Rebirth before Apocalypse: My Whole Family are Bigshots!

”Sis, do you think there’s a possibility that instead of exhausting myself by training my body, I could just absorb crystal cores to strengthen myself instantly?”

Bai Yifan looked at the rope in his hand, feeling like something was off.

The fatigue was secondary; pulling the cart wasn’t a problem.

But it always reminded him of the image of a husky pulling a sled.

He thought he should make a rational argument about this.

Otherwise, he’d turn into one of those things!

”Both methods work. It’s a two-pronged approach. Putting in more effort can definitely make you a big shot faster and will also help train your speed and strength,” Bai Xiqin replied.

”But...”

Bai Yifan glanced at Bai Xiqin and shook the rope.

No matter how he looked at it, he felt like one of those things!

”Have you heard of Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin?” Bai Xiqin said calmly, ”Stop thinking about random nonsense. This training method is elevating your standards!”

Bai Yifan: ...

Being able to say so many consoling things about pulling a sled, only his sister could do that.

However... if he was a dragon, doesn’t that mean his sister and Leng Yebai were the coffin?

Thinking about it this way, Bai Yifan felt he could accept it.

”Get ready, let’s go!”

There was no destination, Bai Yifan grabbed the rope and ran forward.

The snow was solidified by Bai Xiqin, it could completely bear the weight of several people, allowing them to walk on it and train Bai Xiqin’s Superpower.

The friction between plastic and snow was minimal, so Bai Yifan didn’t use much force, it was just that the pulling posture didn’t look good.

”Sis, why is it so quiet? There are no zombies or mutant animals!”

Bai Yifan stared at the endless ice and snow ahead, a bit stunned.

Normally, zombies should be wandering aimlessly, but after covering so much distance, how come he hasn’t encountered a single little cutie?

”Look beneath your feet!”

Bai Xiqin reminded.

Upon hearing his sister say that, Bai Yifan looked down as he ran.

Initially, all he saw was ice and snow, unable to see what was beneath his feet.

But later, Bai Xiqin moved the ice and snow aside to let Bai Yifan see what was under the snow.

Beneath the transparent ice layer lay little cuties on the ground.

Their rotting eyeballs were fixed on the surface, bodies subtly moving within the ice, ready to break through at any moment.

Even with thin air amidst the snow, lying on the ground could easily freeze them, and they remain as they were before.

As long as their brains are unharmed, even if only a head remains, they can still bite in the direction of flesh...

”Oh my gosh!”

Bai Yifan jumped in fright, suddenly recalling what Hong Yu had said before leaving.

However, he hadn’t thought these little cuties were so good at finding places!

”There are fewer zombies, but mutant animals are not any less, they’re even more rampant than before.”

Bai Xiqin looked at the distant forest covered in snow, her voice ethereal.

Like zombies, mutant animals won’t generally restrain their instincts; they only know to devour flesh.

Without snowfall, various small animals can satisfy the craving for flesh by mutant animals.

Once the snow falls, forget about animals, even human survivors choose not to leave the safety base to scavenge for supplies.

At this time, it’s easy for mutant animals to attack human safety bases.

”Sis, aren’t we going to train by hunting mutant animals?”

Recalling the scenes of zombie dog packs attacking Yunhua Safety Base, Bai Yifan felt uneasy.

He’s not the Base Commander, at most he could throw a handful of sand, there’s no way he could deal with a pack of zombie dogs.

”No,” Bai Xiqin gave Bai Yifan a straightforward answer.

Mutant animals are typically social, sending Bai Yifan would at best be a meal for them, it really wouldn’t be wise.

Besides, Bai Yifan doesn’t have much meat, not enough to even fill their teeth gaps.

”Then how are we supposed to train?”

Bai Yifan was puzzled.

With fewer zombies and no fighting mutant animals, there’s not much to grind against.

”Train your strength and speed.” Bai Xiqin was dead serious.

Bai Yifan: ...

Turns out they were just out playing in the snow!

Bai Yifan looked at the sky speechlessly, a faint golden glow emanating from his body, his Gold Ability frantically coursing within him.

His speed increased rapidly.

Bai Yifan dragged Bai Xiqin and Leng Yebai, sprinting through the endless snow.

Occasionally, he spotted a few Ice Ability Users out collecting supplies.

But their speed was slow, cautiously walking, sometimes even zombies emerged from the ice layers they created.

Bai Yifan was never worried about this because his sister was always reliable when she took action.

After running for an hour, sweat started to bead on Bai Yifan’s forehead, the golden glow on his body beginning to fade.

His Superpower was nearly exhausted to the limit.

”Shall we take a break?”

Bai Yifan panted heavily, stopping.

”Sure.”

Bai Xiqin reached into her down jacket pocket, actually pulling out a chunk of chocolate from the space to hand to Bai Yifan.

”Sis is the best!”

Seeing the milk-flavored chocolate, he forgot all about his sister making him play the husky role.

”Eat more, if it’s not enough, there’s more here,”

Bai Xiqin patted Bai Yifan’s shoulder.

Eat more, otherwise who will drag them back!

Bai Yifan leisurely ate the chocolate, casually taking out a mobile phone from his pocket.

The phone was taken from the warehouse in the space, a nostalgically retro model, even allowing the antenna to be pulled out from a hidden slot.

This one could receive broadcast frequencies.

The previous phone was given to Zhang Yiming.

”Zzz zz zzz...”

”... Heavy snowfalls have been reported recently across many regions, please be mindful of warmth and beware of zombies among the snow...”

”The Human Survivor Alliance’s commanding officer, Zhang Gong, has already found clues in South Sea related to the formation of the apocalypse, promising to develop a cure for the zombie virus...”

”Now calling all survivors to unite. Soon, everything will return to normal.”

The voice from the phone was powerful and even held a trace of excitement.

It made people feel that tomorrow they would emerge from the apocalypse, welcoming a new era.

”Sis, can the antidote really be developed so quickly?”

Bai Yifan blinked, his eyes also gleaming with excitement.

If true, Tangtang can taste chocolate and milk powder, Brother Zhang can return to normal, too.

”Even if the clues are found, developing the antidote isn’t something that can be done in a year or two,”

Bai Xiqin pondered, before her rebirth she had never heard of the Human Survivor Alliance’s commanding officer going to the South Sea for clues.

Then, this time, could the antidote be developed quickly?

”... Before Captain Zhang returns with the items needed to develop the antidote, we too have tasks. While zombies are impaired by the ice and snow, try to eliminate as many zombies as possible, especially those High Rank Zombie Kings who no longer have a large zombie entourage, they can be eliminated altogether...”

The latter part of the broadcast took on a more serious tone.

”If an antidote can be developed soon, why do we still need to wipe out zombies?” Bai Yifan was confused.

”Until Captain Zhang returns, this message means Captain Zhang doesn’t know about this decision, and Captain Zhang is in South Sea, how can the news travel back so quickly?”

Bai Xiqin’s expression became solemn.

The Human Survivor Alliance is having internal issues.

Someone wants to urge everyone to clean up the zombies while Captain Zhang is away...

But zombies can’t be cleaned up so easily.

Though zombies are impaired, under the command of the Zombie King, they can go all out, even sacrifice limbs to rush at humans.

Under the Zombie King’s command, zombies can also step on ice layers created by ice zombies.

Compared to zombies, humans have difficulty moving in the snow...

Not to mention the zombie animals.

This kind of call can only lead to victory when humans are fully suppressing zombies.

But humans are no longer at the top of the pyramid...
