One Piece: Collective Viewing of the Future, Starting from God Valley

Chapter 227: Chapter 227: Merciless Bite

...

Outside the light screen, Big Mom’s gaze was firmly locked on the figure of Momonosuke’s pink giant dragon dodging Kaido’s attack...

Her eyes narrowed into slits, a light deeper than greed flickering in the gaps. It was the unique gleam of a schemer seeing ”possibility”!

The Azure Dragon Fruit had originally been Big Mom’s main goal in coming to God Valley. It was something she had dreamed of obtaining, but in the end Kaido had interfered...

Big Mom had already completely given up on this Devil Fruit, but now, with the unexpected appearance of someone like Momonosuke on the light screen, Big Mom’s hopes had been reignited!

She definitely couldn’t be like Blackbeard and possess two Devil Fruits at the same time, but now with Vegapunk’s technology, that was no longer a problem at all.

As long as she brought Vegapunk under her wing right now, and then in the future—or even now—tied Kaido up and extracted his lineage factor or whatever...

If the technology wasn’t there yet, she could wait. She had countless future children. She would definitely be able to wait until the day the research succeeded!

”Vegapunk... Vegapunk...”

”This man, I must get my hands on him. That man actually used Kaido’s lineage factor and really created a second dragon!”

Big Mom muttered under her breath. Her voice was very soft. Aside from Zeus, Prometheus, and Napoleon who were very close to her, no one else heard it...

Prometheus carefully asked: ”Mama, what are you thinking about?”

”Thinking about what?”

Big Mom smiled. That smile could be called brilliant—she didn’t even bother acting: ”Mam-ma-ma-ma, I’m thinking that once things here are over, I’ll use every means possible to find this Vegapunk!”

She paused, her voice suddenly dropping lower. She lowered her head and looked in Kaido’s direction with a wicked grin...

”As long as I find Vegapunk, I’ll find a chance to tie up that brat Kaido. I’ve been making money hand over fist these years and have quite a bit saved up. I can let that Vegapunk do experiments...”

”As long as he creates the Azure Dragon Fruit, then my future children will also be able to turn into that kind of dragon!”

Although Big Mom’s plan sounded very strange and very crazy, Zeus and the others would never dare to outwardly agree while inwardly disobeying. All they could do was nod and go along with Big Mom...

Although they weren’t human, they could all hear what was in that tone...

It wasn’t ”if,” it wasn’t ”maybe,” it wasn’t any assumption with uncertainty.

It was determination. It was Big Mom-style, unquestionable determination.

”Even if there are some flaws and the replicated things aren’t complete...”

Big Mom continued speaking to herself: ”If every one of this old lady’s children could turn into that kind of giant dragon, Mam-ma-ma-ma! Ruling the world would just be a matter of time, wouldn’t it?”

At the thought of every child in her future pirate crew being able to soar through the skies as giant dragons, Big Mom this time couldn’t hold it in and directly laughed out loud...

The sharp laughter echoed around God Valley.

This action immediately attracted the gazes of the people around her. Roger looked at Big Mom curiously, Scopper Gaban also had a face full of confusion, and Gloriosa and Shakky all cast strange looks...

Seeing so many people staring at her, even Big Mom couldn’t help but blush a little and feel awkward...

At this moment, Big Mom suddenly noticed that Kaido beside her still hadn’t reacted at all.

Normally, if Big Mom made a fool of herself like this, Kaido would have already started teasing her. But right now, Kaido was only silent...

He was seriously staring at the light screen with a serious expression.

That silent gaze made even Big Mom feel somewhat unaccustomed.

”Tch...”

For a moment Big Mom still felt somewhat unaccustomed. Unwilling to admit defeat, she withdrew her gaze and no longer looked at this suddenly cold brat.

She didn’t understand what Kaido was thinking.

And she didn’t care either...

Right now, she only cared about that pink dragon. She only cared about the possibility that could make her pirate crew ”rule the world.”

On the other side, Rocks was also staring at the light screen.

But unlike Big Mom, his gaze wasn’t on that pink giant dragon, but on the bandaged boy standing on the dragon’s head.

”Straw Hat kid... Monkey D. Luffy... Is he also a ’D’?”

Rocks softly muttered this name, his brows involuntarily furrowing slightly, as if he had thought of something serious...

The members of the Rocks Pirates looked at each other.

They rarely saw Rocks show such lasting interest in someone, especially toward a brat who wasn’t even as old as Kaido.

”This kid has come this far...”

Rocks slowly opened his mouth, his voice low: ”This kind of tenacity and luck is actually quite interesting.”

He paused, the corners of his mouth curving into a faint arc: ”Maybe this kid really can stir up some trouble.”

Silver Axe couldn’t help but ask: ”Boss, do you think he can beat Kaido?”

Rocks didn’t answer directly. He only gazed at the boy in the light screen who was commanding Momonosuke to fight...

He stared like that for a long time. Looking at those eyes that were brighter than ever before, a long while later, he softly said one sentence: ”Whether he wins or not isn’t important.”

”What’s important is... he’s already slowly becoming someone Kaido finds troublesome!”

These words made everyone around fall silent. They made it so that Kaido had no choice but to take him seriously...

If these words came from someone else’s mouth, they might just be exaggeration.

But coming from Rocks’ mouth, they were fact. An opponent who could make that ”World’s Strongest Creature” treat him seriously—on these seas, there were only a handful.

Roger sat cross-legged on a rock, one hand propping up his chin, a certain indescribable light flickering in his eyes.

”That kid’s crew members are all monsters.”

Watching Zoro, who was so heavily injured yet still fighting on the front lines, Roger’s tone carried a trace of inexplicable ”novelty.”

Rayleigh raised an eyebrow: ”What do you mean?”

Roger summarized the performance of the Straw Hat crew. Although the samurai of Wano Country had also contributed, the main force was still the Straw Hat crew...

Listening to Roger’s words, Rayleigh looked toward Luffy’s figure in the light screen. The curve of his lips grew wider and wider.

”Someone who can make so many monsters willingly follow him... This kid isn’t simple.”

Rayleigh said this, then suddenly laughed. He looked at Roger and immediately teased: ”Sounds a bit like someone when he was young.”

Roger froze for a moment, then burst out laughing.

”Guhahaha! Is that so? I actually think he’s better than me. When I was young, I wasn’t as good at causing trouble as him!”

Hearing Roger still pretending to be an ”honest person,” Rayleigh suddenly chuckled lightly. Scopper Gaban, who was beside them, also laughed so hard he couldn’t close his mouth after hearing Roger’s words...

Scopper Gaban’s gaze also fell on Luffy. He moved back and forth between Luffy and Momonosuke, finally landing on that pink giant dragon.

In those experienced eyes, one could see that Momonosuke had great potential. If he grew up, it wasn’t impossible for him to become a second ”Kaido”!

Inside the light screen, everyone thought that pink giant dragon would continue trembling and continue dodging under Kaido’s pressure...

After all, he was just a child who had only just turned into a dragon for less than an hour.

And he was facing a monster who had dominated the seas for decades, killed countless strong people, and was called the ”World’s Strongest Creature.”

No one expected him to counterattack. Not even Kaido.

So when Momonosuke suddenly opened his huge mouth and bit down on Kaido’s body, the entire field fell silent.

”What...”

”AAAAAAAH!”

Kaido’s dragon pupils contracted sharply. The sound squeezed from the depths of his throat was abruptly cut off by this bite.

Momonosuke had counterattacked. However, his attack wasn’t Heat Breath, wasn’t a sweeping wind blade, and wasn’t even the ”attack” everyone outside the light screen had expected.

Momonosuke’s counterattack was very simple—it was a bite. He used his teeth, used those indestructible dragon fangs, and bit down.

”You... damn it!!!!”

Kaido’s miserable scream resounded through the sky.

That wasn’t an act. It wasn’t exaggeration. It wasn’t any tactical show of weakness.

That was a genuine, heartfelt scream of pain that reached the bone marrow.

They were both dragons. They both possessed bodies covered in dragon scales.

But when two dragons tangled together, when that pink giant dragon bit down hard on the blue giant dragon’s body, so-called defense became useless.

Dragon scales could block blades. They could block bullets. They could block the attacks of most Devil Fruit users.

But they clearly couldn’t block another dragon’s teeth.

And this was Momonosuke using the only method he had and knew to tell Kaido, ”I won’t run away anymore!”

”It hurts! It hurts it hurts it hurts!!”

Kaido thrashed wildly in the sky. His blue dragon body convulsed frantically, trying to shake off that pink giant dragon hanging onto his body.

His dragon tail swept about chaotically, tearing the surrounding clouds into shreds. His dragon claws flailed randomly but couldn’t reach that position no matter what.

Momonosuke bit down hard and refused to let go.

There was a flame burning in his dragon pupils that had never been there before.

It was anger. It was hatred.

”Damn you, Kaido!!”

Momonosuke’s voice squeezed out from between his tightly clenched teeth. It was muffled yet deafening.

”It’s you! You’re the one who turned the originally happy Wano Country into an irreversible hell!”

Kaido’s struggling became even more violent.

”If it wasn’t for you! Father wouldn’t have died! Mother wouldn’t have...!!”

Momonosuke couldn’t continue speaking, because tears had already blurred the corners of his eyes.

But even so, Momonosuke still didn’t let go.

He still bit down hard on that patricidal enemy, biting down on the source of every nightmare he had had for over ten years, biting down on that monster who had dominated Wano Country and made the dawn never arrive...

”If it wasn’t for you...” His voice choked.

Outside the light screen, countless people held their breath.

”That little brat...”

The young Kaido muttered to himself. A complex light flickered in his eyes: ”He really bit down...”

Whitebeard silently watched this scene. Garp had stopped laughing at this moment. The strong ones were all surprised by Momonosuke’s attack.

...

”What the hell are you doing!? You little brat!!”

In the scene, Kaido’s emotions began to recover, but his roar exploded in the sky like thunder.

He had finally stopped that disgraceful struggling. Forcibly suppressing the pain, his dragon pupils stared fixedly at that pink giant dragon hanging onto his body.

There was anger in those eyes, there was killing intent, but more than that there was something even he himself was unwilling to admit.

It was shock. It was disbelief.

It was something he thought had long since disappeared from this world—the thing called ”backbone.”

This little brat he had never placed in his eyes. This good-for-nothing who had just been trembling in midair, who couldn’t even fly steadily...

Was now biting his neck, shedding tears, yet refusing to let go.

”You think this is enough to defeat me?!”

Kaido’s dragon mouth opened wide. Blazing energy gathered once more: ”This old man is the World’s Strongest!!”

He prepared to attack. He prepared to use the most violent method to blast this ”parasite” hanging onto his body into pieces.

No matter if it would injure himself, he only wanted to make this damned dragon let go.

”Lord Momonosuke! Run quickly!!”

Yamato’s cry came through. She knew the other side had already done very well. Now it was just time to leave it to Luffy...

”You’ve already done very well.”

Yamato’s voice was even more urgent. She gripped her kanabo tightly, preparing to charge up and help...

But the distance was too far. She couldn’t fly up.

Inside and outside the light screen, everyone knew that Momonosuke had already reached the limit of what he could do.

An eight-year-old child had bitten the World’s Strongest Creature, forced the other side to let out a miserable scream, and made everyone witness Kaido losing his composure...

This was already enough. It really was enough.

”Momo!”

At this moment, a voice came from above.

It was Luffy.

Luffy stood atop the pink giant dragon’s head, looking at those tear-filled eyes, looking at that resolve that refused to let go of Kaido’s body.

He looked at Momonosuke. He looked at those eyes.

”Good job.”

Luffy’s tone was exactly like he was praising a child who had just learned how to walk.

”Leave the rest to me... You let go first and get away.”

Momonosuke wanted to say something. He wanted to say ”I’m not afraid,” wanted to say ”I want to keep fighting,” wanted to say ”Let me help you.”

But he didn’t say anything.

Because he saw Luffy’s eyes... Those eyes told him: You’ve already done very well! Leave the rest to him!
