All Worlds Beg the Villainess to Act Like a Human

Chapter 515: Chapter 515: Terminally Ill Heiress on Death Game Island (31)

”Player R63, are you sure you choose number 5?” the mechanical voice asked Qiann Yan, and everyone had become numb to this voice.

The R-numbered players were the most nervous, staring intently at cage number 5 where Zhou Hao was. They couldn’t quite understand why Qiann Yan chose number 5 without hesitation.

From their interactions, Shi Cheng was obviously more reliable than Zhou Hao. Shi Cheng was still a team leader; betraying a teammate would clearly have a big impact on him.

Furthermore, Shi Cheng’s twelve-member team wasn’t short of food for now, thanks to Jin XiYuaan lending them his stored supplies.

Ling Qianyan was Jin XiYuaan’s fiancée, and in consideration of the food he lent, Shi Cheng shouldn’t betray Qiann Yan.

This was what everyone thought.

In contrast, Zhou Hao was just an inconspicuous member of a team, and at this point, it wasn’t surprising for him to betray a teammate.

”I’m sure,” Qiann Yan’s voice rang out, bringing everyone back to their senses.

Only cage number 5 was left on the field, and everyone held their breath.

Jin XiYuaan and the two others were very tense, but when they glanced at Zhou Hao and Shi Cheng’s reactions, they suddenly felt relieved.

Because Zhou Hao looked relaxed and even smiled.

In contrast, Shi Cheng’s face didn’t look good as he looked at Qiann Yan, full of bewilderment. Obviously, he was very puzzled why she chose to trust Zhou Hao instead of him.

Without a doubt, the black cloth on cage number 5 was lifted, revealing it was empty inside.

The R-numbered players watched Shi Cheng stepping down in disbelief, and the other three members of Shi Cheng’s original team looked at him with full of vigilance.

Clearly, the trust within this four-person team had collapsed.

Jin XiYuaan and the others approached Qiann Yan with nervous faces, Fang Qing was the first to ask, ”Qiann Yan, how did you know Shi Cheng’s answer was wrong? Both of them looked calm, without any flaws.”

Qiann Yan: ”Maybe it was just good luck.”

In fact, she did know the answer, but couldn’t say it. So far, the plot hadn’t changed, so the number for the empty cage shouldn’t have been wrong.

She didn’t rely solely on memory; at the moment of choosing number 5, she observed Zhou Hao and Shi Cheng’s expressions. Shi Cheng’s fleeting shock in his eyes proved she wasn’t wrong.

The original protagonist, in dealing with this round with two empty cages, initially picked a person randomly, immediately observing their expressions. Back then, she chose number 4, and in that instant, she noticed Shi Cheng’s tense body relax, so when the mechanical voice asked, she switched her choice to number 5.

If she didn’t know the answer, she would probably have done the same as the original protagonist.

However, this method is only applicable in the early stages. As players stay longer, it’s harder to read their true reactions.

When facing the challenge, one might only see expressionless faces, making life-and-death decisions without a flinch.

Jin XiYuaan reassured, ”It’s fine as long as we’re okay, but we need to be even more careful now.”

”XiYuaan, is being careful still effective?” Lu Shanyang couldn’t help but say, ”Being careful is useless now; it’s all about luck. If it were us standing behind the empty cages, there wouldn’t be mistakes. Handing the opportunity to others makes it uncertain. As long as no small hints appear, it’s fine, but if punishment or reward hints do show up, others will definitely betray us.”
