I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Butcher

[Genius: You are considered a genius and receive better feedback during training.]

[All-Powerful: You are seen as an all-powerful player, with increased understanding of different positions.]

[Butcher: You are regarded as a butcher, opponents feel pressured, and the pressure increases with your fame.]

Chen Zhong, with three auras, is regarded as a once-in-a-century genius player from the Real Madrid Youth. When he’s on the field, his dominance is unprecedented.

He is also called a ”Monster!”

A fearsome monster on the field!

After the coin toss between the two teams, the Barcelona Youth Team players, who gained kickoff rights, couldn’t help but eye Chen Zhong, wanting to see in which position this terrifying monster, this fearsome butcher would play in this match. When they saw Chen Zhong, wearing the captain’s armband, heading towards the backfield to play as center-back,

the Barcelona Youth players couldn’t help but sigh in relief, and at the same time, look at Bojan with an imperceptible hint of sympathy.

”I’m not afraid of him!” Bojan said, with his neck held high, ”He’s no different from those guys.”

Bojan has always been regarded as the core in various youth teams, leading them to countless victories. Although his tone wasn’t very convincing, his track record gave his teammates some confidence.

With the sound of a whistle, the match officially began. For Bojan from Barcelona Youth, there was only one thing to do: move to position, wait for a teammate’s pass, and then begin his magical performance.

This is the treatment of a genius, and Bojan has always been proud of it.

Receive, turn, spin, roll.

Bojan fell painfully to the ground. At that moment, he felt like he was ascending, airborne, only to feel grounded when his side made contact with the grass.

”Get up! Don’t act like a sissy!”

The deep, magnetic voice made Bojan’s heart shudder. He turned his head, the tall man didn’t even bother to lower his gaze to give him a look.

”Are you trying to kill me?”

When Bojan uttered these words, biting his lip, they were mingled with fear, grievance, and anger. At that moment, his mind recalled the words Chen Zhong had said to him before the match, making his heart tremble.

He, he was serious!

He really wants to break my leg.

If Chen Zhong knew Bojan’s thoughts, he would definitely scoff and ridicule him. This was a clean and beautiful tackle, expertly deflecting the ball. As for the person, it was merely incidental.

Moreover, see, the referee didn’t say anything, the Real Madrid Youth’s counterattack has already begun!

If it weren’t for the head coach saying that I was the only one who could stop you, I wouldn’t be playing this damned center-back position!

”If you dare show off your ridiculous skills in front of me again, I will kill you.”

Chen Zhong said these words without a trace of enmity. Trash talk on the field is also a kind of skill, all the trash talk is only for this match and will not really affect reality, just like taunting the opponent in a game.

Bojan looked at the indifferent Chen Zhong, his whole body trembling, and at this moment, as his teammates started calling his name, a thought emerged in his mind that he had never had before, never even considered.

Don’t, don’t pass to me!

Really, really will break!

On the stands, the fans’ voices rose one after another, the offensive and defensive transitions between the two teams were rapid.

Especially when Chen Zhong pushed Bojan awkwardly from the backfield, winning the ball, then rushed down the field and took a long shot outside the penalty area that hit the crossbar, it sparked a small climax.

No one wondered how a center-back dared to run so far, only thinking, this guy is fucking insane, wild, awesome!

And this small climax woke Bernd Schuster, who was watching the match from the stands.

Schuster, known as the ”Football Vagabond” during his playing career, with his stubborn personality, eccentric nature, and fiery temper, missed many opportunities in his career.

He has a head of golden hair, messy and from a distance, looks like a lion full of aggressiveness. This man, who miraculously captained both Barcelona and Real Madrid in his playing career, could no longer suppress his excitement and turned to the person beside him, asking, ”What’s that damned kid’s name?”

”Chen Zhong, from China, he’s...”

”No, it doesn’t matter, he, he, I damn well like him, I like him, I like him!”

The man accompanying Schuster is named Francisco, a staff member at Real Madrid, temporarily serving as Schuster’s assistant. He’s an ordinary-looking middle-aged man with a proud set of abs.

At this moment, he slightly raised his head. Before arriving, he had introduced the youth talent Chen Zhong to the future head coach of Real Madrid, but Schuster wasn’t impressed.

But now?

However, Schuster said Chen Zhong is like him, and Francisco felt a bit awkward inside. But soon, he had to admit that in some ways, the two are indeed a bit alike.

After all, Schuster is a super midfielder who integrates the characteristics of a ”super defensive midfielder” with the qualities of a ”great attacking midfielder” and the aptitudes of a ”genius center-back,” dominating the entire ”central axis.”

Even the self-important Cruyff praised Schuster: ”I miss him, he’s a real genius! He plays with his brain, he can pass from the defense, control the ball in midfield, and score in the front.”

”You’re not thinking of bringing him to the first team, are you?” Francisco knew he shouldn’t speak out, but to prevent the ”Pavin” tragedy from happening again, he spoke reluctantly: ”But he’s only 16.”

”So what if he’s 16?” Schuster kept his eyes fixed on Chen Zhong on the field, not even willing to spare Francisco a glance: ”If you don’t mention his age, who would think he’s a 16-year-old kid! He can handle it.”

”We are Real Madrid.” Francisco reminded again: ”You know.”

Real Madrid, as a top club in the world, although suppressed by Barcelona in recent years, even giving the illusion that Barcelona and Real Madrid are teams of the same level, but...

This is Real Madrid! Playing in such a top club is an immense pressure on anyone. Every detail of the player will be scrutinized under a magnifying glass. Francisco really worries that the 16-year-old Chen Zhong can withstand this pressure.

”I know.”

”But what of it?”

”I’ve had enough, Francisco, you know?” Schuster finally turned his head to look straight at Francisco, his voice low but incredibly firm: ”I really despise the rigid football Real Madrid plays now, with no imagination and little technique. Capello is a good man, but he’s not suited for Real Madrid.”

”That’s why I came to see if there’s anything new to discover, and indeed, I saw a good little guy.” Schuster’s eyes, like a volcano about to erupt, locked onto Francisco: ”He’s a genius, right? A true genius shouldn’t be coddled; they need to endure all trials and survive, to be truly considered geniuses.”

”And I guarantee!” Schuster turned his head again to look at Chen Zhong on the field and spoke: ”If I let him go to the first team, he should thank me! By the way, what’s our youngest appearance record? Lucky kid.”

Francisco glanced at Schuster, opened his mouth wanting to say something, but in the end, just sighed: ”Alright! Maybe you’re right.”

Francisco held his tongue, but still felt a tinge of worry. It’s truly a dream for a 16-year-old kid to get playing time from Real Madrid’s stars.

Never mind your proficiency in multiple positions, even if you’re adept at all positions, you’d still end up watching the water cooler from the bench, just like ”Pavin”

Thinking about Pavin, Francisco couldn’t help but sigh in his heart, with no more intent to dissuade.

Alright! You’re the Real Madrid coach, if you dare to use players, then go ahead!

He couldn’t help but admire this lion-like man, knowing well many Real Madrid fans out there wish for their youth players to represent the team.

Some even fervently shout, ”Why should our homegrown talents serve so-called superstars?”

Previously when Florentino was club president, youth development was also valued, and coaches wouldn’t oppose using youth players. But unfortunately, no one dared to give youth players too many opportunities at Real Madrid, after all, this is Real Madrid.

This madman might be the only one with the guts, right?

Hopefully, he can coach the team for a while!

Barcelona Youth Team’s attack lacked breakthrough because their prodigy and absolute core, Bojan, was seemingly sleepwalking this match, acting uncertain and timid, causing the team’s offense to be soft and feeble.

The defensive system built around Chen Zhong by Real Madrid truly showed effect, curbing Bojan and Barcelona Youth.

In the stands, someone suddenly spoke up.

”If he grows a bit more.”

”If he were in the first team.”

”Would what Messi did to us last season not have happened?”

For a moment, everything was silent, only Schuster widened his eyes, wanting to see which kindred spirit said these words.
