Forcing Me to Be a Godly Tycoon, Right?

Chapter 812: Chapter 339: Beginning to Target Huo Chengcheng

Although Huo Chengcheng still felt a bit unfair for Bai Shan, she had to admit that Zhang Jingdong’s offers were indeed hard to refuse.

Not to mention anything else, just the 2 million alone was an irresistible temptation, especially for Bai Shan, who urgently needed money.

Moreover, she suddenly realized that if she kept arguing with Zhang Jingdong, it would definitely make things very difficult for Bai Shan. After all, she was her good sister, and Zhang Jingdong controlled her future, so she absolutely couldn’t offend him.

Thus, Huo Chengcheng gradually regained her rationality and calmness.

She looked at Zhang Jingdong nonchalantly: ”Alright, you’re impressive.”

”But I warn you, if Shanshan goes with you to Jiangdu, you’re not allowed to bully her, otherwise, I definitely won’t let you go!”

Zhang Jingdong suggested: ”If you’re worried, you two can come along as well. As long as you’re willing, I’ll take care of all three of your futures!”

Huo Chengcheng couldn’t help but give him a sidelong glance.

”You have quite the appetite, huh? With Xiao Fei and Shanshan, you still want a piece of me too!”

Zhang Jingdong pouted: ”You’re overthinking it! I might have a good appetite, but I’m not desperate, alright?”

”With your temper, even if I was starving, I wouldn’t consider it!”

”What did you say!?” Huo Chengcheng was instantly agitated: ”Say that again if you dare!”

Zhang Jingdong chuckled: ”Good words don’t deserve a second time, but I’m truly thinking about your futures, because from Shanshan, I already know that your current career prospects are average.”

”You’re not gaining fame or fortune, wasting time, and most crucially, there’s no hope.”

Huo Chengcheng said indignantly: ”What makes you say that? Don’t think just because you have some money, you can make casual comments about our industry.”

”Although Opera is in a bit of a slump now, it doesn’t mean it will always be, after all, it’s the national heritage, right? As long as someone keeps inheriting it, it will definitely be revived in the future!”

Zhang Jingdong sighed and said: ”I’m not saying Opera is no good, I just think that the current ways of spreading and presenting Opera are limited, and the content is becoming more and more outdated, lacking innovation.”

”And any art form, once it loses innovation, loses public participation, it will inevitably lose its vitality and then its competitiveness with other art forms.”

”Back then, Kung Fu was also declining domestically, but because of Bruce Lee’s four and a half Kung Fu movies, it directly triggered a Kung Fu craze in the country for many years.”

”Not to mention ordinary people, even major stars like Zhou Xingchi and Zhou Jielun were influenced by it, loving Kung Fu since they were young, and they also made huge contributions to the spread of Kung Fu.”

”For example, Zhou Xingchi’s ’Shaolin Soccer’, or Zhou Jielun’s song ’nunchaku’, which made countless boys learn nunchaku from a young age.”

”What I mean is, Opera shouldn’t just be sung in theaters, with the development of the times, we can sing it through ways and means that are more widely appreciated and loved.”

”For example, this time I want to create a combination of pop songs and Opera, as long as a hit song can be launched through it, it can be a huge promotion for Opera, and maybe more people will like it and learn it.”

”Combining pop songs with Opera?” Huo Chengcheng was instantly amused: ”Aren’t you defiling Opera? How can these two be put on the same level?”

”Those pop songs are street junk, while Opera is the national treasure!”

Zhang Jingdong smiled and shook his head: ”So what if it’s a national treasure? Didn’t all art forms become popular because they were forms of entertainment appreciated and loved by the masses?”

”When Opera was at its peak, it was also because anyone on the street could sing a few lines of ’Su San’s Redemption’ and ’Farewell My Concubine’, so it was equivalent to pop songs then!”

”And why did Opera decline later? It’s because some people started saying Opera is a high art that shouldn’t be desecrated, and then it gradually distanced itself from the masses and finally declined, put on a high shelf!”

”Let me give you another successful case of an ancient art form being revived, which is similar to Opera - crosstalk.”

”Crosstalk had also faded for many years, obviously there were lots of skits on the Spring Festival Gala every year, but only one or two crosstalk acts, and they weren’t influential.”

”But this year, with the explosive popularity of Guo Degang, crosstalk has had a second spring.”

”The reason Guo Degang became explosively popular, besides the spread of the internet, the most important thing is that the content of his crosstalk keeps pace with the times, incorporating many jokes loved by young people, and he also uses presentation formats favored by modern audiences.”

As Zhang Jingdong spoke up to here, seeing that Huo Chengcheng seemed to be listening, he continued: ”Additionally, Guo Degang himself is a very seasoned Opera enthusiast; he has woven much Opera into his crosstalk, thus allowing Opera to spread widely.”

”For example, he often sings ’Call Little Fan’ from ’Si Lang Visits his Mother’. Many people didn’t know this Opera piece before, including me.”

”But through his crosstalk, now a lot of people know it and can even sing that part!”

”And the musical theater I’m setting up for you now is the same model, using pop songs as the hook to promote Opera.”

”It’s not an exaggeration, if you really make musical theater hit it big in the future, the contribution you’ve made to Opera will definitely be much greater than playing various supporting roles in the theater group now!”
