Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 1864: Chapter 1867: Infiltration

Liu Fang was excited.

An uncontrollable excitement.

As a part of the hundred thousand Iron Cavalry, ever since Young Master Bu opened the door to another world, he had been eagerly waiting to fight for Young Master Bu in that world again!

Perhaps, by modern standards, it seems somewhat foolish and ridiculous.

After all, in this materialistic society, loyalty, especially the kind where one is willing to lay down their life, appears to be extremely foolish behavior.

However, he didn’t think so, and none of the hundred thousand Iron Cavalry thought so.

In this world, there are always things more important than life!

Moreover, most people recognize this fact, only they’re unaware of it!

Otherwise, why does everyone agree with the saying that people die for wealth and birds die for food?

When people, with bloodshot eyes, rush towards money at the risk of getting hanged, do they also think they’re being foolish?

I fear no one would think that way!

He’s just no longer concerned with money, but rather cares more about conquering lands for that man. What’s wrong with risking life for this?

That man is worthy of such thoughts and actions from him!

And today, his opportunity has come, as part of the reconnaissance troops led by Dawa into this new island, this is the perfect chance for him to build achievements and expand territory for that man!

Soon, he arrived at the designated location.

Liu Fang watched the brothers who still needed to continue their journey, feeling boundless strength as each one pounded their fist on their heart.

Once the brothers who needed to leave had gone, he whispered to the remaining four brothers in his squad: ”Next, prepare to disperse. Our target is this small town, and it’s somewhat challenging, so everyone please be careful!”

”Alright! You too!”

All four brothers murmured a response and then dispersed.

Liu Fang parted ways with the brothers, took a deep breath as he looked at the rather prosperous small town in front of him, and proceeded forward.

Their mission was to infiltrate this small town and gather the necessary information.

After taking a few steps, Liu Fang’s expression gradually resumed a calm demeanor as he nonchalantly walked toward the town.

Information gathered by local informants about this island’s social structure began to churn in his mind.

The entire island’s structure is somewhat similar to the ancient feudal system.

Except, here, the division doesn’t rely on blood ties but on forces.

The Mahayana Realm Emperor of Sword Island is naturally the owner of the entire island, and his subordinates in the Crossing Tribulation stage implement a feudal system, each given a territory to manage, only needing to pay the Emperor his share!

The ones below Crossing Tribulation naturally follow suit, as they don’t have the time to constantly oversee their territories, they too divide their domains according to power.

This step-by-step division creates a relatively hierarchical social system.

The lowest level, of course, consists of ordinary mortals.

This system seems beautiful and orderly!

However, there’s no perfect system in this world; with a system, there are loopholes.

Initially, the founding individuals naturally divided the territories, but what about those who rose to power later?

You can’t favor one over the other, right!

But the island’s territory is limited, and giving land to newly risen leaders means the original leaders must yield land.

Who would be willing to do that!

Consequently, conflicts inevitably emerged, secret struggles erupted constantly!

Fortunately, it’s incredibly difficult for Cultivators to become true leaders, requiring an extended period of time.

This leads to a bizarre phenomenon — those at the bottom don’t fight, fighting is useless, few new leaders appear at the top, also don’t fight!

The most intense battles occur in the middle tiers — Golden Core cultivators exist as cannon fodder, Nascent Soul cultivators serve as main fighting forces, Out-of-Body Stage cultivators form the main combat tier, Divine Separation cultivators represent the highest level of opposition!

Thus, Liu Fang as a Nascent Soul Cultivator appearing on this island isn’t all that abrupt!

Walking along, Liu Fang saw the target small town appear before him.

This town, gradually established due to the transition of mining needs, almost all industries within it have some relation to mining.

The highest combat power here, the highest officer, is at the Out-of-Body Stage.

Logically, such a high-level cultivator shouldn’t appear in such a small town, given how tiny the area is.

But who cares, there’s a mine nearby!

A mountain doesn’t need to be tall to be spiritual if there’s a dragon, even without a dragon, profits are enough to attract these greedy-eyed Cultivators!

Therefore, this leads to the situation where, although it’s just a small town, it possesses Out-of-Body Stage combat power, Nascent Soul cultivators are everywhere, and Golden Core cultivators can be found all over.

Thinking of this, Liu Fang couldn’t help but be secretly alarmed.

Glimpsing the bigger picture, just by observing this small town, he knew if Gourd Island didn’t have these outsiders like them, purely relying on local strength, it would be far behind Sword Island.

After all, in Gourd Island, many small towns have Golden Core cultivators as City Lords.

But here, Golden Core cultivators end up being almost like laborers!

Well, Sword Island did have an early appearance of Mahayana Realm cultivators, and thus established a corresponding system early!

Take Gourd Island for instance, after Young Master Bu unified it and established a system, the probability of Cultivators appearing increased rapidly. At least the sad incidents of batches dying on Blood Continent for that pitiful core admission quota yearly have ceased.

These people, having not died meaninglessly, naturally convert into combat power in other aspects!

While pondering, Liu Fang walked into this mining town. No one stopped him, as a Nascent Soul here couldn’t stir much trouble.

Upon entering the town, Liu Fang found an inn to stay in, as he needed to observe the town’s operational structure more carefully.

After all, hearing is misleading, seeing is believing, much of the information from the informants covers macro aspects, specifics on how to integrate into the town require his own observation.

The simplest part, he first needed to observe the lifestyle attitude of the Nascent Soul cultivators here, and their daily life situations. Otherwise, if he kept the superior attitude seen in Gourd Island, he would surely be noticed.

After all, as part of the reconnaissance troops, his responsibility is significant, so he must exercise caution repeatedly, or else not only would his safety be compromised, but it would also significantly affect the safety of the brothers who follow!

If he made mistakes and lost his life, that’s his own fault, but if his errors lead to the brothers losing their lives, that’s a colossal offense!
