Prodigal System in the Flourishing City

Chapter 1021: Chapter 1019: Burning Bridges

Lu Xiaobu had no idea what Lin Feng was thinking, mainly because he was exhausted from his trips to Japan lately and really couldn’t be bothered to play mind games with Lin Feng!

Besides, the invitation was for an event a month away, and it was supposed to be a relaxing gathering.

So, he didn’t know what Lin Feng was up to.

However, just three days later, a piece of news spread across the internet.

”Weibo Company announces the launch of a new chat software—KK, ushering in a new era of chatting.”

Leveraging Weibo’s immense influence in today’s era, KK software quickly became known to the public.

”KK? What’s that!? Is it different from Weibo?!”

”There should be some differences, right? Weibo wouldn’t release another Weibo, would they?!”

”That’s true, just not sure if this thing is any good!”

”Let’s give it a shot! It should be okay!”

”Yeah, after all, Weibo is a well-established social company. Launching new social software, the quality should be assured.”

”I think so too! Whatever, let’s wait and see the next one, it’s free anyway!”

”Right, right, let’s just wait and see.”

”...”

And so, KK started spreading like wildfire.

Since it’s just a chat software without involving any financial security issues, coupled with Weibo’s strong influence in the world, its expansion speed was several times faster than Lu Xiaobu’s Alipay back in the day!

And the feedback from users was overwhelmingly positive.

”Wow, this software is good!”

”Yeah, stripping away all the unnecessary stuff, it’s purely for chatting, really comfortable!”

”Hahaha, great, it’s great! I never cared much for news, I just used Weibo to chat with people, but Weibo chat always had limitations and was annoying, KK perfectly solves my problem!”

”Weibo truly deserves its reputation as an established social company; the release of this software is impressive!”

”Just friends and chatting, casual and comfortable!”

”Hey, my KK number is... who wants to add me?”

”Great, great, it seems like it’s always been Lu Group releasing new products in recent years, finally something different!”

”...”

Lu Xiaobu also downloaded KK software.

”It’s well made.” Lu Xiaobu’s lips curled into a smile. ”Although there are many flaws, for now, it’s enough!

Do you remember? The framework for this chat software was initially provided by Lu Xiaobu at their annual meeting as a transaction condition to the Weibo Company.

After such a long time, Weibo Company finally came up with it.

Of course, as a former earthling, the so-called KK seemed very simple in his eyes.

But you can’t expect too much from others, can you?

”Sister Lan, go talk to the people at Weibo Company about collaboration, Alipay and KK cooperation.”

Lu Xiaobu thought for a moment and said to Liang Lan.

The combination of social and payment software would have a massive impact.

Although Lu Xiaobu wasn’t very interested in making money, this wasn’t just about money, it was about ensuring the happiness of Lu Group’s employees.

He had already given away control over the social domain, he couldn’t just hand over control over payment as well!

After all, UnionPay, with Lin Feng’s support, hadn’t completely died yet!

Who knows when it might come back to bite him?

When that time comes, Lu Group’s employees would have to struggle hard!

”Understood, Young Master.” Liang Lan nodded, indicating she understood.

After arranging this, Lu Xiaobu put the matter aside.

In his view, no matter what, Weibo Company would not refuse him.

...

The KK software was spreading rapidly like wildfire.

In no time, it had spread all over Jiangnan, almost becoming a rival to Weibo.

It was nothing short of a miracle.

The business world was stunned.

”Oh my God! Is it really this terrifying?! Weibo is truly a heavyweight in social networking, when it makes a move, it’s shocking!”

”Yes! After years of hard work, Weibo has become the big boss, the industry generally thinks Weibo is the best social software right now! Yet, this myth is broken, and by themselves, no less!”

”Indeed, in recent years, Lu Xiaobu has been too impressive, finally someone breaks this spell!”

”Yes, yes, I also downloaded a KK, and it’s indeed quite useful!”

”Do you think we can get a piece of the pie?!”

”I’ve thought about it, but the possibility is slim, KK’s quick rise is largely due to Weibo’s influence, it’s unrealistic for us to get a piece of the pie!”

”That’s true! But the problem is clear, KK’s monetization capability is not apparent! Is it going to be like Weibo?! That’s unrealistic!”

”Let’s watch! Maybe they have a good plan!”

”...”

The business community felt that someone finally broke Lu Xiaobu’s spell, little did they know, this so-called break was orchestrated by Lu Xiaobu himself!

KK’s growth continued.

They sought endorsements, held press conferences, launched massive advertising campaigns.

They had only one goal, to achieve a monopoly as quickly as possible.

After all, the huge profits from Lu Xiaobu’s monopoly model in various industries were evident to everyone.

As time passed, there was joy across Weibo Company.

However, someone wasn’t too pleased.

That person was Lu Xiaobu.

”Young Master, Weibo Company doesn’t seem to want to cooperate with us at all!” Liang Lan spoke to Lu Xiaobu with an angry face. ”I’ve already approached them three times, yet they keep making excuses, I haven’t even seen their boss.”

”What?!”

Lu Xiaobu’s expression darkened.

What’s the meaning of this? Burn bridges?!

Is the Lu Group so easy to push around?!

Sister Lan went there personally three times, and didn’t even see their CEO?!

Do they really think I’ve gone soft?!

”Let’s go! I’ll meet him myself!” Lu Xiaobu stood up with a cold smile. ”I can lift you to the heavens or smash you into the mud!”

”Yes!” Liang Lan immediately nodded.

And just then, as they were about to leave, a news item came through.

”Weibo Company announces that KK will collaborate deeply with UnionPay, optimizing everyone’s socializing and payment methods at the same time!”

Upon hearing this, Lu Xiaobu’s face immediately darkened.

Lin Feng, so it was you who made the move!

But that old bastard, you think with Lin Feng backing you, I can’t handle you?!

Same old words, I can lift you to the heavens or smash you into the mud!

Dare to burn bridges with me?! Let’s see how capable you are?!
