My Talent Panel Can Add Points

Chapter 184: Chapter 130: First Major Battle with Tang Ruobing! (Part 2)

”How can that be the same!”

”Ah!”

Tang Ruobing sighed helplessly, ultimately giving up on continuing the discussion. She was very certain of one thing: Ye Mingqiu’s combat talent was extremely strong; the fact that he was still alive was the best evidence.

If this guy’s talent were slightly weaker, there’s no way he could have survived until now.

”Hey hey hey, why are you sighing? You’re making it seem like I’m being unreasonable. I just feel like I can fight, so I’ve made that choice. If I encounter a stronger enemy... I should choose to retreat, then become stronger and challenge again.”

”Should?” Tang Ruobing asked, turning her gaze.

”Uh...”

”Haven’t you considered the possibility that the opponent might possess some strong control ability or an extremely special curse? What if you fall into a trap, unable to act, or get controlled by some first-strike skill? What will you do? What if, after the opponent’s death, some ability is applied to reduce your attributes as a negative effect?”

Tang Ruobing suddenly became serious, bombarding him with questions one after another, while walking closer to Ye Mingqiu, her eyes sharp like a hawk staring at its prey.

She felt that Ye Mingqiu was somewhat underestimating the danger and variability of the Spirit Realm. It’s necessary to make him clearly aware of the limitations of his own strength.

”Uh, my resistance is pretty high, my health bar is substantial, and I recover quickly. Generally, control and curses don’t have much effect on me. First-strike skills, as long as they don’t instantly kill, I can generally fight against.” Ye Mingqiu replied calmly.

”High resistance? Don’t you know there are attributes called resistance penetration? Do you not know there’s an attribute called resistance ignore? How high of a resistance you dare to boast now; if you encounter an enemy with strong resistance penetration, you won’t even know how you died.” Tang Ruobing turned around, waved her hand, and said, ”Come over, let me show you how strong resistance penetration really is, how worthless your so-called resistance is in front of penetration.”

”Hmm.”

Ye Mingqiu nodded.

....

In the exclusive training room

Tang Ruobing stood opposite Ye Mingqiu, navigating the Spirit Realm interface, swapping her equipment for accessories that enhance abnormal status resistance penetration.

The value of this kind of accessory is quite high, and curse-related professions have a strong demand for it. Without resistance penetration, it greatly impacts strength. Although Tang Ruobing is not from the Curse System, she also prepares some of this equipment for emergencies.

”I’m ready now, you can use the skill that enhances abnormal status resistance,” Tang Ruobing said.

”I mainly rely on permanent resistance; I don’t have any skill for temporary resistance enhancement,” Ye Mingqiu said.

He only has the skill that enhances resistance, which is [Tyrant Form], and [Tyrant Form] requires stacking 100 points of battle intent to successfully activate, so it’s not suitable for daily testing.

”Alright, I’ll start casting.”

Tang Ruobing slowly lifted a new black magic staff, her gaze slightly cold.

Though her surface demeanor showed no change, internally she reacted heavily. Permanent resistance and skill-based temporary resistance are fundamentally different concepts. Skill-based resistance may provide more combat strategies, but permanent resistance... truly does not fear first-strike kills.

”Hoo~”

Tang Ruobing activated the technique, an icy chill instantly diffused, causing a significant drop in the space’s temperature. Next, she would release Ice Seal, a skill that could directly freeze the enemy into an ice sculpture, rendering it completely immobile, with effects on abnormal status + control.

If one only has abnormal status resistance without sufficiently high control resistance, they cannot break free from Ice Seal’s control. Conversely, only by having sufficiently high abnormal status resistance and control resistance simultaneously can one successfully resist Ice Seal’s effect.

”....”

Ye Mingqiu stood ready.

To be honest, he felt a bit nervous because Tang Ruobing was a Level 8 Mage, and she intentionally wore equipment with abnormal status resistance penetration, genuinely likely to penetrate his resistance.

After all, the abnormal status resistance he stacked wasn’t much, only the passive abilities from [Unparalleled Divine Bravery], [Undying Tyrant], [Spiritual Power-Sacred Body], [Sequence-Saintly Radiance], and [Crown of the Beast King]. It’s just a passive ability from one Legendary Profession, plus two S-Level talents, one S+ Talent passive, one equipment passive.

[Alert: Broken Star used ’Ice Seal’ on you, strength/constitution assessment failed, resulting in a 10-second Ice Seal effect]

[Alert: Your abnormal status resistance assessment succeeded, your control resistance assessment succeeded, you are immune to the control this time]

A gust of cold wind blew, leaving only a few ice flakes on Ye Mingqiu’s body, with no further effect.

”Hmm?”

He tilted his head in confusion, looking at Tang Ruobing opposite him, and asked, ”Resistance penetration... that’s it?”

Tang Ruobing was also stunned. Changing to specific equipment and using Ice Seal was supposed to have a great effect, even freezing a Level 10 Dominator for two seconds; yet it couldn’t control Ye Mingqiu even for an instant? This isn’t right, is it?

The Eye of Omaragon instead absorbs curses, right? I’m not using a curse, am I?

”Wait, how high did you stack your abnormal status resistance? My accessory can have up to 8 points of penetration, and the weapon has an additional 5 points of penetration; how come there’s no effect at all?” Tang Ruobing asked in disbelief.

The Eye of Omaragon opened its eye, revealing a sneering expression.

In the curse aspect, Ancient Gods are the top existence; their skills not only have resistance penetration but also resistance corrosion, resistance ignorance, resistance reduction among a series of effects, and these effects can even stack.
