Endless Winter: My Camp Upgrades Infinitely

Chapter 1151: Chapter 393: Bountiful Harvest from the Jiao Long Nest, the Rise of a New Generation

The chill of the Ice Abyss Waters is far more aggressive than on land.

Xia Hong had already experienced this when he developed the Wuyuan Waters.

On land, humans can at least use fire and clothing to fend off the cold to some extent. If you reach Cold Resistance Level, you rely on the restructured Skin Membrane to resist the external cold air and cold light, so there’s basically no fear of the cold during the day.

But not so in the waters!

As soon as you enter the waters, fire and clothing are rendered ineffective.

Moreover, the Ice Abyss Waters are covered by transparent hard ice all year round, which in normal circumstances should insulate against the external chill. But let’s not forget, most of the chill in the Ice Abyss originates from that sun in the sky. What it projects down is cold light; in other words, the source of light is the main source of chill.

The transparent ice surface not only fails to block the cold light cast by the sun, but due to its transparency, it forms a focusing effect similar to a lens, making the water below absorb that cold light even more intensely.

Moreover, the thicker the ice, the stronger the focusing effect, thus the more cold light the water flow below absorbs. As a result, the temperature of the waters beneath the ice surface becomes unimaginably low.

Last year when Xia Hong drove away the Red Carp Monster and took over the Wuyuan Waters, he immediately dove in to explore. So now as he descends into the White Tiger Pond and feels the piercing cold of the waters, there is no trace of surprise on his face.

”Even I feel it’s bone-chilling; those at Cold Resistance Level wouldn’t last more than a few minutes. Any longer, and they would surely freeze to death.”

From this, it seems the strength of Water Cold Beasts typically surpasses that of Land Cold Beasts. It’s probably the environment that forces this upon them; without some abilities, they wouldn’t survive at all.

With that Black Flood Dragon lurking here, it wouldn’t be possible for any other formidable presence to exist underwater. The White Tiger Pond is very deep, and Xia Hong dove down about five hundred meters before reaching the bottom, where he began to meticulously search.

Soon, he found a gigantic underwater cave entrance.

The entrance was attached to the left side of the pond bottom, about fifty meters in diameter, and only half submerged. Inside, there was clearly a massive cave.

Seeing the sharp claw marks around the cave entrance, Xia Hong’s eyes immediately lit up.

That Black Flood Dragon had indeed made its nest underwater!

Xia Hong took a deep breath and quickly swam towards the entrance, soon surfacing at the mouth of the cave. With his bone structure fully expressed, he used high temperatures to evaporate the water from his body, then walked directly into the cave on the water’s surface.

After entering the cave, a space over three hundred meters high and five to six hundred meters wide appeared before his eyes.

Xia Hong surveyed the cave, and when his gaze swept to the deep left side of the cave, his pupils contracted sharply, his expression turning exceedingly excited.

In the deep left side of the cave, there were unexpectedly twenty-four luminous precious Spirit Plants; their roots and stems were extraordinarily robust, each towering tens of meters, some even over a hundred meters tall. Around them were various special Ore, the larger ones five to six meters in diameter, the smaller ones just fist-sized.

But there was more! Behind those Spirit Plants, a Black Flood Dragon lay coiled on the ground.

Who else could it be but the same one he just battled?

The Black Flood Dragon had returned!

Xia Hong immediately tensed, raising the Cold Blood Blade in his hand.

But seeing the Flood Dragon motionless, he stared intently.

Upon this inspection, his expression gradually relaxed.

But this relaxation lasted only a few seconds before his expression turned even more exhilarated.

It was a complete Jiao Shed, from the bulge on its forehead to the four sharp claws, and to the black Scale Armor covering its entire body, identical to the Black Flood Dragon he just fought.

”The nature of dragons is to love treasure, and the rumors are indeed true. The Black Flood Dragon actually left so many treasures in its lair. Truly a windfall!”

Xia Hong rarely loses his composure, but this time he did. Mostly because leading Great Xia from the mud slope to now, he had never had such an immense gain.

For argument’s sake, the silver mine on the mountain’s North Slope could count, but at his strength then, he was only one step away from silver. That silver mine might have been the cherry on top, but how could it compare to these treasures?

Putting aside the myriad of colored Ore, just the twenty-four Spirit Plants, among which was a Heavenly Yang Branch identical to the one on the White Tiger Pond’s surface, with nine Heavenly Yang Fruits still hanging on it, was significant.

Although Xia Hong did not recognize the remaining twenty-three plants, being hidden in the cave by the Black Flood Dragon along with the Heavenly Yang Branch, they surely were precious.

Xia Hong’s expression flickered, suddenly thinking of something. He quickly examined the Ore on the ground, checking each gold-glimmering stone piece by piece, but his eyes revealed a trace of disappointment.

”What a pity!”

The system could detect resource-type Ore; evidently, these gold-glimmering stones contained no Gold.

Xia Hong shook his head slightly, cursing himself for being too greedy, and continued walking forward to examine the Jiao Shed.

The Black Scale Armor on the Jiao Shed, while not as hard as the 58 pieces he just collected, offered defense of at least two-jin level, making it perfect for constructing War Armor at Cold Resistance Level.

The key was that this Dragon Shedding was large enough, at least over six hundred meters long, capable of yielding at least four thousand Scale Armors, each about forty centimeters in diameter. With iron as an auxiliary material, at least a thousand sets of War Armor could be made.

Moreover, not just the Scale Armor, beneath the Scale Armor was a layer of soft shedding thin as cicada wings, making it excellent material for both armor and clothing.
