Fate-Defying Demon Emperor

A familiar figure flew in from outside the formation—it was none other than the pot-bellied, whiskered Bai Xu Saint.

On the other side, the short and thin Iron Grinding Saint appeared silently. The two of them positioned themselves one in front and one behind, sandwiching Su Han between them.

The appearance of Bai Xu Saint and Iron Grinding Saint did not surprise Su Han. He rose to his feet and looked up, his gaze indifferent.

”I never expected Your Highness to actually retrieve the Soul Severing Sword. Truly, you have opened my eyes. Nourished by Yin Energy and resentment, the sword has indeed ascended to a Holy Artifact. Moreover, by the look of it, Your Highness seems quite adept at wielding it. Congratulations, Your Highness, on finding this treasured sword.”

The Iron Grinding Saint’s gaze fell upon the Soul Severing Sword, the very blade he had coveted day and night.

He had once used this place to nurture the sword, but unexpectedly, the King’s Remnant Soul awoke and took command of a million Underworld soldiers. This caused his several dangerous attempts to end in failure, forcing him to temporarily give up.

Su Han’s emergence, however, made him decide to go with the flow, encouraging Su Han to venture into the Yuelan Ancient Battlefield in search of the Soul Severing Sword.

Initially, he held little hope, only wishing to use the million Underworld soldiers within the Yuelan Ancient Battlefield to drain Su Han’s trump cards, or even trap him there permanently.

But now that Su Han had retrieved the Soul Severing Sword, it astonished him. Geniuses indeed have great destinies. To obtain the Soul Severing Sword in such a perilous environment is truly remarkable.

But this is as far as it goes!

”Does the sword serve Your Highness well? It’s just a pity that Your Highness is not its true master. After all, it has only just emerged and will not follow a short-lived owner!”

The Iron Grinding Saint formed a series of hand seals, casting a spell to activate the mark he had left within the Soul Severing Sword, aiming to reclaim it.

Every Sword Casting Master leaves their own mark within a forged sword to prevent it from turning against its owner or being lost.

At that moment, the Soul Severing Sword trembled slightly, clearly disturbed by the Iron Grinding Saint’s interference, but Su Han channeled the Secret of the Soldier Character, immediately calming the blade.

”Hmm?”

The failure to activate the mark caught the Iron Grinding Saint by surprise, prompting him to give Su Han a deep look.

”It seems Your Highness has more secrets than I anticipated. Well, no matter. Once Your Highness is dead, I can just as easily retrieve the sword from your corpse.”

The Iron Grinding Saint made no attempt to hide his murderous intent, indicating they were resolved to kill Su Han and leave him here for good.

As for the Soul Severing Sword’s ownership, Su Han naturally had no intention of relinquishing it to the Iron Grinding Saint. He paid his foe little attention and instead turned to look at Bai Xu Saint.

”Where is the Crane Sword Saint?”

The Crane Sword Saint was the Nineteenth Prince’s Protector and a Saint Realm expert. Moreover, Su Han had lost contact with him earlier and now wanted to know his fate.

”Your Highness, if we are to deal with you, we naturally cannot have outsiders interfere. Although the Crane Sword Saint is powerful, he stood no chance against our combined surprise attack and was left with no choice but to await his fate. But rest assured, Your Highness, you will soon be able to meet him again in the Underworld!”

The Crane Sword Saint is dead!

Though Su Han had anticipated it, hearing it confirmed from Bai Xu Saint’s mouth still caused his expression to darken.

Regardless of the circumstances, the Crane Sword Saint was his Protector and had already been subjugated by him. A Saint Realm follower was not easily acquired, and losing him was akin to Su Han losing an arm.

It seems they truly went to great lengths to deal with me this time.

”I want to know, was it my Second Brother or Third Brother who sent you?”

Su Han was in no hurry to make a move. He had just endured a great battle, and although he was uninjured, he had consumed a great deal of Demonic Qi. This was a perfect opportunity to recover it.

”Your Highness is indeed extraordinarily astute. But considering you are about to descend to the Underworld, I will be magnanimous and answer your question.”

The smile on Bai Xu Saint’s face remained unchanged, like that of a smiling tiger, making his thoughts inscrutable.

”This time, it marks the first collaboration between the Second Prince and the Third Prince!

”We had no choice. Your Highness is too remarkable, having shocked all of Jiuzhou with a single competition at Mount Hua. Now, with the Sword Dao assembly imminent and Your Highness appearing out of nowhere, this is hardly good news. Therefore, for the sake of the Second and Third Princes’ futures, Your Highness should just resign yourself to death!”

Indeed, my suspicion was correct. I had underestimated their decisiveness and ruthlessness. Li Mingliang had only just warned me, yet their move came so swiftly and secretly, making it impossible to guard against. Those who can remain standing in the struggle between princes are certainly not ordinary individuals.

”I am a prince. If you kill me, are you not afraid of Father Emperor’s thunderous wrath?”

Su Han’s Demonic Qi was nearly fully restored, but he continued to speak to buy more time.

”Your Highness misunderstands us. You are of noble birth, a priceless treasure. How could we dare to harm even a single hair on your head?

”You are to die in the Yuelan Ancient Battlefield, slain by a million Underworld soldiers. We, as your subjects, have always been advising against it, but Your Highness insisted on going your own way. Ultimately, you will fall in the ancient battlefield, and we will have no choice but to report to the Imperial Court and request the dispatch of a large army to avenge Your Highness!”

Bai Xu Saint’s lips curled into a smile. Everything had been meticulously arranged, accounting for all possible situations and contingencies.

He had earnestly advised Su Han before, but Su Han refused to listen and persisted—a fact to which there were witnesses.

Furthermore, the million Underworld soldiers and the Saint Realm King’s Remnant Soul within the Yuelan Ancient Battlefield constituted the physical evidence.

With both witness testimony and physical evidence, not even the Emperor could find any fault, especially since the Second and Third Princes would also work to suppress the matter.

The Emperor cared most about the Heavenly Sword Crown Prince; he paid little attention to the others. This was true even for the Second and Third Princes, let alone the Nineteenth Prince.

As long as everything was blamed on the Yuelan Ancient Battlefield, the evidence would be ironclad.

Of course, there had been one unexpected development—the Nineteenth Prince had not only emerged safely but had also actually retrieved the Soul Severing Sword.

However, they were prepared for this contingency. The Nether Dragon Slaying Prison Formation and the hundred-man squad were deployed just in case, as a prince was wealthy and possessed many trump cards.

But no matter how many unexpected events had occurred, the final outcome would not change, for the two of them were the final guarantee to ensure nothing went wrong.

Two Saint Realm powerhouses against the Nineteenth Prince—a mere Second Layer of the Supreme Realm who had exhausted all his trump cards—was as simple as catching a fish in a barrel.

They had remained hidden only because they were worried that Su Han had not yet used all his trump cards. However, even under the threat of the Nether Dragon Slaying Prison Formation and the hundred-man squad, Su Han hadn’t used any special treasures. This clearly meant his trump cards had all been spent within the Yuelan Ancient Battlefield, leaving them with no further worries.

WHOOSH!

Su Han’s Demonic Qi was completely restored. At this moment, Bai Xu Saint’s eyes lit up as if what he was waiting for was also ready. He grinned at Su Han, his intent to kill crystal clear. ”Your Highness, it’s getting late. You should be on your way now!”
