Zhan Shen: It’s Just a Sacrifice, How Can I Become a Villain?

446: A real man never looks backMemorial’s face changed. “Oh no, the Minotaur is here! Song Zhong, you wouldn’t really leave me here, would you?”

However, Memorial’s question went unanswered.

The Minotaur’s footsteps grew closer and closer. Memorial hurriedly looked back and saw that Song Zhong had already run to a fork in the path, ready to enter it.

“Song Zhong, you bastard! Without me, you’ll never find the end of the maze…”

A sharp voice echoed through the maze. Song Zhong merely raised his hand and waved, not even turning his head, before disappearing into the fork.

Watching Song Zhong leave without a backward glance, Memorial felt like her lungs were about to explode from anger.

However, she had no time to deal with Song Zhong now, because the bull-headed Minotaur had already crashed through the buildings in the maze and was charging towards Memorial.

Those damaged buildings, under the effect of the Divine Artifact, reassembled into their original form, completely unaffected by the Minotaur.

Memorial’s expression began to turn serious. She reached out and took off the accursed pocket watch, tossing it aside.

But the Minotaur paid no attention, simply staring intently at Memorial.

Discarding the pocket watch, which had lost its Divine Power, did not change the Minotaur’s target of attack.

“Intruder… Kronos… Kill… Kill them all…”

The Minotaur’s eyes were bloodshot. From its broken sentences, it seemed the monster’s sanity was affected.

However, it was understandable; gaining a significant boost in power usually came with a sacrifice of some sanity.

Seeing that throwing away the pocket watch had no effect, Memorial immediately fled towards a fork in the maze.

Upon seeing its prey escaping, the Minotaur’s eyes practically blazed with fire.

It slammed its fists heavily on the ground. The entire ground, before the Minotaur’s immense strength, shattered like fragile glass.

The buildings in the maze immediately toppled over, crashing down towards Memorial.

Memorial remained unhurried. Several large pixel shields appeared around her, blocking the collapsing buildings.

“Roar!”

The Minotaur roared skyward, pushing off with its feet, and charged towards Memorial.

This monster was incredibly fast. Memorial knew she was much slower than it, so she began weaving through various forks in the maze.

Although Memorial couldn’t match the Minotaur’s speed, she excelled in agility. By darting back and forth, she managed to create distance from the Minotaur.

The Minotaur rampaged through the maze, its bull horns like two sharp blades, wantonly destroying everything in its path.

…

Compared to Memorial, Song Zhong was much more at ease. As he walked through the maze, he found that it was roughly similar to a city.

The only difference was that every building was interconnected, forming continuous city walls.

These city walls seemed to be arranged in a random order, with intricate alleys and streets extending from within, ultimately forming this maze.

Furthermore, the area here was simply too vast. Without special methods, even walking for a year inside might not lead to finding the right direction.

Song Zhong looked around, and then countless green light spots emanated from his body.

Those light spots, like Firefly, quickly covered the surrounding streets.

Song Zhong lightly snapped his fingers, and with a boom, those light spots exploded simultaneously, directly leveling the surrounding buildings.

Strangely, however, the explosion did not cause dust. The shattered buildings lay scattered on the ground.

“Destroying them doesn’t take much effort,” Song Zhong looked around, and suddenly, he noticed that the shattered building debris began to float.

These building debris seemed to have a life of their own, beginning to reassemble and piece together. In less than a minute, the surroundings had returned to their original appearance, as if the explosion had never occurred.

“Oh? It seems Memorial didn’t lie to me. This maze’s recovery ability is indeed a bit troublesome.”

Song Zhong frowned, thinking as he continued to delve deeper.

It seemed that violent destruction wouldn’t work. So how could he find the correct route from here?

Looking at the dome above the maze, Song Zhong knew that searching for a route from the air would clearly not work.

Suddenly, Song Zhong stopped. He had discovered a good way to find the end of the maze.

Song Zhong raised his left foot and lightly tapped the ground.

Suddenly, the entire Minotaur maze instantly shook.

Large amounts of seawater began to seep from the cracks in the stone bricks on the ground.

The seawater became more and more abundant; in some places, the floor tiles were even pushed open directly by the seawater. For a moment, the entire maze was like a leaking ship, with large amounts of seawater pouring in through the holes.

Just now, Song Zhong had activated Overturning Boat.

This was the method he thought of: letting seawater flood into the maze. No matter how complex this maze was, it could not stop the flow of water.

And as the controller, Song Zhong, as long as he sensed the direction of the water flow, he would be able to follow it to find the end of the maze.

And the island of Crete was located in the ocean, so summoning water flow was incredibly convenient.

Gurgle, gurgle!

On the ground, more and more water began to gather. Soon, these water currents began to flow towards the surrounding forks.

Song Zhong floated on the surface of the water, letting himself be carried by the currents. Now he only needed to leisurely follow the direction of the water flow.

Being able to sense the state of the water flow, Song Zhong had no need to worry about entering a dead end.

This was equivalent to having countless scouts helping Song Zhong avoid wrong routes.

Suddenly, Song Zhong’s eyes lit up. By sensing the state of the water flow, he found the correct route to the central end of this maze.

Because he detected the aura of a god, and even through the water flow perception, Song Zhong had already clearly seen the appearance of that god.

It was a female god with a head of beautiful black hair, which was actually composed of black venomous snakes.

These venomous snakes vigilantly watched the seawater appearing in the maze, their eyes filled with confusion and bewilderment.

The characteristics of this god were too obvious. Even if Song Zhong had never seen her with his own eyes, just from that head full of snake hair, he could determine her identity.

The Curse God of Olympus, Medusa.

He had heard rumors before that Medusa was very jealous of Athena, the Goddess of War. If that was truly the case, then Zeus’s arrangement for her to guard Athena and Human Realm was reasonable.

The corners of Song Zhong’s mouth curved slightly. He and this Curse God still had some connection.

Back then, the Snake Girl, this god’s agent, was turned into a zombie by him.

He never expected that after becoming a god, he would still have dealings with this god. Fate, indeed, was truly marvelous.

Thinking of this, the speed of the water flow beneath Song Zhong’s feet quickened a bit. He was already impatient to meet this old acquaintance again.
