Rebirth before Apocalypse: My Whole Family are Bigshots!

”What?”

The Base Commander thought he had misheard.

Zhang Gong Captain’s strength cannot be simply described as powerful.

But the Base Commander was certain that the two people in front of him were definitely not as impressive as Captain Zhang.

In a way, the first head of the Human Survivor Alliance represented hope for humanity.

He founded the Human Survivor Alliance, uniting high rank superpower users across the globe, and other nations willingly accepted him as the head.

How could someone with this kind of power just perish like that?

”The impact of this incident has been too great, so it’s never been announced publicly.”

Xiao Li sighed lightly and said,

”Captain Fang will handle Alliance matters moving forward, and only then will it be announced at the right opportunity.”

”South Sea is so far away, how can you be certain that Captain Zhang definitely won’t be coming back?”

Bai Xiqin was somewhat skeptical of their words.

With current underdeveloped transportation, nobody knows what’s happening in South Sea, and it takes ages to convey messages back and forth!

Moreover, the places Captain Zhang visited were not ones ordinary people could go to. How could anyone confirm the cause of Captain Zhang’s death?

”Captain Zhang went offshore and hasn’t returned for a long time. The superpower users who went to meet Captain Zhang found only his glasses, along with blood everywhere, so the outlook is pretty dismal.”

At this moment, Fang Jin suddenly spoke.

His voice sounded somewhat sorrowful.

But Bai Xiqin could see the glimmer in his eyes.

He wasn’t saddened by Captain Zhang’s passing; he just wanted to become the head of the Human Survivor Alliance.

”It’s best not to jump to conclusions so easily. What if Captain Zhang returns tomorrow!”

The Base Commander couldn’t stand Fang Jin’s smug demeanor and didn’t believe Captain Zhang was dead either.

”Indeed, we can’t easily jump to conclusions, however, the Human Survivor Alliance currently lacks leadership, so I can only take over for now. Should Captain Zhang return, he’d naturally remain the captain.”

Fang Jin smiled faintly as he spoke, displaying no discernible expression.

But Bai Xiqin felt that his breathing had become much heavier.

”So, has Secretary Fang sought me out for something important this time?”

The Base Commander deliberately emphasized the words ”Secretary Fang.”

Fang Jin’s expression slightly stiffened, and he touched his badge without responding.

Xiao Li stood up and locked the door from the inside before smiling and speaking with the Base Commander.

”It’s regarding the Zombie Emperor. I’m not sure if the Base Commander has heard any news about the Zombie Emperor.”

”No, I’ve never heard of it.”

The Base Commander shook his head.

Sure, the Zombie Emperor has come to his base several times, and you ask if he has heard of it!

”High Rank Zombies command Low Rank Zombies. Zombies have already become a special tribe. In this tribe, where subordinates absolutely obey their superiors, an Emperor is bound to emerge!”

”Just like ants have an Ant Queen, bees have a Queen Bee.”

”And this Emperor decides the rise and fall of zombies. If that Emperor is eradicated, even if a new one is born, it will take some time. During this period, it’s the best opportunity to eliminate zombies.”

Xiao Li spoke with extreme excitement.

He seemed to already envision himself and Captain Fang saving the world.

By then, all humanity will regard them as heroes for mankind.

Because of their existence, humans would regain a peaceful life.

”Why must we eradicate zombies completely? Putting aside whether we have that capability, didn’t the broadcasts say that a zombie virus cure is almost developed?”

The Base Commander frowned slightly upon hearing Xiao Li’s impassioned speech.

There’s a difference between imagination and wishful thinking.

The source of the zombie virus doesn’t only lie in zombies, but also zombie animals, and even some plants contain the zombie virus.

With a global population of billions, only a small portion survived, and the vast majority of the remaining humans have turned into zombies.

Zombies of marine life are absolutely impossible to eradicate.

Attempting to completely eliminate zombies is an immense challenge.

The aggressive zombie virus needs just a small wound to turn a person into a zombie.

Among zombies, besides High Rank Zombies, there are zombies similar to humans, like the Zombie King. Compared to the zombie hordes, human survivor resources are limited.

”That’s merely to comfort people. The development of a zombie cure is incredibly challenging. Even now, no widespread antibody has been created. Even if a cure were to be developed, it wouldn’t be possible to inject zombies one by one.”

Xiao Li waved his hand indifferently,

”We’re now without any retreat. Zombies must be eradicated to restore normal peace. Even if the cure is developed, it’s meant to reassure human survivors, giving them the courage to face zombies!”

”So, what’s the current plan?”

The Base Commander’s expression remained unchanged, but he had already guessed their intent internally.

Those two indeed have strong superpowers, but compared to the Zombie Emperor, the Base Commander couldn’t say who was stronger.

But the Base Commander knew that, currently, the Zombie Emperor had goodwill towards humans.

If this Zombie Emperor were killed, the newly emerged Emperor wouldn’t necessarily be someone who sympathizes with humans.

The Base Commander was also sure that even if they killed the Zombie Emperor, the endless swarms of zombies couldn’t be exterminated...

It would just be a waste of manpower and resources, sending superpower users to bolster the zombie ranks!

These two felt their strength was formidable, thus assuming they could control the situation following the Zombie Emperor’s frenzied aftermath.

If they could think of this plan, Zhang Gong certainly could too.

Everyone knows the principle of capturing the leader first.

If Zhang Gong didn’t dare to do it, were their minds muddled?

Or... do they have guaranteed confidence in their victory?

What is it that they rely on?

”Captain Fang found that the Zombie Emperor, known as Zhang Yiming, is active in this vicinity. We came here this time to find him.”

Xiao Li lowered his voice.

Bai Xiqin and Leng Yebai exchanged glances, seeing surprise in each other’s eyes.

The Human Survivor Alliance is in A City, yet here they are in Shanghai, where Zhang Yiming keeps a low profile. How did they discover him?

”How do you know the Zombie Emperor is here? Even I don’t know!”

The Base Commander’s face showed astonishment.

”Don’t worry, Base Commander, we certainly have our sources.”

Xiao Li hastily reassured the Base Commander upon seeing his shock, a trace of pride in his eyes.

”The Zombie Emperor’s strength must be formidable. Even if the location is confirmed, eradicating him won’t be easy...” said the Base Commander.

The Zombie Emperor’s strength isn’t limited to his own superpowers but also the abundant zombie hordes.

He can effortlessly create zombie tides.

Even if these two can defeat the Zombie Emperor, the Base Commander still has reservations about them.

”Rest assured, we have guaranteed confidence in our victory!”

Fang Jin spoke with determination, emphasizing each word, appearing infinitely righteous.

Speaking with conviction.

But the Base Commander still felt it was unlikely.

The Zombie Emperor must not be killed.

At least not now when zombies are far stronger than human survivors; he must not be killed.

”Is your purpose in seeking me out to have me join you against the Zombie Emperor?”

The Base Commander shook his empty left arm, implying he was willing but unable.

”You are the Base Commander here and also the vice captain of the Human Survivor Alliance. We need your coordination with other superpower users here for assistance. You don’t need to tackle the Zombie Emperor; just handle his subordinates when the time comes.”

Xiao Li smiled confidently,

”This time, we have absolute certainty of success. Once we know his general location, victory will be ours!”
