Forced to Sell Myself to the Female Lead After Killing the Male Lead

”Sister Mengxi, your Emerald Blazing Fish Cakes, Shabedun Chicken, and Roasted Camel Dragon Meat are all ready~”

At noon, Yumo slowly pushed the dining cart into Mengxi’s lounge.

The moment she saw Yumo arrive,

Mengxi, who was sitting on the bed, immediately revealed a bright, radiant smile.

Completely ignoring the fact that she was wearing nothing but a thin white hospital gown, and the risk of accidentally exposing herself, Miss Mengxi, barefoot, was enveloped in a burst of silvery-white light and instantly appeared beside Yumo.

”Wow, Xiaomo, you’re amazing! You actually made them!”

Looking at the three delicious dishes, stars sparkled in Mengxi’s pale violet eyes.

After eating vegetarian food for several days,

she had already begun desperately missing Sister Yumo’s cooking...

She didn’t know whether it was because her palate had been spoiled by Yumo back in the Great Winter Forest, but now everything cooked by anyone else felt strangely bland.

To be honest,

Sister Yumo’s cooking was genuinely delicious...

So much so that,

although Mengxi had originally only asked her to cook as a way of teasing her,

the moment she actually saw the dishes,

happy tears uncontrollably welled up at the corners of her mouth...

”Wow, thank you so much, Xiaomo! Time for your reward~”

As she spoke,

Mengxi didn’t hesitate for a second. She scooped up Yumo, who was currently in her pink-haired girl form, and planted a huge kiss on her deliciously tempting... ahem!

...on her soft, fair little cheek.

”Eeh?! Sister?!”

Caught completely off guard by the sudden kiss, Yumo couldn’t help letting out a startled cry. However, perhaps because she had already gotten used to Mengxi constantly clinging to and kissing her lately, her reaction wasn’t nearly as dramatic as before. Once Mengxi set her down again, Yumo simply carried the dishes over to the nearby dining table.

”Sister Mengxi, eat while it’s still hot.”

”You feed me, Xiaomo~”

”Eh?”

Yumo froze for a moment, staring in surprise at the silver-haired girl before her.

”Sister... you want me... to feed you?”

”Yep~”

As she spoke, Mengxi puffed out her cheeks pitifully and raised her right hand, showing Yumo her injured fingers.

”Look. My fingers still haven’t recovered. I can’t properly hold a knife and fork yet. So pretty please, Xiaomo~”

”Uh... well...”

Your hands looked perfectly fine when you were pinching my cheeks earlier!

Yumo couldn’t help grumbling inwardly.

Still,

after thinking for a moment, she could only let out a helpless sigh. Faced with Mengxi’s watery puppy-dog eyes, she ultimately chose to give in.

As always, Yumo had absolutely no resistance to someone acting cute.

”Fine... if that’s what you want, Sister.”

”Hehe, Xiaomo is so good to me~”

”...”

Somehow, ever since waking up,

this girl had become more and more mischievous.

And besides...

Feeding her?

Looking at the freshly sliced piece of Camel Dragon meat in her hand, Yumo frowned slightly.

Back in the Great Winter Forest, she had been playing the role of the older sister, while Mengxi had essentially been a childlike patient. Feeding her back then had felt perfectly natural.

But now...

Wasn’t I supposed to be the child now?

The heroine is the older sister, okay?

So why am I still the one feeding her?

Something feels off.

Am I just destined to spend my life feeding people?

Thinking this, Miss Yumo pursed her lips in mild frustration.

Still, she quickly hid the tiny pout. Gently blowing on the meat to cool it down, she pierced it with a fork and brought it to Mengxi’s mouth.

After chewing for a moment,

the silver-haired girl immediately closed her eyes, wearing an expression of complete bliss.

”Mmm! It’s so delicious! Xiaomo, you’re incredible!”

”Hehe~”

Receiving Mengxi’s praise, Yumo smiled proudly.

Seeing the other girl enjoy her cooking so much and wear such a genuinely happy smile filled Yumo with a strong sense of accomplishment.

”I’m glad Sister Mengxi likes it.”

”Come to think of it, Xiaomo, this meat tastes amazing. It must be really fresh, right?”

”Yep. It was just cut.”

”Just?”

”Uh... I mean... the Black Rose Family had just returned from hunting, and they happened to bring back some Camel Dragon meat, so... they shared some with me.”

”Oh? I see~”

While continuing to enjoy the food Yumo fed her, Mengxi revealed an amused smile.

”Camel Dragon meat is an extremely rare ingredient. Fresh meat tastes the best, but it’s also °• N 𝑜 v 𝑒 l i g h t •° incredibly hard to come by. The Black Rose Family actually gave you some? And it’s even the best tail cut. Enmmm... Xiaomo, are you perhaps very close to the people from the Black Rose Family?”

”Not really. We’re not that close. We just spent some time together at the reception hall before. Maybe... they simply like children?”

Blinking her large eyes, Yumo answered with complete ”sincerity.”

There wasn’t the slightest trace of awkwardness in her expression.

However,

after hearing that answer, although Mengxi merely smiled,

her brows quietly lifted ever so slightly with hidden meaning.

Enmm...

Sister Yumo wasn’t telling the truth again.

At that moment, Mengxi felt slightly displeased.

No matter what,

she still hoped the girl before her would be honest with her...

Truthfully,

Sister Yumo’s acting was excellent.

When they first met, even she herself had been fooled.

But,

after spending so much time together,

Mengxi had discovered something surprising.

Although Sister Yumo’s acting was superb, there were still tiny flaws.

Her eyes.

The subtle movements of her fingers.

The minute fluctuations in her breathing.

Little details that never appeared during ordinary conversations would unconsciously emerge whenever Sister Yumo lied.

’How strange...’

Judging from Sister Yumo’s tone, facial muscles, and overall performance, she had obviously received professional acting training.

Whoever had taught her must have been a master-level actor.

Yet despite that,

she still possessed these minute imperfections.

They were enough to deceive almost anyone,

but spend enough time around a professional,

and eventually the cracks would show.

Were these flaws something her teacher had accidentally overlooked?

Or...

had the person who taught Sister Yumo deliberately held something back?

Intentionally leaving behind these tiny weaknesses?

Heh.

If that’s the case,

then perhaps the people around Sister Yumo all had their own hidden agendas as well...

—

At the very same moment,

Saiboke-Baniya, currently riding atop an Abyss Demon while carrying two black Abyss Demon eggs in his arms, suddenly sneezed for no apparent reason.

”Aa... achoo!”

Rubbing his nose, Saiboke-Baniya looked around in complete confusion.

Hm?

Why...

does it suddenly feel like someone’s talking behind my back?

—

Well, whatever.

At least,

thanks to that mysterious teacher,

it’s much easier for me to understand what Sister Yumo is really thinking now~

With that thought,

Mengxi slowly revealed a meaningful smile.

The sight alone made Yumo, sitting opposite her, shiver all over as an inexplicable chill ran down her spine.

”Alright, if you’re saying you’re not close, then you’re not close. I understand. But since they gave you meat, remember to return the favor someday.”

”Mhm, I know.”

”Good girl~”

Pinching Yumo’s soft, fair little cheek, Mengxi nodded in satisfaction.

However,

as she continued pinching,

a thought gradually surfaced in her mind.

Now that she could roughly tell whether Sister Yumo was lying by observing those tiny details,

there was one question

she had become extremely curious about...

Judging from the earlier conversation between Sister Yumo and the Cult Leader of the Heavenly Punishment Holy Church,

Sister Yumo had approached her

and nurtured her

for the purpose of destroying the Hall of Ten Thousand Demons.

So then...

what did Sister Yumo, an Abyss Demon herself,

actually think of her deep down?

Although Mengxi could already make a rough guess from Yumo’s actions,

she still wanted absolute confirmation.

After taking several deep breaths,

Mengxi rested her chin on one hand, looked seriously at the pink-haired little girl before her, and gently held Yumo’s soft little hand.

”Xiaomo, can I ask you something?”

”Hm? What is it, Sister Mengxi?”

The sudden seriousness caught Yumo off guard.

Her azure-blue eyes blinked curiously as she looked at Mengxi with slight confusion.

Under Yumo’s curious gaze,

Mengxi slowly spoke.

”Xiaomo... honestly... what kind of person do you think I am?”

”Hm? Enmm... a good person. A very gentle, wonderful big sister!”

”Then... Xiaomo... do you like your big sister?”

”Hm?”

Why is she suddenly asking that?

Yumo was momentarily stunned once again.

However, after recovering, she nodded without the slightest hesitation and answered in an innocent, adorable voice,

”Of course I do~”

Our Mengxi is so adorable, kind, pure, beautiful, brave, and considerate.

How could anyone not like such a wonderful girl?

After hearing Yumo’s answer,

and carefully observing every reaction from the pink-haired girl,

a faint blush slowly spread across Mengxi’s cheeks.

’Sister Yumo... this time... she wasn’t lying...’
