Zhan Shen: It’s Just a Sacrifice, How Can I Become a Villain?

420: The story behind the Black KingCao Yuan followed the Queen Mother of the West into the Sword Tomb.

A wave of heat assailed him, and Cao Yuan looked closely, discovering that inside the Sword Tomb, there was a gigantic furnace.

The furnace was chained to the stone wall by four iron chains, and below it was a large expanse of lava.

The stone walls inside the cave were also embedded with countless weapons.

The Queen Mother of the West said to Cao Yuan, ”Choose a weapon that suits you.”

A tremor ran through Cao Yuan’s heart, and a surge of wild emotion uncontrollably welled up from within him.

He recalled the first time he held a blade in that village all those years ago…

The painful memories stimulated Cao Yuan’s nerves, and a trace of pain appeared on his face.

Seeing Cao Yuan’s expression, the Queen Mother of the West casually sent a Divine Power into his Physical Body.

The wildness within him was gradually suppressed by the Divine Power, and Cao Yuan exhaled deeply.

He bowed to the Queen Mother of the West and said, ”Thank you, Lady, for your assistance!”

The Queen Mother of the West nodded slightly and said, ”My Divine Power is a temporary solution, it can only temporarily suppress the Black King’s ferocity.

To truly master this power, you still have to rely on yourself.”

”Please, Lady, guide Cao Yuan!”

Cao Yuan knew very well that the Queen Mother of the West must have a solution, and no matter the cost, he had to try.

Otherwise, if this ticking time bomb were to explode, the consequences would be unimaginable.

The Queen Mother of the West nodded slightly and asked, ”Cao Yuan, do you understand the Black King’s power?”

Hearing the Queen Mother of the West’s question, Cao Yuan shook his head in confusion; he knew that ever since he could remember, this terrifying power had been contained within his Physical Body.

Even his master had only told him to be pure of heart and to resist the destructive power within him.

But no one had ever mentioned the origin of the Black King’s Annihilation to him.

Cao Yuan honestly shook his head; to be frank, he was also curious about the source of this power.

The Queen Mother of the West sighed and said, ”Actually, the Black King was once a human, a human who failed to Breakthrough to the Supreme God Realm.”

Cao Yuan’s eyes widened like copper bells. What? The Black King within his Physical Body was actually a human who failed to become a god?

This news was simply too explosive; Cao Yuan couldn’t react for a moment.

”Lady, you’re not teasing me, are you? Doesn’t that mean that a human Soul is imprisoned within my Physical Body?”

The Queen Mother of the West shook her head, ”Yes, and no! The Black King within your Physical Body is just a mass of energy acting on instinct; his Soul went completely mad after failing to Breakthrough to the Supreme God Realm.

Strictly speaking, the Black King imprisoned within your Physical Body is just a berserk mass of energy.

However, this energy is very special; as long as there is a host with a special fate, they can bear this power.

Theoretically, as long as one of the hosts successfully subdues this power, they can possess combat power comparable to a Supreme God.”

Cao Yuan’s thoughts raced, digesting the Queen Mother of the West’s words.

”Lady, who exactly is the Black King, to have done something as incredible as attempting to Breakthrough to the Supreme God Realm?”

Cao Yuan was truly curious; it was common knowledge that Mortals could not break through their shackles and Breakthrough to the God Realm.

”His name is Gongyang Zhuo.”

”Gongyang Zhuo?” Cao Yuan memorized the name in his mind, but suddenly it sounded familiar; the surname Gongyang was not common, but he seemed to have heard it somewhere before.

Wait!

Cao Yuan suddenly remembered that the predecessor of the Night Watcher, the second director of the Demon Suppressing Division, and a current member of the Heroic Spirit Squad, had a compound surname of Gongyang.

”Lady, what is the relationship between this Gongyang Zhuo and Gongyang Wan?” Cao Yuan’s heart was truly curious, and he asked impatiently.

”You thought of it, didn’t you?” The Queen Mother of the West smiled slightly, ”This Gongyang Zhuo is Gongyang Wan’s younger brother.”

As expected!

Cao Yuan couldn’t help but sigh in his heart; these two were indeed siblings, and each of them was extraordinary.

”Lady, you just said that Gongyang Zhuo was trying to Breakthrough to the Supreme God Realm back then, so doesn’t that mean he had already broken through to the God Realm before that?”

”Yes, he did Breakthrough to the God Realm,” the Queen Mother of the West replied.

”But aren’t Mortals unable to become gods? How did he solve the crisis of Dao transformation? And even accumulate power to Breakthrough to the Supreme God Realm?”

Cao Yuan blurted out all the questions in his heart.

According to the Queen Mother of the West, this Gongyang Zhuo had actually broken through to the God Realm as a Mortal; how exactly did he do it? It was simply too incredible.

Hearing Cao Yuan’s questions, a trace of disgust flashed across the Queen Mother of the West’s face, but the emotion was fleeting, and Cao Yuan did not notice it.

She slowly opened her mouth and said, ”Because, in essence, Gongyang Zhuo cannot be considered a human.”

”Huh?” A big question mark appeared above Cao Yuan’s head.

What did that mean? Gongyang Zhuo wasn’t human? Wasn’t he Gongyang Wan’s younger brother? Gongyang Wan was a complete human!

After becoming a Reserve Squad member, Cao Yuan’s authority was also quite high, and he had some understanding of that period of Han Dynasty history.

”That’s right, Gongyang Zhuo died once, but he was brought back to life. It’s just that the method of bringing him back to life was a bit unconventional.”

The Queen Mother of the West continued, ”In the history of the Han Dynasty, there was once an invasion by the Cthulhu evil gods…”

At this point, the Queen Mother of the West seemed to recall some painful memory.

Cao Yuan frowned tightly and whispered, ”I once saw records of that event in the Night Watcher’s historical archives.

That disturbance seemed to have been instigated by a Cthulhu monster named Kusun.”

The Queen Mother of the West looked at Cao Yuan with some surprise; she hadn’t expected him to know this history as well.

”Since you know this history, you must also have some understanding of Gongyang Wan’s abilities, right?

Gongyang Zhuo met with misfortune very early on, but Gongyang Wan, out of deep love for her brother, in order to win him a chance at life, swallowed him before he died, trapping Gongyang Zhuo’s Soul within her Physical Body.

And this disturbance caused by the Cthulhu evil gods allowed Gongyang Wan to see an opportunity to resurrect her brother.”

Cao Yuan was completely engrossed; he hadn’t expected the story behind the Black King to be so convoluted and complex.

The Queen Mother of the West continued, ”Ultimately, the people resisted the Cthulhu evil gods’ attack, and Kusun was killed by Huo Qubing.

Finally, Huo Qubing gave Kusun’s heart to Gongyang Wan.

And Gongyang Zhuo’s Physical Body after his resurrection was made from this heart.”

Cao Yuan’s emotions were a bit agitated, and he asked tremblingly:

”So… Gongyang Zhuo’s Physical Body… isn’t it a Cthulhu monster?”

This fact was somewhat difficult for Cao Yuan to accept; if it were truly like this, wouldn’t he also be entangled with the Cthulhu evil gods?
