A Foodie Transmigrated into the Palace

Yilan couldn’t help but criticize inwardly.

’Look, what’s the point of wanting a man like this?’

’Divorce, we must divorce. She can’t endure it even for one more day!’

After thinking, she laughed and said.

”Why not... Master Prince, why don’t you ask the Madam to find you another proper wife!”

”I’m neither virtuous nor able to bear children, I’m not gentle or considerate to you, and I’m scheming. You might as well have Madam find you a proper wife!”

”That way, the Nan Family won’t always be in the spotlight, and Madam won’t always be angry!”

Nan Yunze was very angry inside, but then thought maybe she was doing it deliberately to provoke him.

Instantly, he wasn’t angry anymore and instead smiled.

”That won’t do!”

”We were united by our parents’ command and matchmakers’ words. How can we say divorce and get divorced?”

”Don’t worry, it’s no problem if you can’t bear children!”

”Once I take in a few more concubines, there will be one who can give birth, and you can just adopt one!”

This time it was Yilan’s turn to be angry. She glared at him fiercely and snapped.

”You’re insane!”

Nan Yunze was in a good mood.

”So what if I’m insane? I’m your husband!”

”No! I just want to divorce you!”

”I don’t agree, so you can’t leave!”

”You...”

Yilan was at a loss for words, utterly blocked in speech.

Nan Yunze was in such a good mood, looking around him, he felt that even the scenery of this sizzling summer day was so beautiful.

Yilan sat quietly at the side without speaking.

The two of them sat there quietly like a painting.

At this moment, a servant boy suddenly ran over to report.

”Master, Maternal Aunt Tan requests an audience!”

Yilan’s expression changed slightly, but quickly returned to normal.

Nan Yunze said deliberately.

”Let her come in!”

Yilan didn’t say anything either.

After a moment, Tan Biluo, finely dressed and looking radiant, came in.

She wore a long dress made of water-blue thin silk, crafted from the finest Ice Silk. The cuffs and hem were adorned with thumb-sized pearls, her white sleeves hung on her arms, ready to float like a descending fairy with a breeze.

Her thick black hair was styled into the most fashionable Frost Moon Bun, adorned with various pearls and jade hairpins.

Compared to Tan Biluo’s elegant yet plain attire, Yilan’s grand, simple, and modest dress seemed somewhat inferior.

However...

One is the County Princess and proper wife, one is a concubine—there is no comparison, so... it’s unimportant.

Tan Biluo entered the door and properly saluted.

”This humble wife greets Master Prince and Madam!”

Yilan scrutinized her a few times, her eyes slightly brightened.

’Oh, she’s improved quite a bit. Just don’t know if it’s genuine or deliberately done for Nan Yunze to see!’

But that doesn’t matter either. It’s not related to her anyway.

Nan Yunze didn’t think much, directly waving her to rise.

”Thank you, Master!”

Tan Biluo didn’t bother with the mistress’s opinion, happily rose up.

”Why are you here?”

Nan Yunze asked with a mock smile.

Tan Biluo joyfully stepped forward, coquettishly replied.

”Responding to the Master, the weather is hot, and with nothing to do, I personally made some sour plum soup. If Master doesn’t mind, please drink it!”

Ignoring Yilan completely, treating her as if she was not there?

Yilan felt a bit sarcastic inside but kept smiling.

Nan Yunze didn’t say much, just nodded faintly.

”Bring it up!”

Tan Biluo was overjoyed and personally poured a cup and handed it to Nan Yunze.

During the moment their hands touched, she pretended to accidentally make contact.

Afterward, she shyly withdrew to the side, demurely watching her cousin drink the sour plum soup.

Unfortunately for her, the cousin didn’t drink it, just smelled it and laid it aside.

He looked up at her, smiled and asked.

”The sour plum soup is nice, do you have anything else?”

She was somewhat disappointed, her voice low.

”No more!”

Nan Yunze waved her away.

”Then you should leave!”

Tan Biluo felt a deeper disappointment, looking confused and incredulous, her big eyes quickly filled with tears.

”Cousin!”

”I...”

”Do you still not trust me!”

”Cousin, Biluo once made mistakes, but Biluo has changed!”

Her words weren’t finished before her tears dropped.

Nan Yunze felt a headache.

”When did I say I didn’t trust you?”

Tan Biluo: ”But you didn’t drink! That’s what I personally brewed all afternoon!”

”You not drinking means you don’t trust me!”

She cried while speaking, making Yilan speechless.

What kind of twisted logic is this...?

Nan Yunze was silent for a long time, suddenly sneered.

”You say... you’ve changed?”

Tan Biluo nodded desperately.

Nan Yunze questioned further.

”Then you say... You understand the rules now?”

Tan Biluo nodded again.

Nan Yunze sneered again.

”Since you claim to understand the rules, why would you not know who should taste the sour plum soup first?”

He glanced at Yilan, making his intention clear.

Tan Biluo’s face turned pale instantly.

Compared to being misunderstood by her cousin, the County Princess, Yilan, is the greatest threat.

Even if she’s not favored, she’s the proper wife with a status that can’t be surpassed, according to the rules, she should diligently serve her.

But...

Didn’t her cousin not like her?

Before, in such situations her cousin would turn a blind eye, but now...

Why is her cousin suddenly saying these things?

Tan Biluo was bewildered, momentarily at a loss for words.

Yilan quickly said.

”I don’t need it!”

”Husband... You drink the soup instead!”

”I have a small kitchen in my courtyard, I’m not lacking this!”

Nan Yunze ignored her, directly addressed Tan Biluo.

”Remember your status, I don’t want to repeat such mistakes again!”

Tan Biluo felt so wronged.

Almost holding back tears, she knelt.

”Yes, cousin!”

Nan Yunze was furious again.

”Is that a title you should be using? You don’t know what you should call me?”

The tears Tan Biluo held back streamed down again.

”Yes! Master Prince, Madam Imperial Concubine!”

Nan Yunze finally felt wholly satisfied and waved her off.

”Go!”

Tan Biluo left feeling aggrieved, led away by the servant boy.

Yilan couldn’t help but taunt him.

”You’re quite a man now, weren’t you bold like this when marrying others?”

”Look how arrogant you are!”

Nan Yunze raised his brow directly.

”She wasn’t like that back then!”

”She used to be kind, I don’t know why she’s changed so much!”

Yilan waved her hand and stood up.

”Forget it, I don’t want to be involved in your affairs!”

”Besides, how many concubines you take has nothing to do with me!”

She should have figured that out earlier, shouldn’t she?

Nan Yunze felt a bit disturbed inside.

”Why do you say that?”

Yilan replied: ”We once had an agreement, didn’t we?”

After saying that, she smiled and left.

Leaving Nan Yunze alone in the pavilion, pondering deeply.

Finally... he remembered the promise they had shortly after marriage, that they wouldn’t interfere with each other.

His expression grew grimmer.

Staring at the thin white clouds in the sky, he sighed with deep regret.

’What the heck was I thinking back then?’
