Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1161: Chapter 396: Rescue in Action, First Encounter with Qingqing, A Series of Twists

Xiahou Yong was naturally optimistic, even knowing that death was inevitable today, he didn’t want his sister to feel guilty. Gritting his teeth in pain, he comforted her, ”It’s okay, Qingqing, it’s just losing my left eye. Listen to me, follow the Captain and leave. When you get stronger in the future, kill a few nests of Golden Tigers and avenge us!”

Hearing her brother say this, Xiahou Qingqing felt even more miserable.

In fact, she wasn’t a member of Jiang Shouping’s Hunting Team. She had recently made some progress in cultivation and heard that the Hunting Team at Baisong Camp was being bullied by people from Great Xia, so she volunteered to come.

Jiang Shouping’s Hunting Team was just an Intermediate Squad, hunting in familiar territory. As long as they controlled the distance and carefully chose targets to hunt, there shouldn’t be any danger.

The unexpected situation today was caused by her.

Just now, she repeatedly suggested that since Great Xia’s Hunting Team came to the Jiangxia area, they should also go to Great Xia to retaliate.

Jiang Shouping initially refused, but could not resist Xiahou Qingqing’s plea, thinking about Jiangxia’s recent decline. Eventually, he agreed.

Unexpectedly, they had only traveled less than two kilometers east when they accidentally ran into this group of Golden Tigers, resulting in the current situation.

”Qingqing, quickly follow the Captain and go. Don’t waste time here. You are much more valuable than the rest of us!”

Seeing his sister still crying, Xiahou Yong endured the throbbing pain in his left eye and yelled furiously. He then looked up and shouted at Jiang Shouping, ”Captain, you take Qingqing and go, I’ll hold off the tiger group with the others...”

He didn’t wait for Jiang Shouping’s response and directly turned to shout at the other members, ”Brothers, life and death are fated. Since we’ve come out to hunt, there will always be such a day. Since we are to die, let’s die like men, and leave some hope for Jiangxia. Let the Captain take Qingqing back!”

The fifteen team members all jolted slightly upon hearing these words.

Jiang Yiqing, who had just been saved by Xiahou Yong’s sacrifice, nodded and loudly echoed, ”The deputy captain is right. The captain is at Cold Resistance Level, and Qingqing’s potential is better than all of ours. We must risk our lives to ensure their escape.”

”Alright!”

”There’s no point, the most we can do is protect one.”

”We listen to the Deputy Captain.”

......

”Brothers, charge with me and clear a path for the Captain and Qingqing!”

Hearing the members’ successive angry roars, the Captain Jiang Shouping’s eyes immediately reddened. He just clenched his fists, ready to scold everyone, but Xiahou Yong spoke first, brandishing his Big Saber and led the charge.

The fifteen team members, regardless of being injured or not, charged like madmen behind Xiahou Yong towards the Golden Tiger group.

”Brother, don’t!”

Seeing her brother’s action, Xiahou Qingqing exclaimed in shock and instinctively rushed forward, but as she stepped out, Jiang Shouping beside her stopped her.

”Qingqing, calm down, don’t let everyone’s sacrifices be in vain!”

Jiang Shouping was a fourth-generation member of the Jiang Family, aged over forty, with more than ten years of hunting experience and leading teams for seven or eight years. This wasn’t his first time facing such a situation. Despite the heart-wrenching actions of Xiahou Yong and the team members, he made the right decision.

He himself could let it be, but Xiahou Qingqing’s potential was vital for Jiangxia Town, and she truly couldn’t be allowed to die here.

”Follow me!”

The desperate efforts of Xiahou Yong and the sixteen members were indeed strong, and they managed to open a small gap in the Golden Tiger group.

Seeing this, Jiang Shouping immediately took Xiahou Qingqing, trying to escape through the opening.

”Roar...”

Although their movements were fast, just as they were about to rush out of the gap, the Golden Tiger group repeated their tactic and roared in unison.

Jiang Shouping and Xiahou Qingqing were instantly dizzy, their steps slowed by several times. Immediately, a muscular Golden Tiger suddenly pounced from the back of the tiger group, its sharp golden claws aimed straight at Xiahou Qingqing’s head.

Rip...

The Golden Tiger was not just skilled in roaring; its fan-like golden sharp claws were also deadly weapons.

The claws swept through the air, tearing out three golden beams in the night. The terrifying power could be judged by the piercing screech it made tearing through the air.

”Qingqing, be careful!”

Just as the claws were about to reach her head, as a look of terror appeared on Xiahou Qingqing’s face, her brother Xiahou Yong exhausted himself to stand in front of her.

”Brother!”

The scene in front of Xiahou Qingqing was actually not unfamiliar.

When her father Xiahou Lin died, she was just over five years old. At the time, her brother Xiahou Yong was already thirteen and, from childhood to adulthood, no matter what, her brother Xiahou Yong always put himself in front of her first.

But how could previous situations compare to what was happening now?

She dared not face the Golden Tiger’s claw head-on. With Xiahou Yong’s strength of over seventy thousand catties, being hit meant certain death.

Fear filled Xiahou Qingqing’s eyes as she frantically stretched to try to pull Xiahou Yong back, but everything happened so fast, she simply couldn’t make it in time.

”Don’t...”

Whoosh!

Just at the critical moment, a Silver Iron Arrow suddenly shot from the eastern Snow Forest straight into the left eye of the Golden Tiger that was swinging its claw.

”Roar...”

With a squelching sound, the power of the Silver Iron Arrow was extremely strong, more than half of its over seventy centimeter length embedded into the target. The Golden Tiger’s left eye immediately burst with blood, letting out a painful roar and even retracting its paw.
