Rebirth before Apocalypse: My Whole Family are Bigshots!

The difficult actions and the scent of blood and flesh lingering at his nose made the male zombie struggle to suppress his instincts.

A suppressed low growl continuously emanated from his throat, his vacant eyes occasionally glancing towards Bai Xiqin’s location.

His body mechanically completed the actions commanded by Bai Xiqin, little by little.

A string was continuously taut, ready to snap at any moment.

In order to allow Bai Xiqin a better control over zombies, Xiao Lan Zombie learned to use brainwaves to command other zombies, concentrating his own brainwaves to the extreme.

The aura from his body was also not spread out.

Cre-eak cre-eak...

As the male zombie’s knees gradually bent, the creaking sound arose from his body again.

Accompanied by the sound of bone fragments colliding.

He felt no pain from any of this; the only thing he cared about was Bai Xiqin’s brainwave acting on his mind, and the intense scent of blood and flesh.

After five minutes had passed, the male zombie finally trembled and crouched down on the ground.

His upper body twisted grotesquely, arms hanging naturally down to the ground, drooping in an extremely uncomfortable posture.

Tasks that normal people could complete in seconds were attempted multiple times by this ordinary zombie, at the cost of breaking several bones, to finally accomplish the crouch.

”Roar—”

The male zombie raised his head high, revealing his black teeth and drooling black saliva.

Bai Xiqin felt the brainwave in this zombie’s mind carried an intensely bloodthirsty emotion.

Unlike the original Xiao Lan Zombie, this zombie didn’t listen to her brainwaves, merely completing her commands purely.

Bai Xiqin tentatively tried to communicate with it.

But received no response.

Instead, as Bai Xiqin communicated, her suppressive power weakened, the male zombie stood up abruptly.

Without hesitation, he lunged at Bai Xiqin.

A zombie is just a zombie.

They may comply with powerful brainwave commands, yet they still need to devour flesh and blood.

The scent of blood and flesh on Bai Xiqin and Leng Yebai was overwhelmingly intense, even a Zombie King with immense self-control might not endure.

Accompanied by the zombie’s roar, the sound of fingernails piercing flesh was heard.

With a squelch, the roar abruptly stopped.

Pale, slender fingers stabbed straight into the ordinary zombie’s temple, effortlessly extracting them, leaving a sparkling, translucent crystal core in the palm.

With a thud, the male zombie’s decayed body fell straight to the ground, no longer moving.

Xiao Lan Zombie glanced at the crystal core in his hand, still stained with black blood, his eyes devoid of any emotion.

Energy swirled around his hand smeared in black blood, and the crystalline core instantly turned to powder.

A gust of wind blew, leaving behind nothing but black blood.

”Next time, try to find some high-rank zombies, ones that can be controlled, maybe then we can control the zombie horde!”

Xiao Lan Zombie lightly patted his hand, feeling no emotional ups and downs regarding his actions of harming a fellow kind.

Zombies are largely cold-hearted, feeling nothing but the urge to devour flesh.

Among billions, there might be soft-hearted zombies, showing compassion for their companions.

But those are merely singular instances.

The few zombies couldn’t impact all, a single person couldn’t move the sea.

From the moment of the zombie’s inception, their future was destined.

No matter how the species develops, the weak reproductive ability couldn’t sustain perpetual proliferation.

It might extend the zombies’ survival time, but couldn’t ensure their everlasting existence.

As long as humanity remains, after enduring a period of utmost darkness, when the last decaying corpse concludes, a new dawn will emerge.

Bai Xiqin looked at Xiao Lan Zombie’s clapping gesture, slightly dazed, suddenly feeling rather uncomfortable.

After her rebirth, she abhorred zombies, felt no psychological burden in slaughtering ordinary zombies for crystal cores, and till now, she felt the same.

However, now seeing Xiao Lan Zombie behaving similarly, she somewhat wished to change this situation.

Can zombies really not turn back into humans?

If zombies could become human, the slaughter in this world would reduce greatly...

”Xiao Niu Niu, what’s wrong?”

Xiao Lan Zombie saw Bai Xiqin not answering him, reached out to pat Bai Xiqin’s shoulder.

Suddenly noticed his fingers still stained with black blood, thus hesitated, merely waved his hand in front of Bai Xiqin.

”Nothing much, Mr. Zhong has already extracted the zombie virus antibody, maybe they can quickly develop a cure for the zombie virus, if they can restore... you all back to normal, that would be good.” Bai Xiqin said.

Hearing Bai Xiqin’s words, Xiao Lan Zombie showed no particular excitement.

As if what he heard barely concerned him.

”If they develop it, then they develop it! Whether being human or zombie is the same.”

Xiao Lan Zombie’s eyes went vacant for a moment, recalling his time as a human, fingers placed on the chest, voice remaining calm,

”I remember being human was quite hard, here was painful. Later, after becoming a zombie, I no longer felt that way. Just became quite unattractive, now, absorbing crystal cores well can make me as good-looking as before, seems pretty good.”

Teenage love is heartbreaking, suffocating, eyes filled with the warm, sunny-looking boy.

No interest in tea, no desire for food.

Later, when the apocalypse broke out, she was running around for survival daily, worried about family getting infected by the zombie virus, concerned for humanity’s future.

Now, Xiao Lan Zombie’s obsession was gone, seeing Zhang Yiming had no further thoughts, only a new ”obsession” was born.

—If only Zhang Yiming were gone, she could immediately inherit his throne.

Nothing else, no other thoughts.

The feeling of heartache was indeed tough, she even thought it was quite alright this way.

Bai Xiqin looked at Xiao Lan Zombie’s face devoid of emotional fluctuations, briefly silent.

For zombies, is restoring memory to become human a blessing, or a curse?

The human body, could it bear the memories of being a zombie?

They will remember their zombie memories.

They’ve literally swallowed their close family and friends, ripping the flesh piece by piece in their despairing eyes, without a shred of compassion.

Those severely injured zombies, bodies hollowed, were still moving, if transformed into human bodies, they would instantly die.

Those who survived would suffer the anguish of losing loved ones; the nightmare of devouring flesh would haunt their entire lives.

Unshakeable.

Just thinking about it, Bai Xiqin herself felt somewhat unable to endure.

The vast majority of zombies have devoured flesh, the psychic shock to them is likely less than reverting to human, making them continue living mindlessly.

Until some righteous Superpower User comes to extract their brain crystal core, bringing them relief.

”Let’s talk about the future in the future! Maybe they won’t develop a cure to transform you back to humans!”

Bai Xiqin sighed, looking at Xiao Lan Zombie, her eyes filled with sympathy.

Let nature take its course!

Currently, there’s no way to transform zombies into humans.

To change zombies into humans is liberation for humans; they will no longer live in constant fear of being chased by zombies.

For those changing from zombies into humans, isn’t it also a cruelty to them?
