Outside the Manager’s Court, Butler Wang’s corpse lay sprawled on the ground, and a tense aura filled the air.

This matter could be big or small.

After all, the one who died was just a minor housekeeper; the Lin Family was a vast clan in Netherworld City, they never lacked people to manage their business.

However, behind Butler Wang stood Lin Feng, and his death would undoubtedly bring a lot of trouble.

”You actually dare kill someone within the clan, you’re really turning the heavens over!” A cold, harsh voice suddenly rang out.

The newcomer was young, dressed in a purple robe, with a delicate Jade Pendant hanging at his waist.

The moment he arrived, that group of servants immediately rushed over, wailing like ghosts as they poured out their grievances.

”Young Master Lin Ya, you must stand up for us!”

”Lin Mo went mad, he actually killed Butler Wang!”

”Slaughtering the innocent and targeting people of the clan—this violates the Lin Family rules!”

A few servants snot-nosed and tear-streaked, crying miserably, a sight that made Xu Wendong feel extremely disgusted.

Right at this moment, some new memories surfaced in his mind.

The newcomer was named Lin Ya, one of Lin Feng’s lackeys, a disciple of a collateral branch of the Lin Family.

Back when Lin Feng bullied Lin Mo, Lin Ya had fanned the flames often, and had even once beaten Lin Mo so badly he was bedridden for months.

A sharp light flashed in Xu Wendong’s eyes as he sneered coldly in his heart.

This person was also someone who had to be settled.

Since he’d come, then find a chance to deal with him together.

Xu Wendong was not someone with a good temper like Lin Mo.

He had come to the Netherworld not to swallow his anger, but for the Three-Life Stone.

He needed to seize control of the Lin Family as quickly as possible, use it as a foundation to rapidly expand his power, and have it probe the whereabouts of the Three-Life Stone for him.

”Lin Mo, you’ve committed a monstrous crime, do you admit your mistake?” Lin Ya shouted angrily.

Butler Wang was Lin Feng’s dog, and also his dog.

Every time the younger generation of the Lin Family received their monthly salary, Butler Wang would give him an extra hundred Nether Crystals.

Now that Butler Wang was dead, Lin Ya’s Nether Crystal Source was cut off as well.

”Young Master Lin Ya, my young master didn’t do it on purpose, it was that Butler Wang...” Xiao Die panicked, hurrying forward to argue for Xu Wendong.

But Lin Ya merely cast her a cold look and mocked, ”What does this have to do with you? You’re just a lowly Maid, you think you’re worthy to talk to me?”

Xiao Die was choked speechless.

She was just a Maid, her status in the Lin Family was lowly.

However, because her looks were delicate and moving, quite a few people in the Lin Family had their eyes on her, and Lin Ya was one of them.

”You say I’ve committed a monstrous crime, then I’d like to ask, what crime have I committed?” Xu Wendong remained calm, his gaze like a torch, locking firmly onto Lin Ya.

That gaze was like a fierce tiger eyeing its prey, ready to pounce for a fatal One Strike at any moment.

Sensing Xu Wendong’s eyes, Lin Ya’s heart tightened.

He was somewhat surprised; the former Lin Mo would never dare look at him like this, yet at this moment, he actually felt a faint sense of oppression.

Even so, he forced himself to act composed and said coldly, ”You killed Butler Wang, and that doesn’t count as a grave crime?”

”My Lin Family has clan rules; internal slaughter is strictly forbidden among the clan.”

”You killed someone, and think you can walk away from it?”

After Lin Ya finished, Xu Wendong’s expression remained indifferent; instead, Xiao Die was so frightened she trembled all over.

She feared Xu Wendong would be punished by the clan for this, her heart heavy with guilt.

After all, Xu Wendong had stirred up this trouble in order to stand up for her.

”Is that so? Then let me ask you, in the clan rules, are the servants counted as Lin Family people?” Xu Wendong clasped his hands behind his back, a sharp light flashing in his eyes, a teasing smile on his face.

All those servants were stunned, their expressions confused as they looked toward Lin Ya.

Lin Ya, too, was momentarily stumped by the question.

The Lin Family’s rules were targeted mainly at Lin Family members, strictly banning internal killing.

As for those servants and housekeepers, they were not included. A nation has its laws; a clan has its rules.

But housekeepers and servants were not Lin Family people; they could be replaced at any time.

Let alone Xu Wendong killing Butler Wang today—even if Lin Feng flew into a rage and casually beat and cursed the servants, even killing them, no one in the Lin Family would punish him.

”You... you’re just quibbling!” Lin Ya’s face turned livid with fury; he hadn’t expected Xu Wendong to pick out this loophole.

Butler Wang was merely Lin Feng’s dog, and in the end just a lowly slave. His life wasn’t worth anything!

”You all say, is he quibbling or not?” Lin Ya turned and shouted at the few servants.

Those servants snuck a glance at Xu Wendong and saw him staring at them coldly, and were so frightened they didn’t dare utter a sound.

He dared kill even Butler Wang; wouldn’t killing a few of them be as easy as lifting a hand?

No matter what, Xu Wendong was a Lin Family member; killing a few lowly slaves wouldn’t cause him any trouble at all.

”Whether it’s quibbling or not, you don’t have the brains to tell?” Xu Wendong let out a cold laugh and sneered, ”You have to ask others about everything—are you mentally deficient or just useless?”

Hearing this, Xiao Die couldn’t help but let out a soft ”puchi” of laughter.

She hadn’t expected the current Xu Wendong to be so sharp-tongued.

These words left Lin Ya at a loss for words, his face flushing red. He shook with rage all over, yet couldn’t squeeze out a single retort.

”You’re courting death!” After holding it in for so long, Lin Ya finally roared, clenching his fist and smashing it viciously toward Xu Wendong.

This was his usual style—if he couldn’t win with words, he’d use his fists.

Back then, he had ”greeted” Lin Mo with his fists plenty of times.

He still thought the man before him was the same weak and easily bullied Lin Mo.

”The Lin Family forbids internal slaughter, and you actually strike first.”

”Then don’t blame me.” Xu Wendong sneered; facing this punch, he wasn’t flustered in the slightest. With a slight turn of his body, he easily dodged it.

Lin Ya possessed the strength of the Eighth Layer of the Soul Condensing Realm; by absorbing the Netherworld’s Yin Energy to temper his Soul, he was already close to Perfection and would soon step into the Soul Transformation Realm.

That level of strength ranked mid-to-upper among the younger generation of the Lin Family.

”What?” Lin Ya was stunned; his punch had actually been dodged? The old Lin Mo never had this kind of reaction speed.

”You’re too weak.” Xu Wendong said with contempt, casually throwing a punch straight at Lin Ya’s abdomen.

His fist was wrapped in dense Soul Power and Yin Energy, and with a ”bang,” Lin Ya’s expression changed drastically.

”Argh!” Lin Ya let out a miserable scream, staggering back again and again.

Seeing this scene, the few servants all stared wide-eyed.

”This doesn’t seem right?”

”Young Master Lin Ya used to be able to teach Lin Mo a lesson whenever he wanted; what’s going on today...”

”Young Master Lin Ya actually lost?”

Xiao Die’s delicate hand covered her lips, her beautiful eyes filled with disbelief.

She looked at Xu Wendong’s back, and felt he was even more towering and extraordinary.

The mighty aura emanating from Xu Wendong made her heart skip uncontrollably.

”Young master is truly mighty!”

Lin Ya staggered back repeatedly, then lifted his head with difficulty and snarled through gritted teeth, ”What move was that?”

”Dog Beating Fist.” Xu Wendong chuckled and strode forward.

”D-Dog Beating Fist?” Lin Ya’s face went deathly pale; this was clearly calling him a dog.

Driven to fury, Lin Ya suddenly gathered a wisp of ghostly blue flame in his palm.

This was soul magic that could be used at the Soul Condensing Realm—Netherworld Fire, driven by Soul Power, with no small amount of power.

”Netherworld Fire, go!”

That ghostly blue flame shot toward him in a flash; Xu Wendong raised his brows slightly.

In his memories, this soul magic was one of the Lin Family’s signature Magic, not something just anyone was qualified to learn.

However, why would Xu Wendong fear that Netherworld Fire?
