Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 1863: Chapter 1866: Operation

Dusk of that day.

The Supervisor watched with a sycophantic smile as the team collecting ores gradually moved away from the mine.

Once they were completely out of sight, the Supervisor’s expression quickly tightened, and he spat fiercely: ”Damn it, do they really think they’re some kind of big shot? Who do they think they are! Those bastards who bully others!”

After cursing, the resentment in the Supervisor’s heart was swept away. He shook his wine gourd again, ready to head back.

Today’s task was done, so the next two days would be the most relaxing ones.

He wasn’t even planning to supervise the slaves anymore but rather to get thoroughly drunk and then find an occasion to unwind!

As for the volume of the ore?

If it wasn’t enough, he would just drive those bastards to dig like their lives depended on it—just ten or twenty more should do!

Just as he was delighting in these thoughts, two hands suddenly emerged from the ground and grabbed his ankles!

Before he even had time to feel fear from this eerie sensation, his whole body suddenly sank and quickly vanished into the earth!

Soon after, a muffled and stifled scream echoed, then there was no more sound.

A moment later, Snake Head emerged from the ground in the Supervisor’s attire, brushing off the places stained with blood and dust, looking towards the nearby Supervisor’s rest area!

After a few more screams, that area quieted down once more.

Subsequently, the clansmen of Snake Head, each dressed in the Supervisor’s uniform, emerged.

”Reporting to the king, everything has been handled cleanly!”

A small clan leader quickly stepped forward and reported in a low voice.

As a race living underground, these few days were enough for them to figure everything out!

So not only the Supervisors in the open but also the overseers in the shadows were easily eradicated from the ground by them!

”Very good, immediately assign personnel, one team to take high points to monitor the surroundings, a second team to explore the surrounding routes, a third team to track the ore transport team and find out their movements, and a fourth team to take over the Supervisor’s work and oversee the slaves starting to mine!”

Snake Head quickly issued commands.

Intelligence is needed, but the work of supervising cannot be overlooked. With this mine as cover, it will be easier to lay low when the ten thousand Iron Cavalry arrive.

”Yes!”

The small clan leader accepted the orders and left.

Seeing the situation stabilize rapidly, Snake Head nodded in satisfaction.

Then, he returned to the underground base, for he needed to sort out those documents well!

...

The next day.

”King, our people have arrived!”

The small clan leader, slightly excited, whispered to Snake Head in the underground base.

”Oh?!”

Snake Head raised his brow with some excitement: ”Have their identities been confirmed?”

”Already confirmed, without a doubt, the leader is that head called Dawa!” the small clan leader affirmed.

”Very well, please let them in.”

Snake Head closed the dossier, involuntarily breathing a sigh of relief; once the ten thousand Iron Cavalry arrived, his task would nearly be completed.

Quickly, Dawa and Snake Head met face to face.

”Chief Snake Head, you must have worked hard!”

Dawa took a few quick steps forward with a friendly smile and shook hands with Snake Head.

”Chief Dawa, you jest, this is my task, what’s hard about it?!”

Snake Head spoke with a beaming smile.

His goodwill towards the ten thousand Iron Cavalry was very high.

Because he’d never seen disdain in the expressions of these people towards them before; everyone was kind and amiable.

To someone struggling to survive in a great world, that attitude—equality—was the best.

”No need for small talk!” Dawa laughed: ”Give me an overview of the situation, we need to work in full cooperation!”

”Of course, please!”

Snake Head nodded immediately and led Dawa back to the dossier room.

Then, the two began to review and analyze the collected intelligence.

Most of the time, Snake Head spoke while Dawa listened, occasionally raising questions for mutual discussion.

Finally, both parties ended the conversation in satisfaction.

”Chief Snake Head, you truly have worked hard, to venture alone and gather so much useful intelligence in just three days! I truly admire you!” Dawa sincerely said, ”You’ve almost finished my task!”

”Chief Dawa, you flatter me!” Hearing Dawa’s words made Snake Head very happy.

He knew that the ten thousand Iron Cavalry were Lord Lu’s direct troops, and Dawa was quite a core leader among them.

To receive such praise from Dawa ensured that his achievements this time would not be small!

”Just the truth!” Dawa chuckled: ”Our work going forward will still need Chief Snake Head’s cooperation! After all, being able to walk freely underground is a skill we cannot perform!”

”Of course, whenever you need, just say the word, Chief Dawa!” Snake Head immediately promised!

”Alright then, let me share my thoughts, and Chief Snake Head can advise!” Dawa nodded, smiling.

After that, the two engaged in in-depth discussion.

And occasionally they’d point here and there on a suggested map.

Finally, they reached a consensus, with Dawa leading the ten thousand Iron Cavalry scout team to conduct infiltration reconnaissance on the surface, while Snake Head sent his kin to dig connected tunnels underground.

Using underground passages to quickly and secretly relay intelligence for final consolidation.

This would allow the surrounding intelligence to be deeply probed swiftly while ensuring the scouts’ safety to the greatest extent!

...

By the time their planning was complete, it was already late at night.

After representing Lu Xiaobu to offer their regards to Snake Head’s clansmen, they quickly issued tasks, then watched as each small team quickly disappeared into the night.

”Chief Dawa, I have a question I don’t know if I should ask?”

Snake Head smiled and said to Dawa.

”Go ahead, what secrets are there between us at this point?” Dawa laughed: ”In such times away from homeland, we dare not conceal anything!”

”Chief Dawa, don’t take it amiss, it’s not about the mission, just some idle talk.”

Snake Head hastily explained, not wanting Dawa to think he was pressuring him for anything: ”I’m just curious, you call yourselves the ten thousand Iron Cavalry, the name suggests a military presence! Why do you not give off any military vibe?!”

”Hahaha, this matter, well, it’s a long story! Since the long night persists and we’re not sleepy, let me tell you some of our past follies, I wonder if Chief Snake Head is interested?!” Dawa laughed, eyes filled with many memories.

”Certainly!”

Snake Head’s vanity was satisfied again. Hearing these stories meant these people truly didn’t see him and his kin as outsiders!
