A Foodie Transmigrated into the Palace

Chapter 1543

After half a day of hard work.

Lin Siyin finally managed to organize the items to be sent to the Taishang Huang and the Empress Dowager by evening.

When Zhao Qichen returned from his busy day, she straightforwardly spread the list in front of him.

”See if these are appropriate; I’ve never done this before!”

Zhao Qichen looked at it with a half-smile that gradually stiffened.

”Why... why are they all medicines?!”

Lin Siyin quickly explained.

”The Taishang Huang and the Empress Dowager are getting older, their health isn’t great, sending some premium supplements might come in handy!”

”Actually, not everything is medicine. Look, there are blankets, fabrics, gold and silver jewelry, and other things too!”

Zhao Qichen was suddenly amused.

”You, ah you! What are you doing with all these?”

”Don’t they lack silver after being away for so long?” Lin Siyin was surprised.

”Not at all!”

Zhao Qichen said decisively.

It’s unlikely that anyone in this world lacks silver, except his mother and father!

Besides, he had specifically dispatched a team to regularly send them supplies.

All sorts of rare herbs and precious treasures, anything they could use, he would send over.

Unfortunately, most of them were returned, unused.

Over time.

He sent them less frequently, choosing instead to send unique herbs and bundles of silver notes.

His mother is frugal, and his father barely spends any silver; they have an abundance of gold and silver jewelry, so they lack nothing.

”But!”

He suddenly smiled, thinking differently.

”What you send, they might actually want!”

”Why not give it a try?”

Lin Siyin nodded in realization.

”Of course I’ll try, you haven’t finished looking, keep going!”

Zhao Qichen flipped the page over and looked carefully, his expression gradually becoming serious.

”What is all this?”

”Farm tools, seeds, and... folk medicinal recipes?!”

Though a bit jumbled, it truly seemed like the style his mother liked, he nodded.

”Alright!”

”Great, I think mother will definitely like them!!”

Lin Siyin clutched the list to her chest, laughing.

”Of course, haven’t you noticed who I am?”

After all, she had spent some time with the Empress Dowager.

Looking at her residence and the things she often fiddles with, it was clear she would find these carefully crafted farm tools useful.

As for the medicinal recipes, they were meticulously formulated based on her years of medical experience.

The Empress Dowager’s constitution is very weak, having bore four children.

If not for the Royal Family’s resources and the myriad precious herbs nourishing her, she would have long been exhausted and her body collapsed. These medicinal recipes are tasty and nourishing, often consumed to strengthen bones and vital energy, replenishing blood and qi.

As for the Taishang Huang, his illness... fluctuates, it’s hard to say, the nourishing lung recipes must be the most important.

Sorting these items took quite a long time, and she felt a bit drowsy.

”Alright, once you confirm, I’ll have someone prepare them!”

”I’m so tired, I need to nap first!”

”Let’s have dinner a bit later”

Saying this, she yawned and walked inside.

Zhao Qichen, feeling amused, was about to join her for a rest.

Li Deming suddenly came in to report.

”Emperor, there are two officials seeking an audience in the Imperial Study Room!”

Zhao Qichen’s footsteps paused, and he was forced to turn and leave.

The affairs of the court are pressing, rest is elusive!

...

Lin Siyin slept soundly.

So much so that Shao Yao was worriedly pacing in the inner hall, reluctant to wake her.

She was tangled in her thoughts.

”How can I tell her this bad news later!”

”This is too difficult to speak of, how could such shameless acts occur in the harem?”

”Hmph! I knew that woman was up to no good. Didn’t expect she’d act so quickly!”

”Truly shameless, what would people say if this got out?”

”Even the Empress wouldn’t escape harsh words!”

It’s likely chaotic outside, not knowing how the Emperor is handling it.

If he dealt with it directly, it might be fine, but if... oh dear, in any case, Empress must not be too angry!

Lin Siyin was awakened by the sound of hasty footsteps.

She frowned and tossed aside the quilt, getting up.

”Shao Yao?”

”What are you up to?”

The two were well-accustomed to one another and spoke without reserve. She asked directly.

Shao Yao saw her awake and quickly took three steps in two strides to approach.

”Empress, something big has happened in the harem, please, don’t be angry!”

Lin Siyin frowned.

”I’m the only one in the harem, what big thing could happen!”

”Tell me!”

Shao Yao couldn’t hold back and explained the situation clearly in no time.

”Here’s the thing!”

”After you slept, the Emperor went to the Imperial Study Room to handle state affairs. When he returned to Jiaofang Hall, he encountered some trouble!”

”What trouble?”

Lin Siyin’s expression became somewhat tense.

She felt uneasy upon hearing the word Imperial Garden for some reason.

”It was Sheng Chunhua; she disguised herself as a black-clad figure to lure the Emperor into the dark, then tore her own clothes and used her cries to draw many Palace Maids and eunuchs from the Imperial Garden!”

”Empress, the Emperor is absolutely innocent!”

”Eunuch Li Deming saw clearly; the Emperor didn’t lay a finger on her!”

Lin Siyin: ”...”

She was somewhat astonished that such an incident occurred in the harem, wondering what it qualified as, assault?

”Since he didn’t touch her, isn’t that offending the Emperor? Can’t she be dealt with directly?”

Why was Shao Yao making such a fuss?!

”Oh my, Empress, you have no idea, it’s not that simple!”

”The Emperor didn’t touch her, we know that, but others don’t!”

”It was already too late when all the older and younger Palace Attendants hurried to watch; they didn’t see the process, only the outcome!”

Lin Siyin still waved it off.

”Such matters don’t have process and outcome!”

”If the Emperor doesn’t admit it, her actions are useless!”

Shao Yao remained worried.

”That’s true, but... if word spreads inevitably...”

She hadn’t finished speaking when they heard a series of footsteps outside.

Before Lin Siyin could get up to greet, Zhao Qichen, wearing a dark face, swept inside with large strides.

”...”

”Util... Util...” Lin Siyin was a bit hesitant to speak, never having seen such a dark expression!

”Enough of the greetings!”

Zhao Qichen hoisted her up with an arm, his tone domineering.

”The ground is cold, you’re not wearing shoes, go sit on the couch!”

”Oh...”

Lin Siyin turned back in defeat.

Zhao Qichen, unwilling to waste words, dismissed the servants and directly revealed his intentions to her.

”You must have heard about it!!”

”I intend to sentence her to death, what do you think?”

His tone was rarely so cold and rigid, making Lin Siyin somewhat afraid.

”Huh?!!”

”Sentence to death! Isn’t that a bit excessive!”

That woman is shameless, but not to the extent of losing her life!

Heavens, how could the Emperor talk about taking a life just like that!
