River Valley Village must have already received the news, the main force will arrive soon, we just need to block them!”

“Understood, brothers, ignore the east side, charge to the north, stop the fleeing Cai Qiu soldiers, let none escape…”

Hou Bing, already teamed with Yuwen Yong to deal with Cai Yunzhou, responds almost instinctively to the call.

Conquering the easily defensible Guangning Mountain area holds certain strategic significance for Great Xia, but compared to this, exterminating Cai Qiu’s vital forces is undoubtedly more important.

Despite two battles in Bone-Eroding Path, Cai Qiu’s twenty thousand troops weren’t completely wiped out; the Xia Army killed, including prisoners, is just over ninety thousand. Additionally, over ten thousand more were scattered, and he subsequently led troops to eradicate some in the surrounding areas, tallying to barely over ten thousand.

Guangning Mountain housed over twenty thousand scattered soldiers, leaving at least sixty thousand scattered Cai Qiu soldiers hidden in the southern area of Guangning Mountain. These soldiers are blocked by the Xia Army’s defense lines, unable to join those in the camp, but the Xia Army will certainly have to invest considerable effort to clear these out slowly.

Given Ice Abyss’s complex environment, they may not necessarily clear all, and once these soldiers return to Qinghua City, they’ll remain enemies on the battlefield, possibly becoming formidable foes having already faced the Xia Army once.

Overall, from the first two victories, Great Xia has eradicated ten thousand plus of Cai Qiu’s soldiers, although the current battle is largely a victory for Great Xia, a closer look reveals the overall losses for Cai Qiu are not extensive, at most two percent, less than two thousand.

It’s clear that although the rebels, numbering nine thousand, are spirited, their limited strength makes it difficult to kill, let alone wound the fully armed Cai Qiu soldiers. The main force killing enemies on the battlefield remains the Xia Army.
