Chapter 1387: Chapter 1041: Shaved Head, For Her?

The little dumpling heard this and immediately started wailing!

Gu Changsheng heard this and burst into laughter!

Her son, oh dear! What could she say? His mischievousness left her, his mother, utterly helpless!

”Enough with the dodging, you usually mess around, and I turn a blind eye, but this time you’ve gone too far. It’s bad enough you troubled Xiao Han Mo, but now you want to mess with Xiao Yueyue, and she’s a girl!” Gu Changsheng said, looking at her son’s shiny bald head, and it made her eyes hurt!

Such an eyesore, such an eyesore, this truly is an eyesore!

From the beginning, Gu Changsheng always knew she was a sucker for good looks, and she never hid it!

What’s wrong with liking beauties?

Liking beauties isn’t a crime!

If you can’t even stand your own reflection and have to compromise, that would be the real crime, not to mention wronging yourself is also a crime!

Therefore, Gu Changsheng’s head ached a little because her son’s bald style felt too disillusioning!

Although her son’s shiny bald head and round, bright eyes gave him the look of a little monk, still, she found it unappealing!

She was used to seeing her son with his little bun, the sudden change of style made her very uncomfortable!

”Mother... don’t be mad... I won’t do this in the future...” The little dumpling said with his head down, looking pleading.

”In the future? You’re still thinking about the future?” Gu Changsheng heard this, curled her lips, pointed at his little bald head, and said, ”For your hair to grow back to a bun, it’ll take at least one or two years, right? Son, you won’t have the chance to commit another ’crime’ for one or two years, but the real issue now is not this, the issue is why did you shave your head yourself?”

”I...” Under Gu Changsheng’s continued questioning, the little dumpling hesitated for a while, finally keeping his head down in silence.

Seeing this, Gu Changsheng squinted her phoenix eyes.

Intuitively, her son’s small figure suddenly seemed a bit lonely...

This feeling made her heart tighten...

”Amitabha...”

Just as Gu Changsheng was hesitating, Little Monk Bu Jie stepped forward, chanted a Buddhist mantra with clasped hands, and looked at Gu Changsheng with kind and gentle eyes. His deep gaze seemed to see through worldly matters, and although he was young, there was a faint sense of weariness about him, ”Benefactor Changsheng, why question again and again? You know everything has its causes and effects! The little benefactor wasn’t being willful...”

”You...” Gu Changsheng didn’t expect Little Monk Bu Jie to step up and speak for the little dumpling. To be honest, although Little Monk Bu Jie was always by her side, most of the time, he was like an observer, not very interested in anything.

Unless she asked, unless it was something significant, Little Monk Bu Jie would never proactively get involved, never willingly wade into muddy waters!

In this regard, Little Monk Bu Jie indeed had a somewhat transcendent aura!

But today, Little Monk Bu Jie took the initiative to speak for the little dumpling, not only that, his demeanor was entirely protective!

This made Gu Changsheng somewhat uncertain...

”Little monk! If you dare talk nonsense, I’ll draw a turtle on your head!”

However, seeing Little Monk Bu Jie step up to defend him, the little dumpling suddenly exploded, grabbing his clothes and threatening anxiously.

”Yaoyao, enough!” Seeing this, Gu Changsheng sternly scolded, quickly freeing Little Monk Bu Jie from the little dumpling’s clutches, and gave the little dumpling a warning look, stopping him from making any rash moves.

In Gu Changsheng’s heart, Little Monk Bu Jie was a very delicate presence in her home. This little monk, with his extra skills, was mostly like a transparent presence, but whenever something happened, he never backed down, always keeping the promise made back then, guarding her through thick and thin!

So, even though Gu Changsheng usually couldn’t stand his eternally kind and compassionate expression, often liked to poke him for fun, only Gu Changsheng herself knew that deep down, Little Monk Bu Jie held a very delicate place in her heart. Gu Changsheng treated him almost like family, yet held a respect that exceeded familial bounds!

This respect came from his exceptional skills and his steadfast adherence to Buddhism at such a young age...

”Shang Xie... the child is unruly, don’t mind him...” Gu Changsheng said, as she rubbed her nose awkwardly, evidently, her little dumpling was becoming more and more outrageous!

The monk before her, though young, was a real monk!

It was only her son, who was so disrespectful, dragging little Monk Bu Jie into mischief daily!

”Amitabha! This humble monk naturally doesn’t mind!” Little Monk Bu Jie replied with a carefree smile, then winked at the little dumpling.

The little dumpling received Little Monk Bu Jie’s wink, immediately widened his eyes, clenched his fists, and assumed a guarded posture!

But Little Monk Bu Jie just gave him a smile, looking quite smug.

Gu Changsheng was bewildered by the interaction of these two little baldies!

Oh dear, since when did her little dumpling become so familiar with Little Monk Bu Jie? They’re even winking at each other now!

”Amitabha, Benefactor Changsheng, if we truly analyze this matter, it all started because of you. Little Benefactor was extremely worried because of your injury, hence he wanted to sincerely move Buddha to protect you. Therefore, he thought having the intention to beseech Buddha should be accompanied by a gesture of inquiry, which is why he did this...” Bu Jie chanted a Buddhist hymn, unmoved, as Little Dumpling anxiously stomped his feet.

Gu Changsheng was stunned after hearing this.

For her?

Because of her, did her little dumpling shave his head?

”Benefactor Changsheng, as a parent, you must consider your family and care for yourself. Amitabha!” Little Monk Bu Jie looked at a somewhat dazed Gu Changsheng and confidently threw down these words before turning and walking out.

”Little Monk! You’re a bad guy, I won’t let you get away with it!” Seeing the little monk leave, the little dumpling immediately shouted at his back, but the sound grew softer under his mother’s gaze. He lowered his head, twisting two fingers awkwardly, and looked at his mother, ”Mom... I know it was wrong, I shouldn’t have shaved my head and also secretly shaved Little Han Mo’s...”

”Your Aunt Han Qiu said your hairstyle looked good because she knew you wanted to pray for me, right?” Gu Changsheng looked at her little dumpling, sighed, and said.

”Uh...” Little Dumpling blinked but nodded, ”Auntie Qiu and I were all very worried about you...”

”Son...” Upon hearing this, Gu Changsheng suddenly felt a pang of guilt.

She really wasn’t a qualified mother!

Always causing her son to worry and fear!

Her son was actually quite sensible!

”Mom?” Upon hearing his mother’s call, Little Dumpling immediately looked up with a pitiful expression.

”Whew!” Gu Changsheng looked at her son’s shiny little head. Although the face was still that chubby little face, the bald forehead looked truly odd!

Taking a deep breath to ease the oppressive feeling in her heart, Gu Changsheng raised a hand, tapped her little dumpling on the head, watching him wince and cover his head, pretended to say somberly, ”This head of yours is really ugly! It’s so unsightly!”

”Huh?” Little Dumpling was temporarily stunned, his big round eyes blinked round, his forehead was also shiny and round – the whole look was exactly like Ikkyu!

”And you, Little Han Mo! Don’t listen to your sister! Your style is unbelievably ugly!”

”Uh... Mom, Aunt Han Qiu said the style would be cool by summer time, in one or two months...” Little Dumpling touched his head, as Little Han Mo with the Black Face fell silent.

”Cool?! That’s ridiculous!” Gu Changsheng retorted, smoothly rolling her eyes at the thought that Aunt Han Qiu could come up with such a reason – no one else would!

Still, short hair has its advantages!

It’s just she’s been in this time period too long, gotten used to her son’s little boy appearance, and overlooked the fact that in modern times, boys simply don’t keep long hair!

Nevertheless, Gu Changsheng simply loves the golden child aesthetic for children and dislikes bald heads!

So, Gu Changsheng waved her hand, shouting out the door, ”Diao Chan!”

”Huh? I’m here!” Diao Chan was surprised at being called but quickly reacted.

”Go, buy some hats for kids for me, not thick ones, and cover these two’s little foreheads!” Gu Changsheng said, still a bit dissatisfied, covering them up somehow. Cover them up to avoid the constant reminder that her reckless battles had truly hurt her son’s heart, leaving him uneasy?

But what could she do?

She couldn’t promise Little Dumpling she wouldn’t take risks anymore, because even she didn’t know what the future held!

She didn’t want to comfort her little dumpling either. Her son was hers, she understood him well, and Gu Changsheng knew that the reason Little Dumpling stopped Little Monk Bu Jie from telling the truth was just to avoid her feeling guilty or remorseful!

Her son doesn’t want her to feel guilty!

Having a son who considers her, Gu Changsheng felt, she was really lucky!

Patting her son and Little Han Mo’s little bald heads, Gu Changsheng realized, having such family meant happiness, even Wuchang Yue had begun to retract his previous disdainful looks of Little Dumpling, becoming a bit embarrassed.

”Senior Brother? You’re here too?” Just then, a bold female voice resounded from outside the door. In the next moment, Borjigin Nian, dressed in Foreign Tribe attire, appeared outside the guest room, greeted Zhou Mu, and loudly shouted inside, ”Gu Changsheng, the whole city is in turmoil, yet you still find time to send Diao Chan to buy hats!”
