Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1438 - 458: 9 Circuits Blood Corridor, Mysterious Ice Dao Monster, Feudal Town Military Might_4

After the black stream of air was blown away, it didn’t disperse, but rather lingered in place and formed a cyclone, from which a rough voice emerged.

”Xuan Bing, don’t waste your time here! Those two families’ trials are about to start; they’ve indeed fallen for the lady’s scheme this year, sending over two thousand people. These are the future of the two feudal towns. The lady has ordered you to go and properly attend to them.”

Xuan Bing, the hunchbacked person, upon hearing this, had his snow-white pupils suddenly tinged with blood-red as he let out several low, grim laughs, saying: ”Let the lady rest assured, the old Daoist will definitely attend to them properly, heh heh heh...”

The black air stream vanished immediately upon receiving Xuan Bing’s reply.

Xuan Bing glanced south once more, shook his head, turned, and flew towards Danxue Peak in the north.

Six or seven kilometers south of Beining Village.

Two panic-stricken figures were frantically fleeing southward.

”Big brother, are they all dead?”

”Definitely dead. I just went to look closely; everyone at the village entrance was frozen into ice sculptures, without a sound inside, and even the three strong warriors in mid-air were instantly frozen...”

Upon hearing his big brother Duan Mang’s answer, Duan Huang’s face suddenly turned pale.

Thinking of his parents and relatives in the village, his heart quivered violently, and he stopped, saying to his big brother: ”Big brother, no, we can’t just run away like this. We need to go back to the village and check. There might still be some people alive.”

”You’re crazy; I saw it with my own eyes, how could I be lying to you? The ones who can fly in the sky, they are Xianyang-level strong warriors, even those three are dead. With our power level of eight or nine Zong, going back is just asking for death, what else could we achieve?”

Duan Mang, without another word, dragged his brother along to continue fleeing, his expression filled with panic, continuing: ”Go find the Nine Towns Alliance Army in Beishuo Dongchuan district. They said last time that we can go to them for help if there’s anything. There will definitely be strong warriors who can help, and if there are really people still alive in the village, we won’t be too late by taking a day or two.”

Upon hearing his brother’s words, Duan Huang gritted his teeth and finally gave up the thought of returning, following him southward towards the Dongchuan district.

.........

”In Brother Hong’s view, is my Cai Qiu Army’s might glorious?”

November 1st, Year 297 of the Caiqiu Calendar, nighttime

Zhenyuan Camp, at the doorway of the main hall on the top floor of the main building, Xia Hong overlooked the tens of thousands of Cai Qiu troops below, hearing Cai Yunlan’s question beside him. This time, he didn’t display the same disdainful attitude as he did at the county mansion door, but instead took a slight breath and said in a deep voice: ”Cai Qiu Army’s might shakes the heavens and moves the earth!”

Upon hearing these eight words, Cai Yunlan, along with the dozen or so Xianyang-level warriors from Lin Chu County beside him, all suddenly revealed thick smiles.

Of course, beneath the smiles was a strong sense of pride.

Around the main building, hundreds of towering barracks stood scattered on the mist-covered snow plain, occupying at least over twenty square kilometers.

The buildings were nothing special; what mattered were the people—the soldiers to be precise.

”Kill!”

”Kill!”

......

It was midnight, and all the armored soldiers were training outside the tents.

At a glance, there were at least over two hundred thousand.

The batch of soldiers closest to the main building numbered over fifty thousand, all wearing silver-made Hundred Forged Scale Armor, with strength levels no lower than 20 Zong. Clearly, they were the most elite Silver Scale Army under Landgrave Cai Qiu.

The rest of the soldiers in the outer circle also wore silver-colored war armor, but the iron armor was just coated with a layer of silver paste on the surface, which Xia Hong had already noticed upon arrival, knowing these were made of Ten Thousand Forged Iron mixed with silver. This section of soldiers all had strength levels above 10 Zong.

50,000 soldiers with strength above 20 Zong, wearing Hundred Forged Silver Armor; 150,000 soldiers with strength above 10 Zong, wearing Ten Thousand Forged Mixed Silver Iron Armor...

At this moment, Xia Hong was doing his best to suppress the tremor in his heart.

Cai Qiu Army’s might shakes the heavens and moves the earth; these eight words were given as an evaluation not only because he thought he should give Cai Yunlan some face but also essentially due to his true impression formed after witnessing Cai Qiu’s army.

”The key is that this can’t be Cai Qiu’s entire military force; Cai Qiu has four counties and seven cities, and it’s sandwiched between three Great Feudal Towns. Its border defense needs are significant, and casually dispatching 200,000 elite troops is impossible. The true military strength of Cai Qiu must be much more than 300,000.”

Upon seeing Zhenyuan Camp for the first time, Xia Hong swiftly overturned the answers he received from the soldiers at the Bone-Eroding Path’s exit in his mind.

The Silver Scale and Town Guard armies were presently visible with 200,000 troops right before his eyes, not even counting those lower-level County Guard Army. Just by guessing, Cai Qiu’s total military force is at least over a million.

This is just the normal military force; if the entire Cold Resistance Level is counted, the number probably exceeds two or three million...

”This is the true power of a feudal town indeed! With 20 million, I seem to have underestimated Cai Qiu’s overall population. Right, besides the core high-level, such as the four Prefectural Governors, who else could possibly know the detailed figures for these feudal towns!”

Xia Hong lowered his head, looking at the army below, he sighed lightly, and a strong sense of urgency arose in his heart immediately.

This gap is truly significant.

Don’t even mention the Nine Towns alliance; even if Great Xia directly annexed the Eight Towns now, it would still be far from Cai Qiu.

In the entire Moao River, there are four others like Cai Qiu.

Chen Cang, Hezang, Wei Bo, and one farthest—Lulong...

”The development of Great Xia is still too slow; upon returning, I must find a way to accelerate it, otherwise when the two vassal towns open up the Blood Miasma Plain, Great Xia will only face annexation.”

At this moment, Xia Hong finally truly understood why high-levels from the Two Great Feudal Towns, although knowing about the Nine Towns Territory, never showed any concern nor came personally to inspect.

All along, they never even considered the current Nine Towns in their eyes!
